  1. It's stated in the name: TeDiuM. For the boring, everyday thing I bought a Breva 750 ie.
  2. Translation: raspberry pi: a very cheap computer platform with which one who is in the know (i.e. not me...) can construct useful things. hifiberry DAC: a sound card for the aforementioned computer platform. NAD 306: a relatively good, if a little old, hi-fi amplifier Bose Acoustimass: a loudspeaker system from Bose. Works well enough for "sound in the air", but not what I would choose for analytic listening. In "professional circles" I once heard the line "no highs, no lows, must be Bose", but I try not to be predjudiced. But some people still play his music.
  3. Along with just about every bike that was brought onto the market after about 1985, maybe even earlier.
  4. Great. I hope it fulfills your expectations, and doesn't require more work than you are readily prepared to invest.
  5. Randy, that is a really nice photo.
  6. Coathanger weather where she is, I think.
  7. Till the rubber cracks. No, seriously, assuming they are in good nick and not old and hard, just until the rubber starts to show the very first signs of bulging out from under the clamp. If they are old and hard, they need to be replaced.
  8. Lucky boy. Mine has only the standard pitches. Why that is relevant: I buggered up the thread for the left mirror on my V35 Imola by running a tap down it and not stopping to think why it was hard work. When I had a closer look at the mirror, I realised it was fine pitch. Fortunately the mirror still screws in and holds, but suchlike is a little annoying.
  9. No, as far as I know, the standard pitch for M6 is 1.0. The 1.25 pitch is M8 (and M9, but who uses that?). To back that up, look here (look for "Steigung"= thread pitch) : https://www.anzugsmoment.de/gewindesteigung/ https://www.gewinde-normen.de/iso-regelgewinde.html https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metrisches_ISO-Gewinde PS: there are also standards (norms) for "Feingewinde", i.e fine pitch. A quick search indicates that "Grobgewinde" (=coarse pitch) also exists, but that seems to be for things like screws for plasterboard. PPS: "Regelgewinde" means "standard thread" or "thread according to the norm".
  10. It seems the thread starter has found a solution. In case anyone else stumble across this: yes, the screws holding my Le Mans fairing together are all standard pitch, and I believe they are all M6
  11. I see the title of the thread has changed. @p6x Did you buy it?
  12. Do you mean this ad by any chance? https://www.ebay.de/itm/176128295514?hash=item290210825a:g:OdAAAOSwNIZkF8rp&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8AwZlpW%2BYazOq6a%2F2TLrAwQglkMgom7EGX1QHsI1sznZygK3JkpPJqmdiOPNsX2DNbvCPwTyVCJ2zZhq6Ci5pE4IPXXe1ChEQTGPwwGJ67cPD1pSFGGicroYWKqgvHl%2BtyUC%2FTrQZZ4wdmUwNU%2FlI6qlcWrBVVOO2P2xSL0L%2B8QSVx%2F4POMcuyOghMP8CEk0Cdqy%2BbPBfdUe7riYbSQgFmFrFWJgFTIcUBCE18RBAckR0umge8gE0nCXQBml%2F56R3AgdSzElH4wm6G%2BJu%2FFEeq2MCGSCXDlm0r%2FZWifoOTGLSH%2FS8iZsEGr3LDpWtBO3kg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-LFwceuYw It says "Made in USA" on the relay in the pictures, but the listed location of the goods (Standort) is Shenzhen, China. Nevertheless, I dare say they would work.
  13. That's not much help in trying to help you. #1, for instance, is the complete fairing. #7 is the windshield.
  14. Which ones exactly? Perhaps you could state the number(s) from the drawing here: https://www.stein-dinse.biz/etkataloge/etkataloge.php?l=de&h=MG&m=220&t=5354#a174050
  15. I haven't actually done a conversion, but read a lot about it. My V35 Imola has the Integral Braking Sytem, so it interests me. The collected wisdom seems to indicate that you may be able to use the existing hand lever /master cyclinder for both front disks, but will need a smaller master cylinder for the foot brake. The same hand master cylinder for two disks should give you a system with more travel in the lever but less effort for the same braking force. Where it can go wrong is that there might not be enough travel in the master cylinder to pump enough fluid to operate both slave cylinders adequately. If you were to use the existing foot master cylinder for only one disk instead of two, you would have a system with very little travel at the lever which requires a very large effort to achieve adequate braking force. The solution, as indicated above, is to change to a smaller master cylinder here. I'm sure there is someone here who can go into more detail about specific sizes of master cylinder / slave cylinder and so on. Incidentally, the Imola still has the integral system. I like it. The only thing I am seriously thinking about changing is the master cylinder for the hand brake. A slightly smaller one would provide a system with more feel and more braking power for less effort, at the cost of more travel at the lever.
  16. Hmm, must have been a while ago. Never heard of that. On the other hand, there are some pretty isolated places in Australia. Who knows what might have been done for a settlement with only 3 or 4 buildings.
  17. The Breva. I've got the day off tomorrow, and it looks like it will be mostly dry. I'll be out on the V11 for sure.
  18. Mate, Drouin is not that far out of Melbourne (or are you in the Western Suburbs?). Why don't you go and visit Guzzler to swap experiences? I would, but the ride from Germany would take a couple of days... Incidentally, regarding your question Did you follow up on this?
  19. I don't think I had ever heard Tommy Emmanual play a 12-bar blues in E before. Thanks for that! The man is quite brilliant, I reckon.
  20. What brand is that? I don't want to alarm you, but there was one on the German market at the time that was very prone to giving up the ghost. Let me know the brand, and I'll go looking in the German forum for where I read about it. Maybe it is the same one, maybe not.
  21. My fingers are crossed. Have a good trip. Hopefully successful.
  22. Without wanting to de-rail the thread, I will be "forced" to ride one of the bikes to work tommorow. There will be a public transport strike, the weather will be acceptable, and I got the Breva 750 and the V11 Le Mans to a state in which I am prepared to ride them again last week. The only question is which one: the bike will be parked on the street near the opera into the evening. 1 point against the V11. It's only about 4.5 km, which is just enough to get the Breva more or less warm, but not really enough for the V11. Another point. So the Breva would be the sensible choice. But I really, really want to ride the V11. We'll see tomorrow morning. PS: neither of them have been ridden for the last couple of months. I've had the batteries out and on the charger, so I think they'll be right. Nevertheless, I think I'll take both keys with me when I go down to the courtyard to leave for work (4 floors, no elevator...)
  23. Just checking to see if I understand this right. The point seems to be that the +/- 15 mV is less than the ~20 mV change between the figures at the bottom of the columns in the image that Phil posted here, and therefore an acceptable tolerance: Is that right?
  24. Yeah, do that. I already answered your mail with the UPS costs, and said to put it in the US Post. But if DHL or Fedex is reasonable, that would be an option. Also, I'm happy to "go with the crowd", i.e. what the rest decides on. No need for you to be running around sending one from one place, and one from another.
  25. Cheque is difficult for me. They are not in common use here, so I don't have a cheque account. I thought that paypal "to a friend" doesn't cost anything for either party. If you can't use that for whatever reason, just let me know what the charges are, and I'll put that amount on top.
