  1. Hey! Does anyone else get a shot at these fancy duds?
  2. Canada is excruciatingly strict when it comes to approving any mass produced vehicles. They have not allowed any Guzzi's with Ohlins suspension to be sold because they feel they should be tested as a completely new, individual motorcycle. However, on a provicial basis we can have any one off bike certified as long as it has lights, signals, mirrors and brake lights. My WR400 took 15 minutes to be approved and i expect my MGS to be the same.
  3. How come I treat my Guzzi like shit (wheelies and burn outs etc.) and I never get any of the problems I see on this site? Maybe I should look closer at my bike someday!
  4. I'll give you $450 Canadian for it! You pay the shipping!
  5. Oh yes! I forgot to say that it takes about two hours and twenty minutes to install tha FBF pistons. Mike Rich pistons should be the same! I suggest you check out the break-in suggestions to seat the new rings! Break-in Secrets
  6. I checked the weight of the FBF pistons and although they look a little heftier than stock they are only about a gram heavier. I can't say that the FBF pistons give more horse power because I do not seem to have any more power than some one without high compression pistons (have tried a few drag races) but there sure is a lot more throttle response and everyone I have ridden with notices that (as well as me). As the pictures show the FBF pistons do not have any anti-friction coating. I wouldn't have a V11 without high compression but I would really like to see a direct comparison of the Mike Rich and FBF pistons. The Mike Rich pistons seem to be a better engineered set and lighter weight but the FBF (actually Wiseco) are a slightly higher compression ratio. Shall we race, Al?
  7. Robbie! Trade him your headlight and mounting for his Lemans gear!
  8. I cannot answer the first question but for the answer to the second question, i suggest you contact Mark Twain!
  9. Antonio! Have you measured the voltage across the terminals with your battery installed and the engine running?
  10. Antonio. In order to determine if your dynamo is not functioning properly the voltage must be measured with the battery installed and the engine running. It sounds as if this is true so perhaps your battery is OK. I reccomend that you confirm that your dynamo is not OK before buying a new battery.
  11. After reasing the newspaper articles from the links that Paul Minnaert posted (translated as best I can) it seems to me that the solution to all of Guzzi's problems is for all of us to go out and buy a new Guzzi or two.
  12. Sorry but when I look at those two quotes it reminds me of sayings like this: Hi. I'm from the government and I'm here to help you! or...I'm Mike from Canmore! Sorry. That last bit will only be familiar to anyone who watches the Royal Canadian Air Farce.
  13. Every Ghezzi and Brian bike looks awesome and that Folgore sounds like a great deal but......... I'll take my chances and hope for the MGS!
  14. This is the key test! If your bike is not charging then you will need a large number of new batteries to keep your bike going. If it is charging and your bike starts OK then you may only have an indication problem and still do not need a new battery. Until you check the voltage when the bike is running you cannot proceed to the next part of troubleshooting.
  15. The only piano dollies I know would scream and throw their drink on you if you tried to put them under the engine. I really like the video clips of the Classic Co guys ripping the MGS apart at Albacete. That seems to be a work friendly motorcycle. They also had about six guys to help..!
  16. Not me!! I put mine down gently!
  17. Snow sucks! It only rains most of the winter here! I talked to some friends who have tried a type of accelerometer dyno on their cars. They say that the numbers don't correspond to real dyno numbers and the quarter mile results are a little off but they do use it for comparison numbers to show modification changes. Thay paid $700 Cdn for thairs and don't feel it is worth that much but it is useful for backyard modifications and they must be backed up with real dyno testing.
  18. That has been my plan all along. I have a Yamaha WR400 with a street kit and had no problem getting it registered. I have a deposit on a Corsa so it would never be DOT'ed by any country. I just hope they do get the fifty built before the factory shut down. I would like to take delivery at the Vancouver bike show.
  19. This doesn't sound good!
  20. I only expect it to be a toy!
  21. I have a MY15M ordered and it seems to me that Power Commander could have had all this high tech stuff a long time ago. Why didn't they? When I get my MY15M I will pass on everything I learn! I am also ordering a VEYPOR unit! Much fun to come!
  22. Stop it! I want my MGS! Do I sound like a child? I am sometimes!
  23. Still waiting........!
  24. I like the looks of those pipes. They are different from the run of the mill cans everyone makes to the same pattern. Good on ya!
  25. Thanks Steve. By the way, your math implies Ruben is in the top 10 percent of the one percent of top riders. That's not too bad but it still doesn't make a winner. Unless the winner is the one who gets the girl at the end of the day! Godd morning to you all!!!
