  1. I don't have any specs to quote but the new leathers I have ordered are of the 'next generation' with composite leather material. If you look at a closeup of any MotoGP riders leathers they are looking more like a cloth material now. When I get mine I'll try and pass on what they are like but supposedly they are almost as well vented as any textile and more abrasion resistant than plain leather. Don't ask what they cost. I havn't got the bill yet!
  2. I have a 4x4 3/4 ton pickup truck. Totally unrelated to my biking styles. It is necessary for most of the places I go to work and great for camping trips. Not very appropriate for city use unless picking up lumber or such. I once had a 1968 Camaro SS 350 - many years ago. Closest to an Italian car was my ex wifes Renault Gordini. I ripped all the smog kit off it and changed the exhaust. It would top out at an indicates 125 mph and was a blast to drive.
  3. Updated the link. Here it is again!! The Shed!!
  4. How many MotoGP bikes have uneven firing orders? Probably all of them so the 180 Laverda was ahead of its time!!
  5. If so then I am glad he is not telling us!!
  6. ..or at least send her something!!
  7. I could bring my racing licence too!
  8. Well now. That is a really nice surprise. I actually may be crossing the water in May to visit my neice so now I will have to make those plans match up. I wonder what they will think of my leathers when they check me at customs..... By the way I really would enjoy having a ride but mostly I would have a lot of fun just coming to a track day and meeting you fellows! I'll keep in touch on this one!
  9. That is a concept I will be promoting in my home!
  10. Do you have a loaner bike? I might come.
  11. Reminds me of a joke. What goes 99 thump, 99 thump, 99 thump? A centipede with a wooden leg!
  12. Soebody doesn't want to share their sandbox with Max. My Pitbox! Stay away!! (same link as in MotoGP thread - applies here too)
  13. I found someone else who prefers WSC to MotoGP. Opinion!
  14. As I have said before - it is OK to dump your girlfriend but don't dump your bike. Thinking over your dilemma I can see that if you have a bike that dumps you, you either fix it, get used to its quirky riding style or get rid of it. Always remember this too. It doesn't matter who you feel put you in a hole as long as you get yourself out!!!
  15. Well it turns out that Belfast and Antonio didn't go on a Mediterranean cruise but instead went to New Zealand. Vacation P.S. Thanks and inspiration to Martin. It seemed to fit here better.
  16. Belfast would be proud of where this thread is going!!
  17. Amanda? Is this you? Amanda
  18. Why didn't they have this cartoon on TV when I was a boy? Call of Duty - Wabbit Season
  19. Strange. When I think of the character who posts on this forum I cannot imagine him to be called David.
  20. New scam in shopping mall parking lots I am writing to warn you of something that happened to me, as I am the victim of the latest scam while shopping. This took place at the Brentwood Safeway, and it could happen to you. Here's how the scam works. Two good looking women come to your car as you are placing your shopping in your car. One starts by wiping your windscreen while the other comes round to you saying "Hi", while bending over with her breasts almost coming out of her blouse. It will be impossible not to look. Then they beg you for a ride to McDonalds. You would naturally agree and they will sit in the back seat. On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and performs oral sex on you, while the other one steals your wallet. I was robbed last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but I couldn't find them Saturday or Sunday. Be warned!
  21. I've always wondered how best to design a work shop! Now I think I have found the answer!! The Shed!
  22. You mean this pictue?
  23. I'll pass on here what I sent to Guy, plus maybe a few other things I can remember. I have had the FBF pistons for 3 years now. I have enjoyed them the entire time and really have not had any problem at all with them. The FBF pistons do not (to me) make a big difference on top end. Where they make the most difference is the mid range, 4000 to 6500 rpm. The motor is much more responsive. When riding with other V11's my bike has a much greater reaction time during roll-on's and initially accellerates quicker. I don't believe it has any more horsepower on the top end but definitely in the midrange. As Steve G has seen it is quite easy to wheely my bike. I hope to get some dyno time happening this spring and invite other V11 guys so we can compare maps from the same dyno. I don't have any problems with detonation. I always use the best grade fuel i can get. The few times I have had to use lower grade fuel I just use an old trick from piston aircraft pilots. Keep the rpm's up and the manifold pressure down. This means I ride the bike at minimum 4000 rpm and don't twist the throttle too hard. I have only had it ping when I forgot to do this (on low grade fuel). The installation is straightforward and only takes a few hours. The first noticeable difference is the exhaust note is quite a bit sharper. When I first installed the pistons I had a Mistral crossover which helped the midrange quite a bit. I later switched to a Stucchi srossover which is better for top end power. The boost in midrange from the pistons more than compensates for the Mistral crossover. I also added the FBF stainless valves. I have not noticed any benefit but they are shaped a little different and are supposed to last longer. Another benefit of the FBF pistons is when cruising I get another 20 to 30 km from a tank full of fuel. I also can get quite a bit less when twisting the throttle a lot. I am very pleased with the FBF pistons.
  24. Twice even. MAX and REMAX. If Max goes to F1 then will Rossi want to go too, just to try and beat him?
