Nik Turner's Sphynx! Steve Hillage, Miquette Giraudy, the Massed Bongos of Atlantis!! By the late 70's they had some unique stuff happening that I was listening to quite frequently! The earlier stuff was a bit rough for me as well.
Yes, well so am I, but at least my lawn mower has a mulching feature which makes the hacking up of green stuff considerably easier.
Hooters? That shouldn't get boring at all!!
Found a link for a free download of the Continental Circus by Gong. I wanted to hear Blues for Findlay. Some of the other tracks have racing sounds in the background. Quite interesting. I may have some new music for driving!

The Grimshaw Motor Inn in Alberta. Very Grim indeed.
Stuck there once because of a hockey tournament in Peace River. No hotel rooms for 50 miles and I had just finished a harrowing day of flying (hydraulic control failure whilst setting the top of a hydro transmission tower and 4 crew on the tower - most memorable occasion I would ever prefer to forget).
Found a room finally in grimshaw but only one room to be shared by 3 of us. Get there and find room is over the zoo. The 'zoo' is where roughnecks and indians converge to renew the indian wars of the late 1800's. Also the only payphone was outside the door and it seemed to only function when someone had to argue with their wife. Attempting to determine how 3 guys would sleep in 2 single beds we settled on drawing straws as to who slept on the floor. This wasn't so great because soon after the lights were out so were the mice. At first they only bounded over the gent sleeping on the floor but soon they got to making high speed pases across the beds. We finally managed to get a bottle of whisky from the front desk and after consuming it in about 20 minutes we all fell asleep not caring about much.
The price for this adventure? A full 20 dollars - for all three of us. In the morning we asked if the twenty dollars was spent on cheese for the mice.
Burn it down? I don't think the SPCA would condone the killing of that much wildlife!!
Jack Findlay was an Australian Grand Prix road racer competing on the Grand Prix circuit from 1961 to 1978. He won the first ever 500 GP for a 2 stroke, the first win for Michelin and the first 500 win for Suzuki. He rode Suzuki TR500s in 1973 and 1974. In 1974 he was a member of the Suzuki factory racing team and helped develop the RG500. He won the Isle of Man TT after 15 years of trying in 1973. He won the Formula 750 World Championship in 1975. He also raced a Moto Guzzi 750S in the 1972 Imola 200.
Both he and Giacomo Agostini starred in a French documentary movie from 1969 called Continental Circus. I've never seen it but I have heard it is one of the best racing movies ever.
He retired from racing and became MotoGP's technical director.
He passed away today at the age of 71.
He lived in France and is survived by his wife Dominique.
I think so but I also found this bit of info from a Dutch website that says otherwise. Unfortunately I don't know where the info came from so I guess it would be a point for RAZ - even though i had to give the clue about part 3!!
I found pretty much the same info except for one very well written but so far unsubstantiated difference. I so far cannot say you are wrong but then there is still another part of the quiz not answered correctly (ie #3).
Check yer closest bar. He's assuredly there! Trust me!
Sorry I missed you Sunday. Forgot about another prior engagement - or at least I tried to forget!
You just might be right except I found information that he only demonstrated the bike but didn't ride it in the movie. I'll save my info for a bit til you have a chance to delve further!
A clue. A famous Scotsman in a top hat and tails.
At least you weren't rubbing guts!!
All I did today was spread bark mulch in the flower beds and test fly a Bell 206 JetRanger. I can say that spreading bark mulch can be a Royal Pain in the Ar$e but the 206 was fun!!
Ahah! Found it. But its the old one. I have a new graph after a bit of cleaning up the leanness and it helped the big Tq dip but the dip is still pronounced. peak HP is up a couple too!
Wow! Ratchet sure gets upset when someone points out something different or unusual in his posts. I wonder how Dave feels.
Maybe I'll go find my MGS dyno graph. It sure had lots of Tq at 3500 rpm.
Perhaps it is because the forum knows the right answer and that is not it?! I do notice that IMDB doesn't show the name of the rider my info says was the actual rider.
Sorry! I should have qualified that with "I only bump up the idle when I am riding agressively on winding roads". It can be quite uncomfortable for normal driving.
I only wish my fast idle lever would stay on when I use it but it only lasts a minute or so.
Aren't we all?
...... and here I thought he was a "dike hiking tulip stomper"!!! Ahhh yes! I remember the photo's of the 'dike incident'!!
... and his birthday is coming up soon!!!
