I think there must be 4V guzzi owners here, for who this is interesting. Harold from Germany, will get a new series produced, if there are enough people interested. So anyone who wants a few, send him an email, at the address at the bottom of this post. Hello everybody, this is Harold from good old Germany speaking! Okay, this is the story: I am planning to release a new starter motor for all Guzzi V 2-engines. You will know about the pros and cons of BOSCH and Valeo, and I will have a starter with hopefully only pros. For this project (soon it will be released) I have produced a new starter drive cover in order to adopt the Mitsubishi starter to the Guzzi block. This part is made from aluminium die cast, and I have let it made in Taiwan. Those people made a nice job: Very good quality of the die cast, all threading, milling and grinding jobs perfect. Tolerances great. So, when I saw this die cast thing, I thought of all the poor 4-valves drivers. The covers are not available anymore, and second hand ones are rare to find and expensive. So why not producing new ones for a low price? I took a sample of the covers to Taiwan last week, and this is the result: Tooling fee for the die cast mould around 7800 US $. Price per piece 3,50 US $ (TRUE!!!!). So, the price for one valve cover is around 80 $ when we let produce 100 pieces. Expensive, I think. With 200 covers, you can calculate that, the price will be only around 40 something $. So the challenge is to get confirmed orders for new valve covers. The more we have, the lower the price. So far in Germany I could collect some 80 covers. So, anyone interested? Here are some more important remarks: The project will only get startet if we can reach some 200 covers, otherwise the price is too high for most of the bikers. This project will happen once, not a steady job. I would organize import with paying the manufacturer, shippings, customs etc. About your payment details we can talk when we know this all will happen. I have to say that I do this NOT FOR PROFIT! No business for me, I just like the projects and considers it as sports. I run my own business in Germany with some 50 people, completely different branch, so I am not interested and do not have the need for some extra money. Regarding the quality: The covers will not be painted. Raw material, but with a nice smooth surface. I am not sure yet about the "GUZZI"-Logo - I have to get a permission from Piaggio, I guess. Otherwise it will be blank or so. Okay, that´s it. So, if anyone shows interest in getting a pair or more, please send an email to me. Again, I just need to figure out about the total demand. It is not an offer that is 100 % for sure. Only if we will get the 200 pieces! Thanks for reading. Harold email: harold.quirl at t-online.de

well it's not my photo, I think Jaap hasn't a problem with it. Longer searching will give a better picture. like this: http://www.v11sport.de/images/umbauten/coppamans_1.jpg http://www.v11sport.de/images/coppa_4.jpg http://www.v11sport.de/images/coppa_7.jpg but here I found one I made myself, see attached picture

here you can see them mounted: http://www.v11lemans.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=454 so the front bolthole is screwed on direct, the back one is lower and the space is filled with a triangle plate.
-
i did collect some, and put them here: dameijer database
-
the kit is with guzzi titanium silencers, and expensive. it's pretty high mounted
-
when delivered with the kit, it comes with a small metal plate that covers the distance in the mounting holes.
-
while you have the box in pieces, replace the shifer sping, with arm.
-
I think they might make the 4v griso 3k more expensive, then there is market for the 2v, as there is for the 850.
-
well, it will fit against the engine. I don't doubt that. You need a swingarm too, and mount it. I've been looking for one too, but couldn't find one. So I got a v11 one for the daytona rs.
-
well, the new engine looks good on paper. But first we need one on the road. Max power @ 9500 rpm suggests that the flow is very good in the heads. My 4v has peak power @ 8000. But first it should run. Not the wooden engine from now. If they have made it well, and not to expensive to build, the engine can go in all bikes, like bmw did. But if thy ask a premium price, it won't sell much. The 940 is received good on the wildguzzi forum. The americans do hava a different taste. I had ecspected a cali folow up. A full cruiser. Why not 1100 at least, doesn't make production more expensive, and is better marketingwise. The americans need big displacement engines.

well the mounting point at the back is wide and different placed, maybe so high the it interfears with the spine. look at a box here at the bottom of the picture.
-
that is what the first question was about. But ship me a set, and I show how to do it.

well, it would only work with the monoarm-reardrive, no they won't slip in. Nothing imposible, but wil require some flexing and welding.
-
well ben, it is the new custom, with breva 1100 engine and gearbox, only 940 cc. ok here some eicma pictures, the ladies: http://www.motorfreaks.nl/index.php/report/4064 and more bikes: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/55447...KLDmpx?start=28 look for a new griso terminioni exhaust

if it does 110 hp. with euro 3, some more is there to get with some fideling. From what I read, it has overhead cams, and a chain driving it. And the chain is running at the back.
-
The one at gmg was interesting to see, but missed at least one point, the valves weren't adjustable each. That worked like the lario I think.
-
so one night before we know?
-
maybe the guy is a terrible driver, and then it wouldn't take long to get an accident
-
The thingie where you put your key in, has no other job than sliding the inner cable outside the outer cable. So look where the cable comes out of it, is it loose. If it is maybe something is wrong on the other side under the seat. but else try to but something in between, so you get tension on the key when operated. If operrated, giving a hard bump with your hand on the back of the seat can help. It does on japs scura.
-
So what would you buy, it looks like you realy want one, not even knowing the price now?
-
well, is the griso 4v is a nice bike, I can understand that they came with the 1200sport before eicma, to get attention for that too. Otherwise the 4v griso would have gotten all the attention.
