  1. Michelin hustled the tyre away at light speed and we may never know but the tyre had Rossi "scared" as he put it! Whatever. He who crosses the line first - wins!
  2. ..... and a fine, exciting race it was!!! Crashes, bashes and passes !! Lots of passing and lots of position changes and the final order wasn't sure until the last corner. I think I might consider Bridgestone tires next time. Perhaps they should be called BridgeStoners??
  3. Dave. Lugging is a bad thing. Power is Ok at higher revs but at low revs DO NOT give it full power. This is not good for it. It isn't really good for any engine at any point in its life (Harleys excepted).
  4. Most rednecks know slow food as a 3 legged deer. Speaking of which, anyone heard from TX lately? Todd Haven, have you heard from him?
  5. I don't know about the rare and old ones but I can see why they hold onto the young ones! I do know there are a few T 3's here in british columbia but I rarely see them.
  6. So most anyone could race an RZ but there is an exclusive few who race Cagiva's. Sounds like why we ride Moto guzzi's. Again another point to consider. I will enjoy the new 4 stroke classes of MotoGP 2&3. Racing is racing and the bike is secondary especially in image. I don't imagine that many people watch MotoGP to see a Yamaha race but there are many who go to see Rossi race. There are however many who go, if partially, to see Ducati race. The article you referenced stated that Ducati and Aprilia are in favour so might this imply small displacement bikes from these manufacturers?
  7. I miss the 2 strokes as well but I sense that reality has relegated them to vintage status and as such will probably only be enjoyed at vintage races. On that note do you miss the old TD 1's and the like and their unmuffled stingers shreiking like banshee's?
  8. I am only going by what was passed on to the mechanic at Valley Moto Guzzi as he learned from the service course he attended. I would like to know if engine management is affected. Maybe Greg Field can shed some light on this atter. I call it the wheelie button because you have to hold the button down before starting to deactivate the ABS.
  9. I agree with the hard evidence but it still isn't all the evidence. I would still like to see paper filters tested under a full range of humidity levels - not 67.82% or less. For those of us who live here on the 'wet coast' those levels of humidity occur for about 4 monthes of the year. I spoke to a K&N salesman once who stated that they don't like to compare their filters to paper filters in dry climates as the paper filters outperform the K&N's. He prefers rainy days when the paper filters perform very poorly. Only words but if the Duramax test had a full range of humidities then it may show how well the paper filters work under all conditions. By the way I do have a Duramax diesel and I do use a paper filter. I also find that it plugs up quickly in winter monthes with what looks like lint from a dryer. In the summer time it accumulates dirt and dust as expected but is easy to clean out the filter rather that replacing it monthly. I can not clean it in winter monthes.
  10. Hopefully with at least three Norges in the group we can travel to wine country and they can pack many bottles of vino for us!! If only could find the road to beer country ....
  11. I shall pass the word on to them. There are 3 Norges in Chilliwack plus 2 more close by. I have to say that the black does look nice but the red still catches my eye best. Vivian, who bought a red Norge, can not stop talking about it. She is a slender person but she says the Norge still feels as light as her LeMans. I have decided that if I get a Norge I'll have to rename the ABS button the 'wheelie' button. With the ABS engaged the engine management will not allow wheelies or burnouts!. Does mean that the ABS controls both braking and engine power?
  12. Valley Moto Guzzi in Chilliwack have sold their first Norges almost as quickly as they have arrived. Three silver and three red!!
  13. StradaVarious time!!! Several BC Guzzi riders got together last weekend to check out the new Norges of Bruce and Vivian (hers is red!!) and to make a plan for some summertime rides. Fairly informal and we intend it to stay that way. A few things were decided. We will have our ride meetings on the first Sunday of each month. The first meeting will be Sunday, May 6 at the Travelodge in Chilliwack. We will meet at the resaurant for breakfast at 9:00 am and from there all who want to ride will decide where we will go. The intentions are to stay informal and very loosely organised. There will be no elections (except the last person to arrive will be President that day) and no riding rules except ride with respect, no passing in corners and if you ride ahead of the group then you must know the route and wait at the next turnoff. Everyone who wishes to ride is invited and we hope that this will lead to some longer rides and even meeting up with the Washington riders. If you would like more information PM me with your email and I'll get you on the newsletter. Cheers Jim
  14. Do you think you could blur it and scale it down a little more? I can still tell that it is a motorcycle!!
  15. The 'radial' design allows a larger bore to the piston permitting a shorter stroke by the lever. I know that Brembo lists several combinations of bore and stroke for their radial master cylinders but most of them are for racing applications and the variation is to suit different riders needs. The other reason why? Perhaps they are cool and trendy .
  16. OH no!!! Jaap! You have the PCIII team out for you now! Here is what Antonio is hoping you mean; Here is what Antonio is hoping you don't mean;
  17. What the hell izh that?
  18. A Satellite!! It's either that or a Wagon Wheel or a Vicious or a .......... Date and manufacturer? No idea - yet.
  19. Global warming. Whatever. One foot of snow April 2nd and forecast to be 22 degrees on Friday. I'm getting my bikes out and at least putting day permits on them. When you get over to Valley check out the Aprilia Motard. Sensible commuting written all over it!! I'll make sure your Tenni gets polished before you get there!! Cheers Jim
  20. Because he went and bought a Norge but I'm gonna look at it first so back off buster!!! Seriously though it is a great bike, well kitted out and very well maintained - by Big Gord of course!! I may look at it for my wife but she is still leary of 1100cc and wants a Breva 750. Come look and don't forget to call me. I'll be on time off for 2 weeks starting this Wednesday. (April 13 is track day at Mission - MGS time!!) Cheers Jim
  21. We wouldn't use a brush. We use a broom up here!
  22. I have plastic calipers. I find them extremely useful. I have had a set for over 20 years and they get used quite frequently.
