  1. What I don't get, California is the state with most stringent rules to get a plate? How did you manage that?
  2. I did take a look at the wiring diagram of the breva 1100. The ecu and dash are connected by a CAN bus, that is a digital signal line. The revs and speed are transmitted over the CAN bus to the dash. So only the lights might work. If you want a digital dash, there are aftermarket suppliers that make it easier. like this or lots of others: http://www.aimsports.com/products/m3-gold-auto/index.html
  3. the factory normaly should keep enough spares for 10 years, legaly, I suppose they have that in stock. What they did sell was all overstock or parts to build more new bikes. And as far as I know only to hmb. Maybe someone else got something but keeps it very quiet:-)
  4. This silly man has to draw up a contract to get his wife to do the things he wants. If his wife made a contract for him, what would be in it?
  5. this guy is selling new factory stock, he bought all v11 remainders. http://cgi.ebay.nl/Lichtmaschine-Moto-Guzz...1QQcmdZViewItem the website: http://www.hmb-guzzi.de

The usa allways talk about how great it is the to have democatics working in a country, see what the majority have choosen, out of so many milions of people.... But here it's the same, our prime minister isn't better, everyone gets what he deserves?
  7. I think taking the tank off, and put back together the connectors going to the front. They tend to come loose sometimes.
  8. heating the aluminium will let it expand so the bearings come out more easy. For some bearings a special tools exist. Look in the parts list to get the idea. The plastics should normaly come out just with a screwdriver.
  9. So now we want to know which bearing it was, picture? the balls we out?
  10. well he is right that there is a difference between the two bikes. But the rest doesn't seem to the point. Geometry wise there are only two types v11. The first are the red framed ones and rosso mandello, the second is all what has come behind that.
  11. they are a different make. Also the speedo has a different gear ratio. So unless you change all speedo related things, including gearbox parts, you won't be happy.
  12. yes rosso mandello and tenni have same clutch, but as in the starting from this topic, not all scuras are asffected. And no problems are known with the rosso and tenni flywheel. So it seems there is a batch made with wrong specs/manufacturing faults.
  13. I'm not familiar with american truck clutches, but the single plate is the type common used in cars. And things don't go wrong with the clutch part but the flywheel from aluminium. There has been a series of calis with a(different) single plate clutch. They have the problem that the plates wear out to fast. At 15000km they are gone. A part was replaced under warrenty.
  14. macguzzi, tou are right about the flywheel, but because its mounted as a single unit , people talk about the clutch. And with the 2 plate clutch the flywheel is part of the clutch, with the single plate it isn't.
  15. or move the oil cooler, and mount the aprilia leonarda 500 headlight, as used in the proto picture. The guy that made the replica mgs01 fairing used that too.
  16. Hi that one is so that the nut doesn't come off when you drive. normaly with some gentle force, hammer the part that is locking the nut back so the nut comes free to move.
  17. I don't see a problem, easy is to take it complete, forks, wheel, brakes, mudgard. Then the lenght is something to look at, and the triples. If you have to make one, and can't do it yourself, it's expensive then. Also look that the stem forks distance is not very short, might change the way it steers to the worse. Not less than 30mm I suggest.
  18. To correct things before stories get arround. Charles rice had nothing to do with the chain drive from the Swallower. There was a time when he was working in the netherlands 94/95? But he did only engine things. Also from the swallower bike. But never mention his name when Eric is arround, he hasn't to good memories on that time.
  19. well as buell with the xxbr ? did, tell them that it's based on the daytona rs.
  20. this is one, here is what happens.
  21. I love the look of this bike very much, the italians made such an elegant small bike. And your restoring skills are
  22. A german scura owner didn't trust his clutch any longer after 20.000km. He decided to let the dealer mount a new 2 plate clutch. The dealer send the alu flywheel to mandello factory to have it checked. And guess what? It had small fractures already. So was a matter of time before it would die the bike( and more?). It seems that they are thinking about recalling a series of singleplate clutches, not all, because not all should be affected. Maybe that's why the problem isnt in the USA, they got another series?
  23. I read in the anima guzzista forum that Gianfranco Guareschi is coming to Daytona, with the 4v mgs01 sponsored by piaggio usa and moto guzzi italia. Ciao
  24. Well, I'm curious if none of the usual sideeffects happen, such as hair cracks in the front engine cover.
  25. Well on the outside of the final drive box is one , but that one is more to keep the bearing in/clean. No thin one between rearwheel and final drive. There is a spacer on that place.
