Yesterday I spent the day at Daytona test riding various models (bmw k1200s, bmw k1200rs, Griso). After riding the Griso, I got on my Scura and rode the 50 miles back home. I am so totally pumped on how well the Scura is running (got 30K miles on it), that I wouldn't trade for the Griso. Sure the Griso has a lot of nice plastic (that doesn't compare to my Carbon Fiber IMO), Sure it goes into first gear without a clunk (just like dipping "it" in to a bucket of lard), Sure it has a little less vibration....but damn, where is the soul? I'll have to admit that Ti pipes on the Scura add to sensory impact, but even with that, running down the interstate in the 5000 to 6000 rpm range (just a little over the speed limit, officer) there is no question of LIFE! I just didn't get that rush from the Griso (no disrespect intended for Griso owners...and to each his own). Oh well, the misses is happy, she was afraid I was going to buy something while I was in Daytona. BTW, some guys chased me down on the interstate in a brand new 3/4 Ton pick up truck just to give me the 'thumbs up/ cool bike/wish I had one' sign. I gave them the nod then left them in the dust....

MV Monomoto Unique Motorcycle Art Here a fun story from the owner of this very special monocycle. The machine is not rideable. "This MV Augusta 60cc Monomoto Superleggera is the experimental machine ridden by young wealthy Italian Luiggi Bandini, during practice for the 1954 Milano-Taranto Road Race. Bandini tragically lost control in a misty mountain section, while waving to a pretty spectator. His grief stricken father, Count Enzio Bandini, “The Falcon,” never again permitted anyone to ride or even view this advanced design, and knowledge of its whereabouts faded. Eventually, rumors of this fascinating machine reached the motorcycling bon vivant Todd Fell. On a trip to Naples, Italy, his quest to find it was rewarded at the Bandini country villa, where in 2004, fifty years after the tragic accident, the late Count’s family was persuaded to part with the treasure."

Assist please--won't start **fixed-neutral switch**
st. augustine replied to stormsedge's topic in Technical Topics
felix42o, thx...I went out to look for a violet wire and found one in front of the shifter, under/below the starter. had to peel back the rubber cap, saw that there was some corrosion on the plug, so cleaned it off. will see if it made a difference tomorrow. thanks again. -

don't mean to hijack, but am having some trouble with my nuetral light also (scura). sometimes when pulling up to a stop light and I down shift to nuetral, the nuetral light doesn't come on (no big deal...been happening since I bought it). But now, if I put down the the kickstand it kills the motor (don't remember that happening, could be going senile though). Also, sometimes the light doesn't work even from a cold start. Other times the light works just fine. so to get to the question??? where is the switch on the gear shifter you guys are talking about? I know about the switch on the kickstand, which I clean periodically. but I don't see any electrics on the shift lever. appreciate the help. also, stormedge, might meet you at Kirts sometime so we can head over to a coffee shop. -
I have got a set on my champaign lemans from paulimoto racing that I picked up from myers ducati I think there made by some guys out west, but the cool thing that I really liked is that they are red inodized and match the other red anodizing on the bike and look much better than the stock silver. Walt Bowen Atl. GA Alt.Guzzi, do have a pic? Definately would like some red anodized guards for the Scura.

just got back from 3 months in argentina. went from the north of iguazu falls down to 'fin del mundo'. met one guy on a 650 V-strom dong the alaska to ushuaia trip (http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeoxhzy/) and another set of jokers doing brazil to ushuaia (http://www.paleriders.org/). They used ayers to rent the bikes from and gave them rave reviews (http://ayresadventures.com/). Though 99% of the bikes were less than 185cc, they were driven by the daring traveling through traffic like the best slalom skiers. Only the cops (or the touristas) had the big big bikes. Here is a picture of one...hope you recognize it.

fernando, hope the check up goes well....i live in st. augustine about 45 minutes north of daytona, send me a pm and maybe we can ride down together. You might consider taking the butler hiway east of the clinic to ponte vedra and ride down hiway A1A along the coast. It's not real curvey, but there will be a lot of bikes on the road...kind of gives you "the running with the pack" feeling.

am taking a break from things and am spending some time with my wife in Buenos Aires, etc. I sure miss the riding though. Thought I would share some bike pics from around town.

I don't have cable, sat, or tv ears so was wondering if anyone knows if the race will be offered on the web. It doesn't look like speedtv will have it live, as far as I can tell.

OK, this is the reply that I got from Shiva (moderator on the BMW messge board) and he got it from the company that produced that video: title: ISTIKHBAR /OMBRE ELLE by: Gnawa Diffusion CD: sampler ¿ARABESQUE¿ it's a studio remix for the video, so the actual CD may not be exactly like what you heard on the video. by the way, to see the complete and uncut version of the video with the stripper club scenes go to shiva's site @: http://www.BMW-K.com/video.htm
