Thanks @docc I'll take a look. Surprisingly the plastics on the bags are in pretty good shape still -

@Lucky Phil I totally understand what you are saying about the rear end on these. This is the exhaust system my dad found and put on and I'm doing what I can to keep this bike the way he had it as a tribute to him -

@p6x I would have to estimate something like 15 gallons lol? If you think the pain job looks bad you should see the sad state of the ceramic liner lol -

They sound amazing. Loud as hell Dad said he found this full Bub set that was originally for a Sport 1100i but they also fit the v11. My parents lived in a rural area so it was no big deal for him, I live right in the middle of an urban area and the only one in my neighborhood who rides so I don't really take the v11 out for early morning rides lol. When on the highway out of town they are great. Take the bike north of 5k and it sounds like a vintage race bike. -

When I inherited my dad's V11 last year I always planned on getting rid of these old , purple faded Tekno bags. With them being all worn out I thought it made the bike look bad. Then I realized that these things are rarer than hens teeth! I looked at a few older posts on here but didn't see anything that wowed me. After searching around I found a post on a Harley forum recommending Kiwiw Scuff Cover for black leather shoes to use on faded synthetic bags. At $5 a bottle I figured it was worth a try. What a HUGR difference using this as well as some zipper lube has made on these bags. They don't look brand new, but they look like the rest of the bike - pretty good for it's age! Pics from what they looked like when faded, one coat of the scuff remover on the bags, and then finally 3 coats with the bags on the bike

@po18guy just wanted to come back and say that it would appear this was a connections issues all along. I had to put this little project on hold for a couple of weeks due to life getting in the way. Today I pulled the bike out and took another look. One of the leads was very loose in its fitting, I pulled them all apart and cleaned and dried them off. After the bike was all back together the voltage being returned to the battery is looking good and a short test ride resulted in the bike running better than it has in months. Looks like I'm back on the road .

@po18guy this sounds like it's worth a try. I'll give it a shot , thanks!

@docc perfect, thank you!

I'll have a look this weekend! What gauge wire should I use when running the ground wire off the regulator?
-
@GuzziMotothanks! I should have gone to the website and checked on this info for myself. I'm happy to say that when the bike is off 12.85 is what my battery reads and it's been hovering in the mid 70s mostly here in Kansas City.

@docc thanks for the links!

@GuzziMotothanks for the post ok the allotted volts for the battery. This helps out my mind at ease. I see a lot of posts on here about the guzzidiag tool, can anyone link the most useful? I want to know where to download and what hardware I will need. During my boring day job I'm a Software QA so I feel more then confident working with the tool as opposed to my extreme basic understanding of power flow on this bike lol. Thanks in advance for any help
