I haven't had my tank off to have a look, but just so I know what to look for when it comes off: Was there insulation on there as standard from new?

Bear in mind that the light circuit requires a connection back to the minus pole of the battery. I haven't studied the wiring plan von my V11 to that extent yet, but I assume that it is the same as nearly every vehicle of any type on the market, i.e from the socket back through the frame to the battery. Have a look at it, and make sure the connenctions "after the light" are also good. Edit: after a quick look at the wiring plan, it looks like the tail light, brake light and number plate light share a common "earth". This might be the common mounting bracket, or it might be wiring that comes together and is connected to the frame somewhere close. As I said, have a good look at it and check that side of the circuit too.

Spoked wheel and cafe conversion of 2002 Lemans

I have nothing to do with them, so I can't help. Send them an e-mail and see if they respond. I expect that they can deal with english, but to be on the safe side, try using this translater: https://www.deepl.com/translator in my experience, it delivers much more satisfactory results than the google thing. -
you could try contacting Steve S. Maybe he got a few spares....

A topic here about passenger pegs
audiomick replied to audiomick's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
That's the one. Thanks very, very much. -
I've just spent about 40 minutes looking for a topic that I'm sure I saw here, but I can't find it. It was about an adapter to set the passenger pegs a bit lower and a bit further forward. I found one thread from years ago from someone who made one, but that wasn't it. I'm pretty sure the one I read described an aftermarket part, or maybe a BMW accessory. Does that ring a bell for anyone? Can anyone point me at the thread in question?

Just for the record, Stein Dinse has them. The Z at the end of the part number indicates that it is from a third-party supplier, but I can't say who that supplier might be. https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?products_id=455346 edit: Wendel in Berlin seems to have one (only) left: https://wendelmotorraeder.de/feder_gu04238200-p-1028587.html?ref=expl I've got one of the "improved" ones from @Chuck sitting here waiting to be installed.

Go Joe. Can I have your workshop when you're finished with it?

In the Opera House that I work in, we had the World Dance Day as a guest event today. The show was from this school. They really are good (and I'm not really a ballet fan...). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palucca_University_of_Dance_Dresden One section featured three songs that were obviously from the same artist. As I heard the lyrics of the first one, I thought "wow, that is really sharp satire". Close to songs like "Bobby Brown goes down" and "Valley Girl" from Frank Zappa. I didn't know who the artist was, and went looking for it just now on that tube thing. Found it. It turns out that the artist was Nick Cave. Now I'm certain that the lyrics are social commentary. Those with really sharp ears might also hear him playing with accents to sharpen the point. Ok, the man never really had a "pleasant" voice, but the text is good (and he's Australian). So, here's the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo1WmgB9WBI Seems like the tube wont let it be embedded.

Someone sent me this link, looks like the same rack to me: http://www.prodigium.it/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=307&language=en&zenid=83356d1afaf32d0583665ff21b6dae77 I have no idea if the link is still valid, if the thing is still being produced, or any of that. Just thought I'd mention it.

Spoked wheel and cafe conversion of 2002 Lemans
audiomick replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in 24/7 V11
That's interesting. I thougt I read several years ago that they had ceased making custom tanks. Apparently not. Here's the site, I believe. Al's Facebook link wouldn't let me in without signing up. (Not a chance of that happening...) https://www.alu-tanks.de/39994.html all in German, and no English option, but there is contact info there under "Kontakt": https://www.alu-tanks.de/41368.html -
I've pulled this up because I read something directly related in the German forum a couple of weeks ago. Someone started a topic about how he was having trouble setting his TPS. Paul wrote: Karsten wrote: Bernd, the bloke who programmed GuzziDiag, wrote: So, the problem is not that GuzziDiag is in any way inaccurate or anything like that. It only sees what the ECU delivers, and the ECU is apparently not capable of measuring the Voltage of the TPS when the butterflies are fully closed. Those who don't own a multmeter should be trotting off to buy one about now...

You need a dog.

Or for sidecars, as Mike points out on his HMB page.

I've repeated this post to make sure no-one misses the edit. Turns out that the HMB baffle plate is not compatible with our motors after all. The inital listing including the V11 was an error on Mike's part.

What insurance is compulsory in the various countries? The reason for the question is, I believe that insurance that is compulsory tends to be more expensive that voluntary insurance that has to compete on the market. In Germany, third party property is required. I don't have any more than that on the bikes. The V35 Imola is around €55- a year, I believe. The V11 around €190.-. The car has comprehensive insurance. Has to, because the financing isn't paid up yet, and it's a condition of the financing contract. That's just under €500.- for six months. It's a 2018 Opel Astra with a 125 hp diesel motor.
