  1. Oh my - what Jaap says is sooooooo true. My Centauro is actually a litle dangerous on wet roads - it hits like a two-stroke at 5000 and revs to 9000. Oh my ......
  2. Fantastic presentation - what an amazing trip. Well done! I love Liguria - my favourite part of Italy!
  3. Finally - some REAL suede content!
  4. I think that should be glaringly obvious - being that this thread was started by Belfast. It's .... well ..... it's all about the suede man. What else could it be about one could ask? Well ...... nothing else as the posts by Belfast steadfastly prove ... absolutely nothing else! I hope that clears things up for you! Jim
  5. A women lay dying in her bed, her husband by her side. "Dear husband," she said quietly, "I have something to confess to you before I die!" "Dear wife" he answered her. "Lay quietly. You have nothing to confess to me!" "But my dear husband. I slept with your father and your brother and your brothers friend too!" "I know" he answered. "That's why I poisoned you! Now lay there quietly."
  6. I like the GuzziTech exhaust best. It sounds great and it exits on the right side so the rear wheel is fully exposed on the left side. It is also made so well that it could be a work of art just looking at the welds.
  7. It did not have serious problems before as I would always try to use good fuel and not LUG the engine but with the KIT RACING ECU I did not have any noticeable change in the effects of "pinging" on the engine. In fact it seemed that I could induce full throttle at 4,000 rpm with no pinging at all which is an improvement .... different than some people with stock systems!! I know that it is considerably different what I have on my bike but I am very pleased with the results! I can't wait until I get to a dyno .... Oh .. and yes ... I never thought I would have better fuel consumption but then my bikes configuration is different than most but I always thought higher compression meant better midrange and better fuel economy ....
  8. Just a note to add here. I just added the Racing Kit ECU to my bike. I have FBF high comp pistons, FBF exhaust valves (just a different shape), Stucchi crossover, PCIII and raceco valve clearances. The Racing ECU is much better for my setup and I have not yet played with the CO levels, TPS or the PCIII. My fuel economy jumped from 33(US) to 42(US) and the midrange response is markedly improved - 4,000 to 4,500 rpm. I only use 91 octane minimum and prefer 92 or 94 if I can find it but I also never give full throttle below 3,500 rpm. There is a lot of science behind that but just ask an old fashioned airplane pilot or mechanic (piston guys) and they'll set you straight. Enjoy your bike!!!!
  9. I changed my ECU to one from the Racing Kit - factory ECU meant for the Titanium exhaust. What a difference. My fuel burn went from about 40-42 (UK) to 50-51 (UK) first ride. I have not even taken the time to adjust CO levels or check TPS voltage - let alone play with the power commander. Very pleased with the performance as well - no glitches and more responsive midrange. I have FBF high comp pistons and FBF exhaust valves plus Stucchi crossover and Mistral exhaust - I may put the Titaniums on but for now I'm happy!
  10. 40 MPG(UK) = 33.3 MPG(US) I get about 40-42 (UK) with the best close to 50 - cruising.
  11. He has a set of plastic models - a single cylinder, a four cylinder and an eight cylinder. I guess what's wrong is they are only plastic?!
  12. If it is in good shape yes - but some of them are going on 10 years life or more (I have one with 11 years). I should have elaborated that I put the tender on on once a month for about a day or my older battery won't hold up.
  13. LIKE THEY SAID - PARK IT! FIX IT!
  14. Another possible air leak could be the the throttle butterfly shaft wearing the throttle body housing. This has happened to a friend of mine - left side - high miles. Open the throttle slightly whilst reaching down and put your finger on the bottom of the housing - directly onto the end of the shaft. You will probably be able to move it slightly if it is not worn but if it moves about 1/8th of an inch or approximately 6 mm as my friends does than you likely have an intake leak there.
  15. Great pictures! Thanks! I've been to quite a few "height of lands" in my day but I'm still looking for a "width of land".
  16. Good question but I've been using fuel stabilizer for years with no ill effects - never even thought of it!
  17. 1: Add fuel stabilizer and fill gas tank with fuel - high grade with NO methanol. 2: Buy a battery tender and keep your battery on the tender all winter. 3: Change the oil before storage. If you decide to run your bike then run the bike for at least ten minutes as it will build up water vapour during short runs. Then you may want to change your oil again in the spring. 4: Oil in cylinders not necessary - especially if you run the bike once a month. 5: A stand is not necessary but handy (a bike stored upright takes up less space). Don't worry about suspension and check your tire pressure in spring. Lots of other things you can do but fuel stabilizer and battery tender are most important!
  18. I always liked any of the posts from Slavomir and this one sums him up best of all - what a passion!!
  19. So long Slavomir - maybe meet you someday .....
  20. Well she's not wearing gloves!!! Who's going to wipe her bum if she falls off and scrapes her hands? Line starts here!
  21. ... that's not what she told me ..... Oh .... sorry ..... wrong wife!!!!
  22. Perhaps one of those non-rabbits got him! It can happen, you know!
  23. I was going to post but I changed my mind. I'll post somewhere else, thank you.
  24. I've been looking for that option too! Nice to hear someone having fun from the simple pleasure of just riding!
