Anyone had experience with the late Marzocchi fork (2004)?
helicopterjim R.I.P. replied to dale-j's topic in 24/7 V11
Yes, even before my first go at the forks this was my intent. I have called, emailed, left messages etc. Got one voicemail back from Rod stating they couldn't work with my swaged cartridges and nothing since. Thinking they are not particularly interested in the headache. Good suggestion, though. Thanks. Sorry to hear that .... he was quite interested in doing mine a few years ago but I do know that his business is doing very well but he finds it hard to get employees that can really do the work. Like you say ... he may not be interested in strange stuff but if it was Ohlins ...... he's probably be all over it. He definitely did not like my Elka shock on my Ducati 749 ..... Hope to see you out there if I ever get home long enough to go for a ride .....!!- 13 replies

If you live in the Fraser Valley and you don't mind spendin a few bucks then try RMR Suspensions in Abbotsford. He can do wonders with the forks .... Traxxion Dynamics kit even. http://www.rmrsuspensions.com/ Otherwise you need to search the site for some of the upgrades done to the Marzocchi's.- 13 replies

There will be a MotoGiro event in British Columbia this fall. Anyone wishing more information please PM me with your email and I can forward the event info. Here is the event basic information. ROCKY MOUNTAIN MOTOGIRO NAKUSP BRITISH COLUMBIA SEPTEMBER 13, 14 AND 15, 2013 Rocky Mountain MotoGiro is an event promoted by the Rocky Mountain Section of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group. It is one day of road riding on public roads at legal speed limits and a second day of closed road timed riding. The event is fashioned after the original Giro Motociclistico d'Italia, an endurance race comprising 3,400 km in 8 legs through mountain roads down the length of the boot. All road racing in Italy was banned in 1957 after a horrific accident in the Mille Miglia race, spelling an end to the Giro. The endurance portion of the Rocky Mountain MotoGiro will take place over 300 kilometers in four legs, points being awarded for the ability of the participant to travel each leg at the average posted speed limit. The event will start and end in Nakusp B.C. The closed road portion of the event will be in Nakusp on the Nakusp Hot Springs road, a 12 km mountain road, mostly up hill. This will be timed with points being awarded in two classes, 125cc and under and 250cc and under. Points will also be awarded for the age of the machine, older machines being awarded more points than newer machines; size of machine, smaller machines being awarded more points than the larger machines and in recognition of the original event and the participants of the time, points will be awarded for the origin of the machine, most points for Italian machines, next for European machines, next for Japanese and American machines Points will be awarded and awards given for fit and finish, judged by a participant's choice A chase vehicle will be following the participants Eligible bikes will be as follows: 250cc for 4 stroke machines up to 1974 200cc for 2 stroke machines from 1970 to 1974 250cc for 2 stroke machines prior to 1970 350cc for machines from to 1949 to 1959 500cc for machines 1939 to 1949 All machines prior to 1939

I can get some extra concert tickets if you get the plane tickets!! I bought my first Hawkwind album in 1974 ... I still have all the LP's up to about 1984 plus some EP's and singles. I'll be setting up the turnatable in the basement this fall if anyone wants to drop by. Don't forget the purple microdot! -
Looks great!! Love the whole package .... I need to get the graphics file for the Rosso Mandello logo ..... I'm going to change my seat to protect the original but I want the logo on the second seat.

Hoping it will be the end of the season in Manitoba (where I am flying) and then fly the helicopter back to Québec (that's where the company I work for is based). Otherwise it will be an airplane ticket on top of the Hawkwind ticket (cheaper than the UK .... just). -
Hawkwind is touring again this year ... including North America!! The tour will feature the album Warrior on the Edge of Time ... one of my favourites ..... (as is every other album). I have tickets to Toronto on October 7th. http://www.hawkwindmuseum.co.uk/tour%20dates.htm#Warrior_On_The_Edge_Of_Time_2 Sorry ... this computer won't let me post the link any other way ...

I've been looking for your posts on wire wheels but can't find them yet ..... found lots of other neat stuff though ..... OK - I found it and saved the data. I don't see the sending unit on eBay but maybe it is on the engine still. The guages do look nice though. -
Aha .... good to here from you. The exhaust worked well but of course I am trying a different exhaust this summer. I need clearance for my saddlebags but I'll probably switch back after my trip in September. I'll be in Ontario for a family reuinion but I'll be ready for an excuse to escape so coming to your rally is really sounding like a good plan!!
-
How about that ... I didn't know about this at all. I just might be in Ontario then so I'll try and drop in although without a Guzzi. Thanks for the post here. Us Western Canada Guzzista don't always hear what you Eastern Canada Guzzista are up to so I am glad you posted. I'll repost this on http://stradavarious.ca to spread the word.

What is the speed sending unit? By the way .. what model was the instrument cluster from ... it doesn't look like a year 2000 set. I can really appreciate how you feel seeing your special project being disembowelled. I know that I will remember where the parts are from that I acquire and they will be given their due respect! -
The radiator cover looks stock but I remember this one now .... faux carbon fiber on the tailpiece and perhaps the alternator cover plus the valve covers are not red. It still looks great and I think you made a great choice.
-
Looks like you have a very good condition and original looking Rosso Mandello. Does it have a serial number on the frame sidecover (between 1 and 300). That is the first series of RM's - the second three hundred did not have a serial number. Great choice .... enjoy!!

Now who is going to brew the beer ....?
-
Fu@k yeah ...... those are awesome. I can put together a sizeable order from the local Guzzi crew so I know you will sell LOTS.
-
The Cortechs look quite nice on your setup and the Ti pipes look fantastic ... great match with your bike. I have Tekno bags and they just touch the pipes. I thought of raising them but not worth the effort for me. I'll post pictures when I can ....

Mmmmmmm ... beeeeeeer!! I really like the Heineken version. The best of all would be a personalized logo so each one of us gets their own favourite beer but ........ Do we now select beer for the currency when we next send you some PayPal funds?
