  1. Not quite as simple as that, Pete. Unlike the Channel Islands, we have our own Government. Tynwald. The oldest continuously sitting Parliament in the world...about 970 AD or so. As you infer though it is a grey area. We are independent when it suits us ....Or at least we try to be that way. As near as I understand it. We are British, The 'English Queen' is the Lord of Mann, represented by the Westminster appointed Lt. Governor. It is purely a figurehead role. We are not part of the UK or Great Britain, but are part of the British Isles. But I could be wrong! Nige
  2. Oi! What about us! I mean orright, but we are in the British Isles too! Nige.
  3. As a related throwaway comment. It still seems to me that the modern extremely high level of adjustability is a bit of a cop out. I appreciate there are barrow loads of variables involved, but to have 997 different settings or whatever seems like the manufacturers saying: 'Well, we can't get it right...Maybe you can?' We were perfectly safe on our low tech non adjustable bikes, now they have given us lots more opportunity to cock it up! Nige.
  4. Sounds plausible, RH...... I don't know if the oil will agree with your theory though! Nige.
  5. Just following the initial Waterloo reference. A game should be treated as such. It is hardly a thing to be wept over. ( BTW It is not the UK team it is the English team ) On a side issue. Normally, unfortunately I think, the display of the English St.George flag is frowned upon and regarded as being provocative to the racial minorities. For a time it was regarded as quite alright, because some men were kicking a ball about, soon it will be frowned upon again. I think that is sad. I don't know of any other country where displaying the national flag is frowned upon. Nige.
  6. 'Darling, I simply can't be seen going into battle like this!' 'You should worry, dearie....I've just snagged a nail on this grenade pin!' Nige.
  7. Not the same breed that climbed out of the trenches and ran at a brace of machine guns waving a sword, shouting: 'Follow me, men...Last one in Berlin is a cissy!' Or words to that effect. ( No disrespect to truly brave men intended BTW ) Nige.
  8. If we are talking baffles, we would be looking at installing them vertically at ninety degrees to the crank. What I was referring to was a horizontal plate. On reflection perhaps we do need both? Nige.
  9. Now, that is an important result! Good work in diagnosing that. Well done Greg. I'm not sure baffles are going to make much difference, I think the windage plate is going to be most effective? Nige.
  10. Could I just add a large quadruped ruminant around a blind corner? Nige.
  11. ( Stage Whisper ). Quit while you're ahead, dude! Nige.
  12. HHmm that is interesting mdude. Do you have larger pics, please? Nige.
  13. Pleased you like it. Different, innit! Nige.
  14. A round of applause for Ratchet, please! A fine show....... C'mon folks! Give it up! Nige.
  15. I have always had excellent performance from Pirellis on the Guzzis I have owned. Never persuaded myself to desert them. Lets hear it for the Phantoms!!! ( Hmmm showing my age there! ) Nige.
  16. One facet of the equation, mentioned by Ratchet IIRC, but not expanded upon was the variable of load caused by the mass of the rider. There are boatloads of variables, all important in their own right, that all have differing levels of effects, but I feel that this is a significant one. On a few occasions in the past I have had handling problems with bikes that my bigger heavier friends have not had on similar bikes....and vice versa. All have been sorted with varying degrees of success by using a patient, analytical approach. Some have been sorted with steering dampers, others with dropping or raising front forks, changing spring rate, tyre changes etc., some even with riding posture. Most of these occurences were on bikes with suspension with very limited if any adjustments provided, other than preload on the rear. Yes, these technical articles are VERY useful and in some cases invaluable, but please, change ONE variable at once, then you can attribute the improvement or deterioration to that single change. Otherwise you will be prolonging the agony! Nige.
  17. Yes, I got that a couple of hundred miles before the angle drive exploded! Nige.
  18. Yes, I seem to remember Crossbow doing a very nice looking one for the earlier Le mans? Nige.
  19. I was going to post an ebay link to a twin headlamp aftermarket fairing, but it has already finished. I put an LM2 fairing on mine. There was also similar twin headlamp version by Sprint IIRC My LM2 Fairing Project. Nige.
  20. Thanks. I think it works quite well. The square headlamp HAD to go. There was a lot more work in it than it looks but i reckon it was worth it. I suppose it is a fusion of three decades. Nige.
  21. Nice. I have had a couple of variations on that. Had this throught he eighties and beyond: It started out like this ( not mine but very similar) : and morphed through various guises to this: Similar to what has happened to my V11 TBH: I quite like those graphics and colour scheme! Nige.
