  1. Bigger bikeshops here often have the tooling to make you one, as Jason says, it's so simple. Only the right lenght counts. Buying a new one from guzzi is no solution. Because the chance they fit is small. Just measure your wheel to get the right lenght.
  2. well if you look here: http://www.mgcn.nl/dameijer/index.php?set_...=view_album.php then you find a lot of mgs01 picures that I put there. First proto picture. Look: PVM wheels, centauro engine parts
  3. I hope soldering the two transisistors? on the right didn't kill them.
  4. maximum bid was 13000, and that wasn't enough for the reserv.
  5. that means a 10nm spring if I'm correct.
  6. spring rates are not related to shock or fork make. As long as they are linear. A 7.5 sping rear from WP or ohlins gives the same sag. What might be a problem is that guzzi adjusts their suspension to a weight of an average italian. I don't know how much the average weight of an american citizen is above that but I suspect quite a lot.
  7. well in logical surroundings you might think that 079 would give badge 079, but this is italy. I suppose they made 100 badges put them in a basket, and started glueing them on the bikes.
  8. So we are talking 9 pages, and still noone has made a drawing? Come on guys, get to work.
  9. It seems to be in italy, but no info is given on ebay, so anyone interested, first check with the owner what the story is. http://cgi.ebay.it/Moto-Guzzi-MGS-01-CORSA...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. Guzzi also experimented with a V4 ... well they made a v4, to be seen in the museum, but not this, this is the va10, a project never finished. and a 3
  11. I think the most engines are at least a 25 years newer design, and I know that the triumph( 595?) and bmw oilhead had some problems when used in club races. Can you name a new bike with a large sump like the guzzi?
  12. thats for a new one, and thats what it costs here.
  13. Street legal wil depend on the country you are in. What can be done in one country won't go in another. The news on the deas website is outdated, and I think the guy(Roland) only speaks german. The austria story is quite different, that was an centauro, rebuild to get the mgs01 looks, the made their own fiberglass for it, sculped from only pictures. If you want streeet legal, orient in your own country. There is one in california that has a plate too. Don't ask me how.
  14. Well hard to tell. But my understanding is that it has the can in it's old place, no cam in the head. I can't tell if that's good or not. I know what I heave. That's 115 hp at the rear wheel, translates to more at the cranck:-). Do you need that to have fun, no. On the track I use that power, on normal road hardly. It's to fast fo anything legal. But the new head will never have that amount of power, the emission makes things harder for big 2 cil aircooled twins. BMW has admitted that the power they have in the r1200s is the max that engine can do, Legal:-) And that engine is more like a daytona engine.
  15. I found a movie you might like http://www.dutchcontent.com/forum/mpeg/fun/hot.wmv
  16. I just looked at all attachments that are there at the moment: there are 6000. From that 6000 are 17 that are bigger than 200kb. You are correct about the 20mb max on your account, but there is a max of 200kb per post. That has been larger, then from time to time Jaap or me had to download all big pictures, resize them and upload again. Otherwise available webspace would have ended a long time ago. I sugest you resize the pictres to 1024x768max size before uploading. You don't have to buy anything for that, if you have XP, you can download a image resizer tool from the Microsoft site. Other tools like infranview can do that too, that's freeware. To try I let xp resize your biggest picture, that was 900 kb, now 166kb
  17. maybe you have a to big picture or all your attachment space is used. You can check this at "my controls" on to of the page. I just looked, you have uploaded a bunch 900kb pictures, in two threads. Normaly pictures should not be bigger than 100kb, and can be big enough to view. Resize the pictures first before uploading.
  18. from what I read, the 1200 sportbike will be like a griso with different clothes. And the 4v doesn't come from the daytona engine, but a new head on the 2v engine. From what I understand, there are some unsold mgs01 in english and italian shops. And it seems that they can be orderd new too.
  19. Ohlins forks have loose seals, so it can react very sensible. So is also it very sensible to dirt. The front mudgard doesn't help here. The ones from the RSV protect better. But the same problem do owners of ducs and aprilias with Ohlins forks have. Best place to replace is a suspension specialist.
  20. I was at this raceday in Germany. A lot of older Guzzi's racing there, 13 in one race. It is organised by http://www.artmotor.de/ . I made some pictures: http://www.fastguzzi.nl/gallery/v/Oschersleben06 I think I might race there one of the next times.
  21. what I see in the workshop manual for the 1999/2000 biles is that the forks are flush mounted with top of the triple clamps. And the cap comes just above it.
  22. the racing is a bit of both, but mostly a first series daytona. It has the p7 computer with 2 pickups.
  23. Well I always want to know what options there are, and time has proven that I sometimes take other roads.
  24. No you are not mistaken, this is the inside of my V sump. So what would be needed to make a dry sump?
  25. it can be that there is no metal badge, I think mine had only some paper adhesive, that was gone when I repainted the frame. The stamped in on the right is the most important. The daytona RS has a metal badge.
