  1. well you do with it what you like. I have seen a lot of guzzisti dropping off in Ledenon, all told "suddenly I was on the ground." Mostly track inexperienced ones.
  2. No it was something with the carter vent/oil return system went wrong. On a track the bike is reved much higher a long time, and then carter vent becomes critical. And with the sidestand, a bit drag no problem, but what if it drags and there a a bump in the road, that might lift the rearwheel a moment, and there your first highsider is born. Same with a silencer with to little clearance. On most trackdays there is not much technical check, the idea is, you and only you, are responsible for your bike, if they check it, and it ends wrong, the tech check guy might be part responsible.
  3. if it's your first ever trackday, see if you can get some guided rounds, that helps:-) And take it slow! Lots of inexperienced trackday drivers fail because they think they know how it goes. So they have the wrong/cold tyres, or have their sidestand still on, and when they hit the ground don't have the best reaction on that. In Ledenon a guy with a tonti failed becuase his bike leaked oil, he even looked behind and must have seen the smoke and didn't stop. Then he went down on his own oil, the oil got fire(and so a part of the bike) and he broke some bones. and so your bike ends:
  4. well that part is nr 04082800
  5. Well I'm lazy, so I left if hanging there, no need to unplug wires. And there is place enough to remove the engine like that. Well I only removed the alternator because I got a new engine from factory, the part on the crank was left on the engine. If you removed front wheel, you have plenty of space. We got an engine of a sport 1100i , out and back in, in less than 4 hours from start to end.
  6. Well, why remove phase sensor, it does have a connector in it's wire. for the front, do whats most easy, There are only alternator wires that have a connector in them somewhere. If you keep the front frame with the engine, you can leave the oil lines/cooler on, so you don't need to take the oil out. Or disconnect the olilines at the radiator, not much oil will go then. the engine goes out, without with bike on it's wheels. When you split it from the gearbox first. Then move the engine 8 cm up front, with something under it to keep it at the same height. Then the engine can be taken sideways, I have a thing with wheels on it so I can move it easy. See some pictures here: http://www.fastguzzi.nl/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=101 As I see in my pictures, I took the alternator of the engine, so all wires stay in place. It's pretty simple, not much work. The gearbox can stay in there, no need to take it out.
  7. that matra was an early mpv. But they were build so bad, and rust so fast. The matra factory doesn't exist anymore, their last project were the renault avantime, a very nice looking car, but also not without ( electrical) problems. Only 10.000 were made.
  8. The bike has the 5 speed gearbox. It could be a factory tryout from the first v11 sport. There is a picture from a green one with 5 speed box and monotail. But in my opinion it has no extra value for that, with the old gearbox, it's less fun. The wheels a certain not from factory, but came with the fiddeling and polishing. It doesn't look to drive much, shame.
  9. well you could, but when you are done, not much tonti is left.
  10. wel, sometimes I do:-) Just sold one.
  11. with such a picture I can't resist to put a rc with my carbon tail, compare the light.
  12. If c has the hole to fit on x, then the rod with 3 eyes should go between a and b?
  13. well you are long enough around to know that richmaund does the master seats here: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10430 and rossopuro, well on the entarance page you can see an english flag.. http://rmcube.abd.it/RMcube/servlet/contro...codelanguage=EN
  14. well he is wrong. what is the problem, picture?
  15. we had this already here some time ago
  16. well, this was the NOwords topic:-) coppa le mans: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5904
  17. The lambda only works at a constant rpm. I know from someone who went to the german yearly check, there it needs to have less than 1% co at 3000 if I remember correct. That was 4% , because when you do it by hand its not constant enough. Then measured at idle, it took quite a while before the co went down. In the end it was low enough. So it looks like the lambda doesn't do anything during normal rides. Only there for legal reasons. Its not so hard to weld a m18x1.5 nut on the crossover.
  18. well these are the first penta in magnesium, I would't trust them on a road bike. They are the lightest tou can get, but nu cush drive. These are the wheels: http://www.guzzisti.it/page_builder.php?fi...n/hypertwin.htm
  19. yes it looks sometimes all american man still want to be a cowboy, with gun and horse. Funny thing is that slow food is also about to eat food as it was long ago, not made in factorys. http://www.slowfoodusa.org/
  20. well Jaap, that was a smart move :-) When I was you I would very carefully test and consider the ergonomics, to see if you can drive long distances with it. I did like the griso testdrive I did a year ago.
  21. alex did a geat job, but as mentioned, no go in a spine framed guzzi. Get a griso 850 and send it to him to do the job. There should be room enough there.
  22. nothing technical in the text, just talking about slow food. You know slow food in the USA?
  23. Since torqin with a torq wrench broke one m6 bolt, I never do m6 with it, just by hand. Inside the engine I use the torq wrench, all other things on feel.
  24. Alex, I've never seen an ABS kit. It will need a computer, electric valves and a sensor to know exactly what speed the weel turns. And since this is highly a safety device, no shop would want ensurance claims when things go wrong.
  25. It seems my post is not read well, or being misintrepeted. I make no comparisson between an paper or K&N filter on the same airbox. What I was saying, is the in my believe, and I've seen some dyno results, a k&n pod directly on the injection body, is worse than an ( guzzi v11) airbox with some filter on it. That you open up the airbox outside the filter a bit, makes it more easy to get the needed air. Have any of you once made the calculation, how much air a guzzi needs per second @ 6000 rpm? Imagine that amount of air going through a pod filter. So much surface area on the filter material isn't available.
