well Jim, just do it, it's fun on the track, who cares if your not first?

Hi, Since these are dry clutches, it's normal to hear something. Ever heard a ducati clutch? It's hard to know if what you hear is normal, if you don't trust it, ask your dealer.

this bike is 2500 euro worth. maybe 3000. but indeed the forks are bent more than the salvage bike I had, and that one had a bent frame, and broken front engine mounts. expect the tailframe a bit bent too.

the inner ring on my photo is max inside, as you mount the drive, the tigtning of the axcle sure makes it pushed inside. ON your picture, it's going to much inside. When mounted, the following is tight, from left: the big ball bearing inner ring, a long spacer inside gearbox, washer inside gearbox, inner ring from roller bearing, swingarm. In the service manual parts list nr: 36, 5,32,31 With your setup, it looks like the inner ring isn't sitting against the swingarm. Your inner ring is 18mm? In your picture, the outside from the reardrive will be pushed against the swingarm. If you mount everything, wheel thight, disconnect the reardrive reaction rod. see if you can turn the reardrive nice arround the axle.
-
Keep in mind that the movement of the reardrive arround the axcle isnt that much, and never gets speed where anything is welded. I made a picture of how it is supposed to look. The inside bearing ring sticks 2mm out the outer bearing.

in The Guzzi technical notes read this: Subject: new battery Model: V11 Problem: short life-span of the presently fitted ESA SPARK 500E battery. Solution in production: the YUASA YTZ12S battery will be fitted (comes from Yuasa already filled with fluid). In production is fitted a new wiring while on bikes with present wiring it is possible to fit the battery and reroute the cables. My last yuasa was alive for 9 years! And it was even a smaller version, ytx9-bs the YTZ12S is used in: CBR1100xx blackbird VTR 1000F VFR800Fi honda silverwing scooter '02 honda NSS250 Reflex '01-'02 So the dealers of these bikes might have them, yuasa is very good.

Carl, maybe this will do it? http://xinehq.de/ -
Hi Wart, welcome here. Regarding the bikes, they are almost the same, only fearing aand color differ. And I think the corsa nero doesn't have an Ohlins steering damper. Because the one from the Naked doesn't fit there. Which one fit's you best depends also on how tall you are. I'm 1.90meter, and are comfortable on the le mans position. Best thing is to drive on both setups. Regarding the P-car: the setup isn't for shopping, do you drive it on the track?

Alex, that is a black(nero) le mans, since it has marzochi forks.

To check, I downloaded cd2, got it with 480kb/sec and within 20 minutes. And it unziped fine. Found only that I've been messing arround with cd1 and cd2, but if you have both, you have it all. Watch out if your c: disk is almost out of space, it won't donload correct, altough windows doesn't complain. You need double the space free from what you download, windows does put it in a cach e first, and when download complete, writes to the destination file. CD1.zip should be 564.477.768 Kb CD2.zip should be 621.058.565 kb What might be confusing, is that inside cd1.zip is a directory cd2, and vise versa, because I first changed the 1 and 2 , after that I corrected the zip name, but the directory ame inside wasn't changed. -
I also had the right swingarm side flexing out, hitting the swingarm while it was sticking out made it come back and loosen the axcle from the swingarm. But I suppose your problem is different. maybe a torch wicth some heat wil do wonders.

I got a pair cd's with guzzi technical instructions. cd1 is the engine, cd2 has fuel, gearbox, reardrive. All from the breva 750, calli EV, V11. Technical level is not so high, so most people here should be able to follow. To be clear, here is shown how to take things appart, and get it toghether, and what to check. both arround 600 mb, For now windows users, there might be a way to use it if you have quicktime(pro), where you can select languages, since the video's are multiple languages at the same time. The rest are pdf's The cd's will be available for a limited time.

Pirelli Diablo to Corsa Comparison
Paul Minnaert replied to Mike Stewart's topic in Technical Topics
I know some people who did it with simple tools, takes some time. But the weight saving is marginal, it looks half the weight, but isn't. First see how the suspension sag is. Look at the ohlins setup guide, also here in the forum : http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1427 I've also had a scura for a short time, front is soft and rear to hard, was my feeling too. Depending on your weight, maybe a softer spring? Or loosen the spring preload. But first set the suspension as in the Ohlins manual. Then you will find if the spings are correct. I do have a pair clipons for sale, light but non adjustable. a bit more money are the MR technik clipons, very nice and light. http://www.mr-motorradtechnik.de/ but stil half the price of the deas clions. -
Well, mine is a bit older, and only has a M20x 1.5 thread, same as the oilfillplug on engine and gearbox. I took a drainplug, with the flat outside and a hex inside. MAde the tread for the smaller plug that you have now in the old oilpan, screwed it in, and welded it on the inside, so I'm sure it's never going to loosen, or leak. See picture

I meant you can do this with the reardrive easy. And in the wheel, (same as yours), it looks like this. -

Mark, did you make the crossover yourself? You do have a connection between the pipes? You should. And it looks your PVM rearwheel isn't in the middle too. You can machine off the outside of the reardrive easy, looks better. Look at my website to see what I mean. Did you need to cutoff some steel from the rearframe to get the tail on? -
-
jm the wheelhub is build from sperate parts, I suppose they make the part on the reardrive side a bit shorther. One of the austian guys send the wheel back, I will ask if its solved now. This is what I send them, the brakeside will be different, because I made my own thing for it. Center wheel to left inside swingarm is 132mm. Shockcenter is bikecenter, so a piece of wood against the tyre on both sides, should measure the shock in center.
-
well Alex make him an offer.
-
they understand fairing, in dutch: "kuip" jm, What I mean is that total width is the same, so it fits, but center of the wheel isn't center bike.
-
well zebulon has the 20 spoke wheel in his daytona:
-
well, I follow the PVM's for sale in germany, almost all people use the alu ones, also the guys that do cup-racing. When I drive I want piece in my mind that my bike isn't failling right under me. You will easy notice the difference. One other thing to warn about: the guys building the MGS01 replica orderd wheels for their centauro/V11. The wheel fit's great but wasn't in the center. almost 15mm to the left. I made a drawing of the wheel when I ordered it. Mine is exactly in the middle.

Well, as all performance upgrades require a healty framework to be mounted on, the Dynotec Guzzilla has 150 Hp and a blueprinted 5 speed box.
