Everything posted by helicopterjim R.I.P.

  1. Moto Morini Tresette. Aermacchi Ala D'Oro
  2. I own a laverda 750 SFC so I can understand your bias. (sorry for mis-spelling sport - I can't edit the poll) Laverda SFC
  3. Since someone asked for photo's I will include a few to clear up what you are voting for! Bimota DB1
  4. Classic bikes from the seventies. I included the Sports Motorcycles Ducati that Mike Hailwood rode at the Isle of Man because that is one of my all time favourites and the man and bike did more to inspire me to go racing than anything else!!
  5. Here are some more bikes to vote for that come from an earlier era. I posted this poll earlier but it accidently got deleted.
  6. Brian - and Ryan - and Steve and perhaps a few more. It is winter here in Canada so no hurry for parts. Perhaps we could all get together and order a large batch and have them shipped together. Easy for us lower mainlanders to sort out but easy enough to forward on to Alberta or the Island (eh Van?) I will be in for 3 and I'll talk to Valley about some extras. If we could get a bulk order shipping may be quite reasonable. i myself can wait a month or two for a fine product like this!!
  7. As I said - this I know! As to details - this I do not know! I can give you a few personal experiences but it will have to be by PM.
  8. I do apologise as you did reccomend it but I only had 20 choices and I had to trim a few. My apologies and I appreciate your concern.
  9. Here is my take on this race. Everyone in MotoGP is a racer and I believe they will all race for the win. If they didn't they shouldn't be there! That being said (and no it does not explain Dani Pedrosa but I think that scenario is more complicated than we will ever know) I can say that after the first day that Bridgestone is working hard to get a good qualifying tyre. Up until now their Q-tyres have been a little hit and miss. This time they have a good Q-tyre and also Capirossi has also put in some fantastic consecutive laps on race tyres (as well as Randy the Pee and Chris the Vee) so the Michelin crowd have got to be wondering if this is the big factor. Of course tomorrow is another day and it still is not even race day but what a great start to the ultimate equation of Rossi and Hayden - who are both on Michelins. I can hardly wait for the results of tomorrow. The rumours of Capirossi riding the 800cc bike are off. He is here to be a factor in the championship - one way or another. Marco will ride to win - as will all - and perhaps tyres will be a big factor in who wins - and who wins the title - but rest assured - Sunday will be the race everyone will talk about and remember for many years. Oh yes. My prediction is the fastest rider will win. The one with the most points will take the championship!! Most, if not all of the riders will get laid within 24 hours of the finish of the race. This I know! Cheers Jim
  10. Fake smile whilst wearing the Honda clothes. True smile whenst closest to a Moto Guzzi! Logic prevails!!
  11. I thought we had a deal you would delete everything but the MGS .......? I guess it was too complicated having the other era's to choose from. I considered the 1100i and the Centauro as well but it is close to the Daytona in style and i had to make a choice and as for the Centauro I think it has inner beauty that would not be apparent for a sexiest selection.
  12. Help Jaap!! It seems to have come up twice. I don't know how i did it but can you delete the duplicate so we do not dilute the poll? Thanks Jim
  13. This is the last installment. I could only post 20 choices but there could have been more. I settled on Bimota Tesi because I could not choose between the 1D and the 2D. I included the magni bikes here because they are timeless as well as not really having a specific year of manufacture. They are part 70's but modern at the same time. I included an Aprilia because no one else mentioned it. I didn't want it to feel left out. When these polls have run their course I will be selecting the top choices from the polls to make a final poll for the SEXIEST MOTORCYCLE EVER!!!!!
  14. Fast Practice 2 is over and Bridgstone shod Ducati, Kawasaki and Suzuki's are leading the way. This would not be good for Nicky Hayden as he needs the better points spread of the first few places to beat Rossi. This is going to be an exciting weekend.
  15. Air ye goin daun yair hole agin?
  16. Probably from one of the extra valves.
  17. I am very proud of the reconstruction and replacement they have done there. I have also made it one of my "must do" visits for my next time in the UK. Thank you for a fine set of photo's and commentary!! Jim
  18. We all got together at Nummies pub in Newry and got on the piss bigtime. Don't bother dropping in though 'cause we used your name for the tab and then ran like the blazes!! Oh yeah. The whole reason for meeting there was all the girls from the Hooters thread were there to meet us all. It was the best time ever!!
  19. After looking at Martins last post it has not found its footing - it has hoof and mouth disease!!
  20. That method is much better than the Russian way of trimming trees! Russian heli-logging!
  21. If Nicky had taken out Pedrosa on the bump pass he made a couple of laps previous we would say he f*cked up too! I am still trying to imagine Ryan as an American. I'll be laughing for a week!
  22. One sags lower than the other ....
  23. Oooooooh yeah! I think this is a Guzzi that wants to wheelie! I don't want a Griso anymore. I want a stage II 1200S!!
