  1. So Jaap and I are back from Ledenon. We had a great time, 3 days on the track. There were 17 guzzi's and 80 other make bikes. There was an half hour reserved for only guzzi's on the track. That sounds cool. Sound recordings and movie are made. Also a lot of pics. We will see what we can share on the net from it. Here 2 pictures from me to start with. The bike did what it had to do, So it shows now how slow I am, because it isn't the bike :-).
  2. making an mgs road legal in california?????? As far as I know if there was any place where it isn't possible it there? Or are there ways to get it even done there?
  3. And then you think those stupid italians: why did they do that? That's because they used one tap on the crank where both conrods are mounted next to each other. I looked to find a picture that shows it, but could't find it fast.
  4. guido, V11 wheelbearings don't have problems, it's the way production tolerances from the factory in regard the the spacer between them and the wheel hub machining work out. In some cases the center bearing ring has a mounting axcial pressure, that's not what it's made for and then it will fail. Happend front and rear. The first v11 geometry shouldn't be a problem, as my daytona is much more extreme, with an inch less wheelbase, and an degree steeper steeringhead. it's running without any instablitys
  5. the daytona has a longer shock, 315mm, this has a spacer inside, and that was removed during service, adds 10 mm height. And I have an ohlins unit that has to be mounted, dynotec rebuild. Sound from silencer: sound
  6. Mathieu, my exhaust isn't a G&B unit. It's custom made. But it's to much noise for the street. Measured at 103 db where 92 is allowed. I like the look from the under gearbox exhaust alot. I cleans up the rear a lot. So in the end I will have a street ( almost) legal working one.
  7. this is(was) a daytona frame, at the back going from 18>17"only makes 15 mm dif. But since the swingarm lenght, pivotpoint, rearshock lenght are changed, nothing is like it was. This is another tank, the original one.
  8. yes, but also a 5 speed box and short swingarm:-)

You put ergal in to tighten the legs in the clamps????? never do that. Much to weak. how to get them out depends on how much is left. anyway, no fun. Maybe better take the clamps of and take it to a shop. There are tools for this sort of misery.
  10. So today I had my first ride on the bike again. Because the brake pads have to wear in on the disks, I can't say much about braking.
  11. They didn't change the frame, they wanted the swingarm like on my bike, for step two in the project. My bike has now a wheelbase of 1430mm :-)
  12. they call it corvile from corsa+ zivile I'm impressed how they made from pictures only ( they collected 500 pictures) the plastics. The rest from the bike is all what can be bought in the shop.
  13. 2 guys in austria, wanted a mgs01 to drive on the street, they started with a centauro, and made the mold for the fearing/tank/tail from only the pictures. First from the two is almost ready, now at the mistral factory to get a made to measure exhaust system. Since Mistral made the first proto exhaust too. The link to their pictures: http://www.guzzipfarrer.at/chassis-MGS-01.html
  14. I think it's usefull, only when you know the temperature, you sometimes worry, when you don't know, you don't worry:-) But I think I sell the deas carbon thing, when I have my MS injection so wait a little
  15. picture from the top:
  16. first measure battery voltage, you might have damaged a cell, so whatever you charge, you never get a healty 12.5/13volts
  17. this tank is going to be shorthend, 5 cm at the back, if you look good, you see a small line, the cutoff point. The original tank still has its original paint after 11 years. I have to get used to the mudgard, looks so big, still thinking of painting it red.
  18. That's a coop from HT moto in aachen, Germany and sebypoly also from there, is at least 5 years ago they started that. I don't think there will be a finished bike ever. To expensive to develop.
  19. so today the clamps got ready, coudn't wait to put them in:-)
  20. I have the low profile, I don't know what adapter he is refering to. But I have an older type, maybe they changed? Don't they both fit on the ölwanne?
  21. Alex, Jens raced the 2V some years ago, because he got sponsored by the german Guzzi distributor, they told him: we don't sell 4V engines, so you should drive 2V engine. The question where to start? Depends on where you want to end:-) And the money. Decide what the endgoal should be, then start buying accident bikes that have the right parts, sell what you don't need, that makes it a lot cheaper. 2 years ago I bought a v11 le mans, took what I needed, and sold the rest. I earned money on that deal, the parts were free to me in the end! After that was done, I started swapping pieces against more expensive ones. That's not for free:-( The bike is finished in that. I will still be changing things, but more to clean up things. Next is a new tank, with build in pump& filter. Mounting the moto spezial ecu with new wireloop.
  22. Hi Jean Marc, Time to build a bike with a v11 gearbox. Should fit in the guzzilla frame with small mods. What lenght swingarm did you order?
  23. I think they are the same, maybe only the v11 one has holes in them. but that's optical. Getting him home, will do without one? ONly on a slippery road I want one.
  24. Next weekend, I will be heading to southern France with Jaap. We will be driving circles on the Ledenon track. Almost all things planed are late, but it seems that it well be running on time. The calipers from ISR are to late, so I had to put the brembo's on, and for that change wheelhus, so brembodisks can fit. And a lot of things more to solve.
  25. we had this some time before too, but we can do it each year, put it in the agenda.
