  1. Ryan, I realy like the looks of that duc. I'm not shure about the looks of the english bikes. Getting to close to copying the old looks is cheap.
  2. http://www.eicma.it/ 15-20 november The other requests make shure you don't buy one:-) You think you can phone the english guy and tell him: yes I want your bike but first you have to get it road registred? Just make lighting and other things, after that I pick it up. And then what does you insurance company tell you when you want to use an english license for your bike to get home?
  3. Well making it legal, in greece is something you should know better than us. Adding some lights isn't a big problem. Stil a big price for a bike with 700 miles on circuits. 2000 euro below new isn't a reason to buy a used one.
  4. The german magazine Motorrad has ridden a griso and raves about it. What they normaly don't do with guzzi's, they prefer BMW:-( Also in the guzzisti forum you can read several stories of guys having ridden it at the GMG. babelfish translates the whole thing to strange english. http://world.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl...php%3Ft%3D10082
  5. As jean marc pointed out I did this. If it's worth it, that's a difficult discussion. But that is the same for any upgrade on a bike. Find a crashed v11, take what you need, sell the rest in parts, and if you didn't pay to much for the crashed bike, the gearbox comes cheap:-) Shifting on a v11 box is much smoother, it did take me a while to get used to the ratios, the old ones were "programmed"in my head. I mean shifting down at a corner, I did that blind, now I had to think "back 1 or 2 gears?"
  6. Well, since phpbb has(had) some security issues, one has to update the board to be safe, I don't know if Luap keeps up with that. Also another board that's hacked on the same shared server can bring the others down.
  7. a bit cheaper, yes 1000 of, but that's good, starting at 10000 would make me nervous:-)
  8. I meant Biaggi
  9. Loris capirossi started from pole, did a lot of laps behind rossi, took over and won! Rossi was out because the drove against melandri in a corner:-), but more than a 4th place he didn't have up to that time.
  10. Pete, your priomised driving it.
  11. gas is 1.59 euro /litre here, highest in europe. Maybe even worldwide. And then I see the americans complain:-) look here for other countrys: http://www.touring.be/nl/voertuigen-verkee...ijzen/index.asp
  12. 10 years ago I paid half of that, new from the dealer. But in 10 years the price at Guzzi doubled. I see TLM has it in stock at a sale price: http://www.tlm.nl/magazijn/webshop/detail.html?aid=11997
  13. The sold cd's are copy's. So then if you don't want to buy the original book, you can download the contents for free. If you look at the links section, the manual section there, the first one holds a scaned manual. It's only in german. But the numbers and pcitures do the rest. If you realy love your bike you order the official workshop manual at your dealer. I did, and still look in it.
  14. Well they are 4V engines, very much the same layout as the guzzi 4V engine. But the new 1200 has same valve sizes as a mgs01. They can do the emisions and sound thing with it.
  15. =Gelände Sport bmw R 1150 GS type
  16. CAn't it be that the confusion is from a press release from moto guzzi, that might state that they will display a mgs01 on the show, what is read by someone that that is a street bike, which it isn't. That they only intend to put the mgs01 corsa on the stand. The thing Ghezzi told me a few month ago that the first thing new, will be a GS version of the breva 1100.
  17. yes to me it was a surprise, because this is with the marelli ecu, with a chip that wasn't made for the cams and exhaust. I did turn the tps to make shure not driving to lean, what might damage things. But just to see how it works, I wired it up. Also to have a reference when switching to the Moto Spezial unit.
  18. Well, an old topic came up:-) The thing with the carbon tails is that I don't offer them anymore, only on request. Why? The ones made weren't up to the expectations from the buyers. The carbon finish wasn't smooth enough. I do this because I hope people are happy with it, else it doesn't make sense. I don't get rich from them, the money goes in other peoples pockets. The glassfiber version stays in production, it's in stock at TLM.
  19. Since I have a new injection computer, where I can adjust all parameters, I needed something to know what is happening. I got myself a wideband lambda device, Innovate Motorsports LM1, http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products.php Now I can datalog lambda, with rpm, tps and 3 other chanels, all during normal road driveing. At home behind the PC, I can evaluate what has happend during the ride. The software allows average charts, 3d graphs and more. I hope that after some learning I'm able to optimize the program in the injection computer.
  20. No carl boring the 4v to 100mm doesn't give sealing problems, bad production does. So the 4v doesn't need the studs more apart. With some more stroke even 1400cc is possible. Cooling the thing becomes more a problem at that time.
  21. I found two pictures of glen:
  22. congrats with the bike, how do you manage to bid only one second before the end?
  23. Ok for the wheelieking we have something else: the reardrive from the convert: Final 9/34 = 3,7778 now you need 8500 rpm for 113mph in 6. The splines from the convert reardrive are small, maybe Pete can try once if it realy fits, the number of splines is the same. then to fit the convert reardrive, a spacer from 20mm on the right is needed. And a construction to hold the reaction rod. The housing from daytona rs/centauro is the easy way.
  24. If you really, really want it, you can exchange the primary ratio in the gearbox for the one from the mgs01, that's taller. 20-31 for the mgs01, 19-32 for the v11, so in numbers now you have 113 mph at 6500 then you have that at 6000.
I heard the mgs in Assen, I found it quiet running mechanicaly. They put a chain in for distribution, thats more quiet.
