  1. This sort of bikes is build a lot in germany. The guy that build this one buys accident and other guzzi's and sells them in parts, and builds bikes from the parts.
  2. You can measure resistance on the green wire before changing. If you unplug the ecu, there should be no resistance on the wire( between the wire and the ground), and for all checks, you can compare right and left measurments. If the wire is shorted you can measure it. Taking the connector out can be done, but if you are not very shure that's it, don't. Parts from this connector are hard to get, and the connector on the other side of the wire, the ecu one isn't available at all. You can not easy put a new wire in. Worst case you need a new wire loop.
  3. I suspect the ecu, No one in your surrounding that has one you can try? You have a v11 with or without lambda/kat? I do have an ecu I will sell. If you disconnect the right coil, does the bike start on one cilinder?
  4. with 2valves there will no 122 hp out of guzzi heads, with euro 3. The bmw is at the limit they can do with that engine.
  5. check oil levels when your are there, some members of the dutch club that went to new zealand, arrived without oil! pretty painfull, if you drive that way.
  6. no the first daytona has a self retracting stand, and is mounted more to the front. I had it for 9 years and the bike never went down. It's just what you are used to. Only if some stranger picks up the bike it might go wrong, but noone touched my bike:-)
  7. you see: sex sells, everything, even cook shows.
  8. I just got mysetf a pair Daytona nonstop boots, with goretex, so water doesn't get in. For dry weather I have Sidi Vertebra. Daytona is German handmade. http://www.daytona.de/english/boots_e/gore...nonstopgtx.html
  9. Dynotec sells almost the same set I think.
  10. Well there should be a gasket, but it might be hard to see. When you had the things apart, its a good idea to put fresh gaskets in, they are cheap. If the engine is cold, feel with your hand if it is leaking there. A bit black isn't bad, as long as its no coal. You need to drive faster to get rid of that.
  11. Tonight I was going to grease my joints. I took the swingarm out, when you take the rearwheel out there is not much to do to get it out. Even silencers can stay where they are. Because my swingarm is a bit modded at the front, there is no other way to reach the front joint, well if guzzi had mounted the front nipple on the other side of the crss it would have been easy for me.
  12. well alex, it doesn't fit because the swingarm has a lower pivot. Springs from any shop that sells aftermarket exhausts. make isn't importat, lenght is, but may vary a bit.
  13. Alex, I think your system was mounted tight, the terminioni sytem from the picture and the one from deas have springs, so there is no tension in the system. Funny that you have this termi picture, exactly this set is mine. I bought that, but don't know if I ever am going to mount it. It doesn't clear my swingarm, that is different than stock.
  14. I don't think the big helmet companies make diffent helmets for different markets, yes other test labels in them, but the helmet itself won't vary. Companies who have trouble getting close to the norm might do that, but I value my head enough to spend some more money on my helmet. So I have an Arai Quantum.
  15. no on track days I have the shopstand, and I can put it under the bike without help. Or just let the sidestand behind in the parking, when you return, just screw it in with the one big bolt. Done that too.
  16. The first daytona sidestand is mounted more on the front, and smaller. Doesn't have a switch. But for track days: allways remove sidestands.
  17. try http://www.hmb-guzzi.de/ and let it "nitride" harden before mounting. they have lots of v11 stock.
  18. ride it, or help the odo a bit.
  19. When one is looking for pure rational arguments for buying an mgs01, take some time:-) Since most critical parts are from other bikes, being left without a running bike is not what would happen. Maybe if you insist on original parts, you might have a problem some time. The belt isn't a problem, the bikes I know where it failed had old belts. When changed at a normal scheme, there is no problem at all. I have a 3d scan from a head so one day I'm able to make my own. I've seen a few times a mgs, and I think it's great value for money. Why? There are so much parts specialy made for it, in ways that are only cost effective if you make some numbers. The swingarm with molded parts, the gearbox rear, the gastank, and I can go on. Compare the price to a Guzzila and it's cheap. A daytona racing for that money is stupid. If you go racing, things can happen, but what would life be without risks? see more? http://www.millepercentoclub.com/FOTO/11.htm
  20. The headlight/fairing combo looks great. You have 3x v11??
  21. this picture was on the swiss guzziworld forum:
  22. with gold digger I mean the 30.000 asking for the ebay one.
  23. in germany there is one new in stock in a shop at 23750. There are always golddiggers that think they make money on such bikes. the bike
  24. it can be the gasket between exhaust and the head. Not a bad idea to put a new in from time to time.
  25. leon, the wheels aren't 100% the same, not so secure machining. So let the one that machines the thing measure the wheel. just the right lenght.
