Ben, a word of caution....I just had something similar happen to me around Christmas time. I got the original estimate from the dealer/repair shop and submitted to the insurance company (after making numerous calls and finally ended up with a call to NJ) who paid failry prompltly. However, after taking off the fairing, etc. they found more damage and the second payment took forever to get out of them. Not they wouldn't pay, just that they kept asking for more info, needed another appriasor visit, yadda yadda.... Not sure how to advise, cept for getting it right the first time. BTW, I did the upgrade thing with the dealer on the side with the insurance company knowledge also. Thanks for keeping it honest, most people take advantage of the situation, which ofcourse always gets past on the rest of the consumers cause I can gaurenteeeeeee the insurance company is covered.

the June Issue of Cycle World just gave a pretty good review on the Givi Arrow saddlebags. Here is their website.. http://www.giviusa.com/index.cfm?fuseactio...odid=saddlebags

For MG bags, give Kirt a call at Atlantic Motosports in Jacksonville Florida. http://www.atlanticmotosports.com/ I have seen lots of bags there in his shop. Good Luck,

I am a little surprised that 76 people looked at this thread (measly 1 thread thread) and didn't comment on the Indian motor. I guess it was because of the disappointment that the model was fully clothed. Oh well, some day I may get up the nerve of showing models like I have seen on V11LeMans (except for that one I saw long ago from that big state in the south (not naming any places since it might give away more than is necessary)). I'll just have to upload under an alias while the misses isn't looking!

I thought the sound went the other way! When the clutch lever is pulled in you don't hear the clank...when you let out the clutch lever, you hear the sound. Mayabe we are saying the same thing...I guess when you pull in the clutch lever, the clutch is out (disengaged)?

sounds like a great afternoon....those are the kind of days that make having to go to work okay. In fact they make the work day pass by faster.

did you guys see the latest article in MotoEuro on the MG Nevada? The article is titled " Defined Heritage" then goes on to talk about the V-Twin being a staple for Moto Guzzi for nearly 40 years. Then they show a picture and talk about a 1942 Indian 841, which was commissioned by the American Government to compete against the German Army's BMW sidecars. See for yourself... The author can only speculate on the influence the Indian had on the Guzzi designers. I suppose the rest of the artlicle does the Nevada justice (I wouldn't know, never rode one), but the rest of the magazine has articles on the Triumph Daytona 650, the Texas Ceeger, Mondial 125 Bialbero, 1953 Norton side-valve single, KTM 990 Superduke, RGS Laverda, AJS 31 CSR, Daytona Orange BMW R90, Ducati 999R, etc. Great magazine.

Al, just read through all the threads you posted on vapor lock and am amazed at how much knowledge is held in this forum. I used to work on drilling rigs and experienced vapor lock on diesel engines, but they basically would not run when experiencing VL. I was thrown off a little becuase the V11 would run, just not worth a shit. I noticed you looked into JC Whitney heat shield, did it work? I also know a guy who works at Grumman, maybe he can pick me up some aircraft line like was mentioned. Thanks again.

I take it from the replies so far, that there is nothing to indicate that the wrap affects the performance of the machine negatively. You know, what if there was some wireless temperature probe in the exhausts that affected the computer which affected the fuel injection sequence or something! In answer to the use of wrap try reading http://www.thermotec.com/technology/how/how.html I consider the performance enhancement to be equivalent to putting on the new Ti pipes but haven't actually dyno'd it. To see dyno's from racing engines see http://www.thermotec.com/technology/dynamo...ynamometer.html I definately saw the difference on my custom softail, and confederate uses it on all their bikes.

Yesterday I wrapped my exhaust pipes with heat tape (see attach). I rode for a couple of hours (up to the Jax Blues Festival), got a ticket for parking with all the other bikes in the wrong zone, then rode home. The bike ran good until I tried to restart it about 30 minutes later. The engine was missing terribly, wouldn't go over 4000 rpm with out dying and generally acted like "bad Gas". I had filled up at BP but so did my daughter and her bike shows no symptoms. Woke up this morning, the bike started fine, sounds good, but has me worried. Do you know of any reason why wrapping the pipes could cause this defiant behavior?

I've got a little slope to the driveway, so have tried bump starting to get away without waking up the misses. All I've got to say is that it don't work to good in 2nd gear, next time will try 3rd.

Never used a GPS for the road but have used one extensively while sailing. It is amazing what the contraption can tell you. In a foreign port, you know where the closest loo is, where the post office is, where the laundry mat is, where to fuel up....the list just goes on. This is the age of information integration (i^3).

Anyone interested in this stock fairing off my 2002 Scura. It has a 2" crack in the clear shield, right by the fairing. Pay the shipping and it's yours. If the picture doesn't show , send me an email. I will forward it to you. thx

I know I don't know all the various Guzzi models, but I was wondering why everyone was talking about a Scura that had black front forks. I learn something everyday. Welcome Frankie and nice Corretto.

I have some scratches on my carbon fiber cans. I would like to sell them on the classified ads or perhaps ebay, but figure the scratches may discourage buyers. Is there a proper treatment or repair that can be made? I have access to a really good painter here in st. augustine, FL who did an excellent job on one of my other bikes. See picture. Please let me know.

i deleted this post and the pictures to give me more file space. sorry, couldn't figure out quickly any other way of getting rid of an ad.

Wouldn't you know it... ... after getting advice from reading this forum, I decided quite awhile back to upgrade my exhausts on my 2002 Scura to the titanium cans but was having problems locating some (the classic back order phenomema). I had contacted quite a few places (even Tex's favorite) but always heard the same story. I looked into other cans but thinking there wasn't a shop close enough to where I live to adjust the computer thing, I was resolved to waiting. Well, talking with the Duc mechanic, I found out there was such a shop about 45 minutes north, so in checking them out, the owner Kirt says, "Oh, I've had 4 pair of those cans in stock, just sold the 3rd set to a guy in Puerto Rico and have one left." I said let me see what they look like up next to the bike. They looked great, I bought them, brought them home and installed them and am now in bliss. The sound is awesome, the power seems increased, and they look great. It just goes to show, look in your back yard if you want to find what you are looking for! Here is the local shop's web site... Kirt says his online shopping is taking off. http://www.atlanticmotosports.com/index.htm ciao

Tex, here is what i got when I clicked on your link.... A page referred you to a direct media link on our site. Please go back and request the author link to the page which the media file was on, rather than media file itself. jfyi

Hey Rosso Mandello, apologize for changing the subject but are your valves cover red anodized metal or are they painted? I am looking for some for my 2001 Scura.
