  1. Hi folks, Does anybody have any contacts / links for bike hire in Eire. Prefrably in / around Dublin? TIA Nige.
  2. Great!.....Now you got something else to look at to fret about! Seriously..... Neat job. Nige.
  3. Is it the back plate off the saddle lock? The shape looks vaguely familiar. Nige.
  4. Well, the idea when I read it didn't sound like it would work for me. ...but actually seeing it..... I like that, and it is still growing on me too! Nige.

    Time to move on

Aye well y'see it is all comparative, innit? If you are used to sleeping on a flight of stairs a landing is bliss! Nige.

Yep one of the Jackal / Stone derivatives like mine is woth consideration. Nige.
  7. Smart outfit! Good value too! Nige.
  8. I think it would be a lot more fun if they played with three balls at once. That way you would get more opportunity for entertaining creative cheating as the ref would be kept very busy. You would also get sensible scorelines like 395 - 3. Nige.
  9. Looks smart! Neat job. You are going to market them? Nige.
  10. Just for the record. Does anyone know what the stock dimension and tolerance should be? Nige.
  11. Housing is cracked. Probably what allowed it to be spat off it the first place? I think it is time for a new assembly. Shame there isn't an alternative cable that fits...Apparently the thumbwheel nut thread is a different diameter on the later boxes. I wonder if an adaptor could be fabricated? Luigi has this one sewn up good and proper! Never had this problem on the old Tonti 5 speeders...... Ah them were the days! Bouncy bouncy needle all day long....Not a problem Thanks for the replies, guys! Appreciated! Nige.
  12. Well that hasn't happened......YET! ..So I will probbably cake the new one in araldite there just to be sure, to be sure! Hmmmm wonder where that is then? Probably spat itself down the road the first time it exploded? Nige.
  13. I checked all the bits and pushed it together and tried gluing it twice unsuccessfully. It is OK in the garage and it goes SPROING! by the time I get to the end of the road. I am not convinced it works at all now TBH Anyway, I have lockwired it into position now. It is making cracking and graunching noises and works after a fashion in the garage. I reckon it is thoroughly turked now TBH. Going to try it this evening, but don't have high hopes! I reckon I will lockwire the new one BEFORE it explodes! Feckin thing! Well happy! Nige.
  14. Thanks very much for the comprehensive reply BFG. Aye, what keeps happening is the cap and worm drive keep popping off the metal bits of the assembly. I'll try wiring it similar to your efforts. You have managed to get it done pretty neatly. I doubt I will be as successful! Jeez, how naff do we have to go to hold these things together! Nige.
  15. Aye, this maybe the case. Just trying to find the best solution here TBH. How did you lash yours together then BFG? Nige.
  16. Can I take it this isn't a common problem then? Nige.
  17. Great... It didn't even get up the road before disintegrating again! Nige.
  18. I like both the Scura and the Tonti framed Cali for different reasons. The Scura is surer footed and well planted, if a little tall in the saddle. The Cali is softer lower and more forgiving. I like the lower seat height. As both bikes are new (ish) they are both taut, which is good. Actually, the Cali is a total hoot to ride now I have upgraded with a second front disc. It is great to ride it as it shouldn't be ridden! Nige.
  19. Well everything seems to be located OK. It just isn't filling me wiith confidence that it will hold together. TBH I would rather do away with it or upgrade it if it is a possibility. Nige.
  20. I looked for this info the other week and found some useful info.... Didn't write it down......Now I can't find it! OK So after a few hundred miles of bouncy bouncy speedo started to read nuffink at all times. A brief examination led me to a diagnosis of a self-disassembled angle drive. All the bits were still present and correct so I have glued it back together for now. Not impressed though now I get the speedo leaping downwards as I wheel it backwards, and unpleasant clicking, and back to bouncy bouncy whilst going forward. Don't have faith that it will last long. Will retro fitting a later cable be possible? I would like to dump this dodgy component if possible? Any other issues I should be aware of? Thanks for your patience and indulgence! Nige.
  21. Just had one stab at it.... 1 min 42. Nige
  22. [Nodding Dog Mode] OhhhhYessss! Nige.

    V11 big service

I found a small amount of muck / swarf the first time I dropped the Scura sump off at 6,000miles. So I'll second ( or third ) the suggestion! Nige.
