  1. 70's in Jacksonville...took a jog about 1500 in shorts and t...sweated through the whole bit. k
  2. ...but what a look!! Probably just wondering why you were taking so long?? k
  3. Next week I will wake the Sport from +8 months of layup and disuse...I hope the weather in Tennessee will support. If not, I will haul it to Florida. k
  4. I like my PCIII...but parking the bike in the flower bed under the bedroom window so I could run the USB wire to it kind of pissed off the wife...next time I'll pull the PCIII out and bring it inside - LOL. k
  5. When I had tires put on a year or so ago, I found they were inflated to 42psi. I have used various pressures from the 2 up recommended (as quoted from "Slug" above) up to 42, with no ill effect. Typically I inflate the tires a bit more on colder days. My bike is very sensitive to anything less than the 35/37 combination. k
  6. Mine represents a career lifestyle choice, a mistress, and power projection...this baby cannot be worn concealed beneath your jacket. k
  7. You need the PCIII...you want to buy it from Todd. Btw, while you have the tank off installing your open air filter, make sure the alum foil insulator on the bottom of the tank is securely glued on...it severely restricts airflow when sucked onto the open filter. k
  8. My Rocket leathers have both the 360 and 180-ish zippers you describe. I've only used the 360 on extremely cold days and it is 360 degrees, which makes for slightly restricted movement. Sorry, cannot comment on interchangeability of various brand names, but my jacket and pants, while the same manufacturer are different "models", and the zippers work fine. k
  9. I have convinced myself that about an inch off one of the fwd downpipes (sorry, I do not remember which one) where it meets my Stucchi X-over would put the X-over in a better position to allow the silencers to line up correctly. I ended up on this little expedition before testing the theory with a proper saw, however, so cannot report that I am right. k
  10. 29 years last July...she outlasted the last Guzzi and I'm certain she'll outlast this one.
  11. I'd bet on a warped rotor. I ended up changing mine for the same symptoms. You may be able to view the warpage with the bike on a shop stand and front wheel off the deck --- mine could be seen in this manner (as well as by watching the rotor while rollin' down the highway). Change the wheel bearings while you are at it...cheap insurance. k
  12. Hopefully, peace will break out all over. k
  13. Sadly mine looks like Martin's, only bigger as original tenant was reportedly a 1938 Plymouth. I pushed Guzzi and the rest of my stuff to the rear of garage, placing implements of lawn destruction (some call it "lawn care", but not the way my helpers do it) at rollup door for use during this excursion. I have BIG plans of knocking down two of four walls and expanding it someday...but currently lack the financial means to make that little dream come true. k
  14. I have used hearing protection of different types for years, and have been dedicated to the cause since suffering a midrange hearing loss in one ear due to an occupational hazard. You don't know how important your hearing is until you lose a little piece of it. I typically carry "foamys" with me at all times in case I end up in a high noise environment--such as a movie theater, concert, slinging a hammer in the shop, lawnmower, and riding the MG. I will wear them sometimes on crosscounty in my 4wd to keep down the extra noise, and it makes a big difference in my hearing sensitivity upon arrival especially if I am engaged in something that requires peak hearing such as hunting. I have also worn them when working with other musicians that feel the need to "feel" the beat of their amplifiers. There is minimal degradation of what you actually "hear", but it makes a big dif in your long term hearing. k
  15. Replaced my boots about two years or so ago when bike began to display poor performance and boots looked pretty cracked. Quick check to separate cosmetic from functional is to spray the crack with a little carb cleaner when the bike is running...you will immediately know if you have a real crack. That said, when laying my bike up in March, before this latest odyssey, I noted that the boots are cracking again. During previous reassembly, noted that the line-up of the injector body and intake horns is not as good as it should be, so that stress probably adds to the deterioration (plus that Guzzi vibration). Anyway, will replace again at tear down upon my return. Keep smiling. k
  16. Regrets. I am temporarily detained by OEF and GWOT. Enjoy TN! k
  17. Last I saw mine, it was working great in the trash can.
  18. John, I like my Maund seat. Enjoy. k
  19. Stopped off in Calagari, Sardenia and while I did not get to see the Norge in person, the dealer gave me a nifty Norge poster with all the '06's on the back. Came in a cardboard sleeve an old LP. k
  20. Mine is smooth, but has the occassional false neutral and will stick between second and third once in a while when I am lazy--I have new uninstalled shift springs to remedy this problem. k
  21. Love the S too, Bob. Going for a ride this afternoon as soon as I get my wash out of the dryer. Should be about 45 degrees by then. k
  22. Spray cleaner (no favorite), cotton terry washcloths or hand-towels (if you "borrow" the signifcant other's...make sure it is a dark color). Spritz-on, wipe down. Use one of those spritz on waxes about twice a year on painted surfaces...makes clean up easy. Ocassionally hit wheel rims and cylinder heads with pressure washer or car wash wand...be careful of water intrusion. Otherwise, I leave it bug impacted. Agree with Ouiji, as the only proper response to "ever wash that thing?" is "do you ever ride yours?". k Oh, yeah...and I only wipe off my leathers/wash my textiles when they start to stink from the excess bug guts--and both my jackets are yellow, so they show the impacts. k
  23. Gil, the fitting Andy described leaked a bit on mine as well, only I noticed the oil residue on the wiring harness under the tank first, while poking around at something else. Simple fix to tighten a bit when you get tank up. k
  24. Gil, the SB's look like neat units...when you get the sizes sorted, pls post them. I have my significant other trained for assist in this particular job...leaves both hands free and allows you the chance to get low where you can take a shot in the face. k
