  10. That is true, Bob. As I said I am removing a lot of the naff stuff. First there was the 'Eagle Spirit' ( Spare me! ) Chrome number plate trim which weighed about 3.5 tons.... Then there were the spotlamps that weren't even wired up! I am going a little more 'Toury' than Todd. I will double up on the front brake and get a rev counter. I am gonna put footboards on just 'cos I want to try them for a giggle. I am trying to find one of the original Cali large dual seats, IIRC they were two-tone black and white and had a chrome grabrail around the back. Rack and Krauser hard panniers and I should be done.......for a while! Nige.

  14. Very similar...IIRC the lowers are identical, it is just that the Spada handlebar fairing is larger and has a small round headlamp as opposed to the LM2 naff rectangular unit. I converted the LM2 handlebar fairing to take the standard V11 headlamp. Yep..Legs are cosy & dry! Nige.

  21. Believe me, I am very sorry about that, but it is the way I see it. In the interests of safety, I would urge all other Scura owners to rectify before it becomes terminal. Mine had not reached the stage of making any untoward noises, but it was on the slippy slope to failure. Nige.
  22. Anything is possible with thought, determination, a dremel and maybe a bit of fibreglass and dural ;0) Seriously, I reckon it shouldn't be too major a job to get it to fit. A breeze compared to my last fairing project, I would think! Nige.
  23. I used a front mudguard brake pipe bracket from an 850-T3 Just hooked over the stud and put a bolt through into the ring gear. No drilling required.... I knew that rusty old piece of metal would come in handy one day! Nige.
  24. Right, just to conclude this excercise.... Having had a friend NDT penetrant test the alloy flywheel removed from my bike. As I mentioned earlier in the thread two of the mounting bolts were not as tight as I would have liked them. There was 6500 miles on the bike when I took it off. It had started to crack on one of the mounting holes already. Have to stress (sic ) Scuristi! This definitely seems a 'When' situation...rather than an 'If.' I am so relieved I went to the trouble of swapping the offending article for a sound V10 ten spring twin plater. I would urge others to take remedial action before they become another statistic! Don't hope it will go away....It won't unless you take action. Get Nige.
  25. Yes mostly. It depends on how you use it...Lots of short runs lead to more water / oil emulsion build up everywhere.....Not good! I always try to go on long runs and 'excercise' the motor when it is fully warmed up......I have never had emulsion problems on any bike since I got into this habit. The last bit is good news! Nige.
