Transmission problem. Shift Bendix? Any ideas?
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to TomH's topic in Technical Topics
If I may: you need to be thorough, systematic and careful in your analysis of what is going on. Record everything and be specific in the info you give us.... this will help in the analysis. Tell us exactly what the oil is like when you drain it. I'd replace it all again anyway and use the correct measure and filling procedure required. Keeping your bike really clean will help in identifying any leaks that may develop. And spending time just looking at it and under it, is part of being involved and knowing what is going on with our bikes. I wouldn't ride it until you know what is going on. I'm in Redmond so if you want to chat, send me a private message and I can give you my phone number. -
In light of the many instances of fuses being a topic for discussion, I thought I'd post this. I stumbled upon it tonight while having an emergency beer after work and thought it very very interesting. A detailed investigation into fuse quality. For our more electrically capable members, I am sure this isn't news, but for amateurs like myself I found it really enlightening. I hope it's OK to post this here.

LED turn signal conversion problem
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to Don Macleay's topic in Technical Topics
Tom Thanks,... after reading again, I see what you are saying more clearly. Phil Thanks.... I might as well give it a go then. Docc Thanks for the link dinky. I'll order them, swap the flasher over, and with the LEDs installed, see what happens. Hey it's only electrickery right. My only concern is the feedback through the indicator bulb in the dash. Not sure if the flasher alone would solve that but I'll get diodes on hand in case they all flash. Cheers and thanks guys.- 57 replies

LED turn signal conversion problem
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to Don Macleay's topic in Technical Topics
So I would also like to add LED turn signals to my Greenie and after reviewing this thread carefully I think I understand what needs to be done. Many thanks to the Kiwi's here for their helpful comments; I found these diodes online that appear to comply with KiwRoys' solution. https://www.superbrightleds.com/metric-bike-diode-kit-motorcycle-diode-kit?utm_campaign=400_tROAS-Pmax&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=N/A&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpa_Z3ZWahwMVyhWtBh0V2QG8EAQYASABEgJ4UvD_BwE So I assume the wiring will be lurking in the headlight shell. Open it up, identify the wires leading to the single dash indicator light, and install the diodes facing the correct way, into the circuit on either side of the dash lamp, from each side of turn signals. Then run a ground wire from the dash lamp to ground. What I am still unsure about is: 1. Will I need to replace the dash lamp with an LED lamp? 2. Do I need to change the flasher unit? I guess I will soon find out! But any insights will be greatly appreciated because electrical isn't my strong suit.- 57 replies

Best tune route for Mistral mufflers
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to DucatiGuzziIndian's topic in Technical Topics
You guys are phenomenal. I wish you were all here in Seattle, because i'd buy each one of you a beer! Phil: That pretty much what I understood from reading your lengthy posts on the issue. Thanks mate. Kindoy2: yes of course and that is done. Thanks! Pressure: Makes perfect sense especially on 4 strokes. (2 strokes are different kettle of fish of course). Headers, crossovers and these days, the catalytic converter, all have a lot more impact on exhaust gas extraction. On the Indian motorcycle forum I frequent, a lot of guys have removed their catalytic converters and LOST torque due to lack of back pressure. Some of them are not very happy about that! I'll pull the plugs now and photograph them. Then fit the Mistrals and check plug color after a few long rides to make sure its not running to lean, but I don't expect any noticeable difference. Thank you again fine gentlemen! -
Gentlemen Wanting to install my recently purchased Mistral mufflers but need some advice on the correct course of action regarding a tune. I've read the near 50 pages on tunes using Guzzidiag, etc but I have neither the time, ability nor inclination to become a temporary computer geek just to screw around with it. What's the consensus on the easiest way for a non tech person to get a correct tune for the Mistrals' Any assistance is hugely appreciated.

....."In Australia, particularly in Melbourne, in my experience, if you go into a cafe and get a coffee, you have to be really unlucky to get a coffee that is not at least pretty good." Same in New Zealand.... coffee is outstanding... Starbucks open up and then have to close becuase its crap compared to the local cafes.

Absolutely recommend Lolo Pass. Especially between Lewiston and Missoula. Awesome piece of road. Did it on my Ducati StreetFighter a few years ago at speed. One of the best rides of my life.

I had scoured the interwebs to try and find some photos of the finish of currently manufactured Mistral exhaust mufflers with no luck. Mistral recently updated their website but the images are still poor. I was interested in how well finished they were, what the laser etched logo looked like and how the satin finish looked close up. The guys at MG Cycle were great to deal with so I purchased a set recently. They were very well packed. Each was wrapped in a layer of clear plastic sheet, then wrapped in bubble wrap and then wrapped in heavy corrugated cardboard...... there was plenty of protection. I was pleased with the finish and so I thought it might be of interest to others to see what they look like close up, if anyone is considering them for their V11. The laser logo has replaced the old red logo and it is a lot more subtle. I also purchased the hangers for them because they are the high mount ovals. I can't say these are well done.... welding is poor and they look like they were wrapped up before the paint had time to dry. I will have to redo them myself.

Pete Roper V11 slosh trays now available!
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to Pressureangle's topic in 24/7 V11
Apologies for the radio silence this past few weeks but had to travel to NZ to sell a house and pack shit up. Back in Seattle now. Just posting to say the donation to Medecins Sans Frontiers has been made, as requested by Mr. Roper. Pete, I can email you the donation confirmation if you like... the amount was $220 USD. -

Sorry to hear that... seems a little crazy... I received a pm from Musto wanting a plate and there seems to be need for at least one other. If we could get a few more it would help bring the unit cost down and I'd be happy to help out... but it may take a little time to accumulate enough requests... -

Interesting that arrivals are similar in these different parts of the world. I put down the $12 value because it's a "sample" and so taxes and duties should be minimal. Hope the German charges are minimal. Will get onto the charitable donation for Pete shortly ands I'll advise when done. -
Yes Was thinking I could make Footgooses' tail tidy bracket. But I was also interested in what he did to the exhaust, because that back end looks all the business!! I like the high exhausts.
-
Footgooses' Tail tidy looks fantastic here.... just love how clean the back of the bike looks. Theres a reference in this thread to "how he groomed the titanium exhaust" but I searched and couldn't find anything about that... I also wonder if anyone would be interested in the bracket.... he kindly provided the template for it .... it would be an easy waterjet project just like the Roper plates. Anyone interested ? ... and if it is not too much trouble to ask, where could I find more info on Footgooses back end? ....(OMG that doesn't sound right does it!)

Andreani upgrades for V11 OEM Marzocchi forks
DucatiGuzziIndian replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in Technical Topics
Good to know Phil would love to have some quality Ohlins front and rear on my Greenie but I cant find anything online apart from using later V11 models' stuff...... and even then, how to know what fits and what doesn't??? I had been considering Andreani but not an option now. -

Recycled. Not much good for anything. Almost all plates are sent. Once all payments are in, I'll do the donation and let Pete know it's done.... The one that was left over is available for Dragonknee and I emailed him. Will send payment details to the overseas guys this weekend. US Mail will likely take a couple weeks.... but was by far the cheapest option. As an example, UPS to Victoria, Australia was something like $260 USD. Mail was $39 USD.... SO ..... this means Guzzler really can live up to his name and guzzle the saving... $221 USD of beer! Please send a photo of a row of beers Guzzler! Cheers.
