  1. I was told by a friend that checked with Travis County and Hays County (Austin area) and found that Travis will continue to require motorcycle inspections (but not cars) in 2025 but in Hays County neither will need inspections. This runs counter to what I had found with my own research, so we will see shortly.
  2. Great, thank you Docc!
  3. Thank you Audiomick and Phil! And big thanks for that workshop manual. I only had an owners manual.
  4. After remounting my 2002 LeMans front wheel with its new Dunlop Roadsmart 4 (please see picture for proof) and feeling like an ace mechanic for how easily it went on, I have been floundering with getting the rear wheel back on. I've reviewed the little line drawing in the owners manual and threads on this forum, and am convinced that the spacer I have on the right side of the bike between the thin flat wide washer and the swingarm should really go inside the hub assembly, between the rear end housing and the wheel where the splines engage. If this is correct, then is there really just the very thin wide washer between the right wheel bearing and the right inner side of the swingarm? Thanks for any advice on this!
  5. Hi Everyone, I started riding dirt bikes in the 1970's when I was 12. In high school I rode an RM 250 and later a Husqvarna 390. When I was 18 I bought my first street bike, a Honda CB750F. I hadn't owned a motorcycle for the past 20 years until about 18 months ago when I purchased a 2017 V9 Bobber. I then found Great Deal after Great Deal (6 Moto Guzzi's at an estate sale, a 2016 V7 from a friend, 3 Harley Davidsons at crazy low prices from a guy dumping them for a land deal, and a showroom condition 2015 Triumph Thunderbird Storm from the original owner with 220 miles on it) so that I now have 14 motorcycles! The idea is that I'll sort them all out and keep what I like for the long term and sell the rest to cover the costs. For now it appears the Keepers are: 1970 Ambassador, 1980 V50II, 1989 LeMans, 2002 LeMans, 2016 V7 and 2017 V9. I'm unsure about the Harleys, as they are not yet road worthy due to sorting out a few odds and ends. I'd eventually like to add a Griso and Audace after selling off the non-keepers. I have 2 boys, ages 29 and 30, and a 7 year old daughter. All are enthusiasts! My wife is obviously a very understanding individual, and started this whole thing a few years ago when she innocently stated that she'd like to learn how to ride a motorcycle, unaware of my past and the passion for the hobby that has been reignited.
  6. For some reason I had not been able to find them myself searching on MG Cycle. The link was very helpful and I ordered the parts. Thanks again!
  7. Thanks to Pete Roper and PJPRO1. I have read the tuneup instructions and will get to that but don't have what I need to balance the cylinders yet. I'll check that link. Thanks again!
  8. I'll try to find the name of the epoxy I had in mind. It is popular for bonding sailboat hulls to decks and I've had good luck with it for a variety of materials. There is a hardening and non-hardening version of it available.
  9. Phil, thank you for this insight. I thought if need be I'll fill in the cracks as best I can with non-hardening epoxy and try to reinstall and line them up better.
  10. Now that my auction-find 2002 LeMans is running (after replacing the fuel pump and a bad relay and thanks to the guidance of those on this forum), I find that it seems to be running lean. The rubber connections (I'm not even sure what to call them) between the throttle body and intake are poorly fitted, hard, and cracked. I'd like to purchase new ones, but wanted to find out if there was a preferred source for these. I can check with the regular Guzzi vendors, but thought there might be A Guy (like I found there was for relays) that can supply them. Thank you! BTW, I was unfamiliar with M4 exhaust systems but love the sound of their slip-on's on this bike. They allow all the right sounds to come through but are overall surprisingly quiet.
  11. I went with the shop Lucky Phil posted a link to above. They have a cover with no seams or piping that appears to be a good match for the original for 100 Euros. With shipping from France to Texas it all translated to about $142.00. I'll post pictures when it's on the bike. Thanks again for the assistance!
  12. Yes, the headlight goes out when cranking the starter motor.
  13. With the awesome assistance of the folks in this site, I seem to have the bike sorted out. A working substitute fuel pump and new relays did the trick Thank you!!
  14. Ok I'll keep looking for them. I have a friend that does motorcycle upholstery so if all else fails I'll hit him up. Thanks!
  15. Mine is sun damaged. I'm happy to consider both stock and aftermarket seats. Thank you!
