  1. Theat was clear. But here the only way to get anything done is, let the dealer contact guzzi.
  2. so you have a dealer where you go for maintenance and maybe bought the bike? What do they say?
  3. this isn't the worst one, if you go right, its a nice corner. Look at thsi one, if you come there with more than 10 km/h you have to stop almost to get arround the corner. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=nl&...&iwloc=addr
  4. once someone told that not all scuras should be affected. And that guzzi knew which productionrun it was. Guzzi have had some engines and gearboxes replaced under warranty, that were distroyed from the exploding clutch, so nothing happend can't be true. I got an new engine & gearbox as a result of the failure. Any dealer can lookup that vin, and see what happend I suppose. The least thing Guzzi could have done, was to supply a new 2 plate clutch to any scura owner that whats it.
  5. most of the v11 metalic consist of metalic grey, painted over with a colored clear coat. That makes the metalic a bit dim.
  6. there are eccentric steeringhead bearings, they do one degree. From Ghezzi&brian. I got my steeringhead welded on at an even steeper angle. That is the real thing. I let dynotec do it.
  7. I suppose that's the one they sold on events too, I bought that years ago. The man looks like a genius in the film. We will never know what the next steps in development would have been, we will never know. And now the remainder of the bikes is in musea or collectors hands. There is one in the netherlands too.
  8. so the question is, why wait for guzzi, all parts used are available. Just start grinding the v11 frame today. I didn't wait for a sports bike from guzzi either.
  9. he jim that numbers in the filename got me thinking, so try this file, it shows al lot moving:-)
  10. well if you can, visit this one: http://www.motobel.fr by train: Gare Clichy-Levallois by Métro Anatole France But here is your walking map, 4km: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=nl&...052099&om=1
  11. heating the alu case with a torch is the way to get things out that are tight. I did ask the importer of the big bearing here in the netherlands, but they said they could't deliver, because it was only for the oem.
  12. well we had a topic with pics on this before: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2391 Or isn't this what you are talking about?
  13. Nige, not all of us live on the isle of man, and since this is the first usa failure there is an opportunity.
  14. what can help is to file a complaint at the nhtsa http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ and let guzzi know you did. Important is to make clear that in the case of a failure the rearwheel can be blocked, so a dangerous situation is there.
  15. So here the thing that only non usa v11 scruras have it, is broken. Time to report it to the safety board, the ones responsible for recalls? To force Guzzi to do something to the scura owners?
  16. well the 10 spings are there to cope with the torque/power the 2001 stone has 8 springs according to the shop manual. http://www.moto-guzzi.us/archiviomoto/Cali...2001%20mgit.pdf
  17. the one I had, was even earlier. But richard, until now all rosso mandello clutches didn't have the problem.
  18. Well thats no fun, but don't tell me you didn't know what could happen. If you take the starter engine off, you can look at the clutch. But it looks if you are "lucky" , could have been worde.
  19. looks like fun there.
  20. well partslist is here: http://www.moto-guzzi.us/archiviomoto/V100...vert%20mgit.pdf
  21. Amsterdam is just nice to walk trough, and look at people. Motortoer is worth a visit, when he asks the owner, Ted about his racebikes, he builds supermono bikes from ground up. Including a special made 6 valve head.
  22. Harold send me this update: "Hi folks, here is an update. This is the actual status: I am still collecting quantities for the project. Thanks to the great Guzzi-community, I have reservations from United States, Australia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, UK, France, Switzerland, and more. So far I got around 140 pieces, which is not enough to reach the target price. And, these 140 pieces include 20 pieces I will buy myself, although I neither have a profit from this project nor I have a 4 valve Guzzi. I am only sure, that sooner or later some people will ask for it, so I can supply some covers for a while. The problem is, that most of the Guzzisti only buy for the lowest price. For a higher price – even 20 Euros more – the order number shrinks rapidly. So, it has to be 200 pieces at least, otherwise the project will not happen at all. After I reach this target number (God knows when this will be), I will place the order to the Taiwanese manufacturer and pay the tooling fee in advance. Then they will make the tooling and after that a prototype, which I will have to approve. All this will take around 6 weeks. Hopefully in the first run it will be okay, otherwise improvements will have to be made. But I am confident they will do a good job. Have a look at the attached pictures, which show a cover for a new Guzzi starter motor (this is another project from me, very soon to be released.) After my final approval, the Taiwanese will produce the 200 covers, which will take only a few days. Then the shipment by sea - around 30 to 40 days. Then I will send from Germany to the rest of the Guzzi-world. The exact delivery costs will be named then to you. Maybe you can arrange only one shipment for me to France, then you distribute the covers internally. So, the time schedule depends on when I will have the 200 cover orders. Probably the goods are here in April or May next year, who knows? Besides: meanwhile I am trying to get a permission from the German importer of Moto Guzzi to use the original design for the covers with the Guzzi-logo - this is really tricky!!!! Hopefully this information will help you along. Merry X-Mas everybody! Harold

  24. well best? the one that is the most certain is the two plate one mounted in the later v11. The one from scolaracing, http://www.scolaracing.com is a lightend twoplate clutch. But the ram is the cheapest.
  25. don't start the engine anymore until you know whats wrong. If you dismount the starter engine, you can see a bit, but depending on your techhnical knowledge, go to the dealer.
