  1. Ton-up applies to the Whitworth standards so who knows how many grams that would be. 3.14159265359 maybe?
  2. How far back on this thread? Nine pages is too far for me to look for it.
  3. I won't have any problem registering it here in British Columbia. I just have to get proper lighting, signals, horn, and speedometer and then have it inspected by a licenced shop. I may have to put an alternate exhaust silencer on but otherwise it is a straight forward, one off registration. I have licenced some motocross bikes the same way with no difficulty.
  4. Hey Jaap! The dike hiking tulip stomper that works here in the hangar told me about all the carbide bombs he made as a kid. He even has the scars to prove it! It makes your story come alive!!
  5. The local Moto Guzzi dealer checked with MGNA and they say the MGS-01 Corsa is still due in the end of July. I want my CORSA!!!!!
  6. Time to go away from work in British Columbia!
  7. I think you must have been talking to Antonio.
  8. Zebulon's reply reinforces my feeling that the MGS wil be a great bike - regardless of the power output. I can't wait to get mine!!
  9. I have been using a small steam cleaner to clean the wrinkle paint on my Rosso Mandello this year. It is a portable home model called the Steam Shark and works fantastic. I spray a biodegradable cleaner on called TCI 104 HD and wait 10 minutes and then using the brush tip attachment I clean it off. Then I rinse with water and so far the engine is staying like new! I have not had any problems with temperature affecting the paint and the pressures are quite low so no seals or gaskets are affected. I havn't found anything that compares to the quality of cleaning. The manufacturer is EuroPro of Italy and it is model # EP903. I shall get some photo's and post them when I can.
  10. The reason for the delay, as I hear it, is that they did have a reliability problem in the cylinder heads. This would be the Corsa model, of course. They actually had the bikes crated to ship to the USA and then uncrated them all to check and/or modify all the cylinder heads. The Corsa models are now expected to arrive this month. The exact nature of the problem was not disclosed but I understand it was not catastrophic. I still feel that the Corsa finishing a 12 hour endurance race is all I need to be reassured. P.S. I have ordered a Corsa and I intend to put lights on it. If it becomes road legal I'll let you all know.
  11. I have heard that there will be a kit with the Cosworth developed engine parts to bring the serie up to spec. Maybe it will fit the Griso too. Only time (and money too) will tell!!!!
  12. I didn't read all the details but does this mean we can order our MGS now?
  13. Not on a motorcycle... I go to Bellingham occasionally.
  14. Can we decide who deseves an MGS?
  15. I think that Moto Guzzi should sell the MGS through the V11Lemans.com forum!!!!!
  16. I received an email from Agostini confirming they are closed from Aug 7 to August 22. I wasn't clear on the dates with my first enquiry. They recommend www.biancoblu.com in Milan although they do not rent Moto Guzzi. I think I shall wait til next year and plan a longer holiday - but not in August.
  17. So how many people really would buy an MGS-01 street version? I hear lots of comments but who would commit? By the way I want an MGS-01 Corsa and a Griso. Then I will be happy ......for a while.
  18. I used to get about 35 mpg on my Rosso but that is Canadian mpg - about 30 US mpg. I also ride hard and rarely cruise in 6th gear - more often 4th or 5th because I prefer to keep the revs to 5000 minimum. After installing 11:1 pistons I now get mid 40's under the same condition (I also have Mistrals, PC III and airbox mods but they came first and didn't have much effect on fuel consumption). The bike really isn't any faster in a straight line but is immensely more responsive. I need 94 octane to ride aggressive but can survive 91 octane if I watch manifold pressure.
  19. Thank you Orson. I will check it out. The Guzzi museum is closed. I received an email stating the museum is closed from August 2 to 29. I thank the Moto Guzzi factory for a prompt reply.
  20. I ahd also heard that the museum was open limited hours but Gambalunga has me worried so I have sent an email to the factory. Will keep you posted. Am also disappointed that I won't be able to rent a Moto Guzzi at Agostini's. Ah well, it only means I shall have to return another time - when I can stay 2 weeks and everything is open!!!
  21. Hello Konrad How was the trip to Italy? Any pictures? I'll be travelling a similar route in August. Any suggestions? Anyone else been there?
  22. How about racing a Guzzi against equivalent Japanese bikes and such. Like a Yamaha warrior or equivalent done up in a race chassis. I think in the pushrod class Moto Guzzi would do well. I hope to see the MGS-01 race in Formula Extreme. The Buells have made the top ten a few times even if they are outclassed by the 600 4 cylinder bikes. I was hoping they would have a class here in Canada similar to Pro Thunder but nothing yet here on the west coast. Are you racing this year? How are your results?
  23. OK Al explains it ten times better than me but he ends up with the same result. I will save his explanation for others but he is spot on!!! I just pulled the useless stuff off and hoped for the best!
  24. I want to rate the Moto Guzzi dealer in the lower mainland of British Columbia. Valley Moto Guzzi rocks!!!!!!!! I have been a customer for three years now and I have had minimal problems with Moto Guzzi but I have seen other problems come and go! They have taken each and every problem by the horns and as far as I can see there is a huge group of satisfied customers. Plus we all go riding every weekend when we can! What more can you ask?
