  1. Aren't you confusing things? First not All v11 have a single plate clutch, only rosso mandello, scura and tenni. Second the recall you refer to seems the one that is for the first series v11 1999-2001, and had nothing to do with clutches, but conrods and a few gearbox pieces. And they are late with that in oz, this happend at least half a year earlier in the rest of the world. So please don't make noise when there is no reason to. Yes, there exist some V11 with problems, and no, not all v11 are in a recall program.
  2. the part number is always written on the bearing, once you have them out. Just visit a local bearing shop
  3. I think any bearing has inside and outside the same thickness. They are made with other sort of tolerances as brembowheels. as long as the axles isn't realy thinner no problem, as the axle doen's move in the bearing
  4. hammer those bearings out, measure the exact distance from bearing mounting surface to the other, and get the spacer exact this size machined. That when you rotate one is doing the other is ok, is a problem when it isn't:-) Bearings cost next to nothing, and their quality is ok, only not the mounting conditions.
  5. antonio, difference is the adjustment, that is combination of spring, how valves are adjusted, oillevel. So nothing you can't change. Get one where a big front axle fits, the you have a newer one. The production date is stamped inside of each leg. The one i had was I think fg 313.
  6. No idea of price, but I bet you are the first worldwide to own one. So there is no long term experience. You can handle that or not :-) IF the head doesn's crack, else there isn't anything used what a good engineshop can't replair.
  7. david, They make a 4valve watercooled conversionkit for guzzi 2v engines. You can translate with http://www.freetranslation.com/ The first prototype can be seen on my website, picture from 6 years ago.
  8. I had seen this one before, but I don't think he actualy has one there.
  9. daniel, the yahoo one is for the v11 sport, but 90 % is the same, registering is easy and free
  10. To suit my new öhlins, I decided to make a pair of triple clamps for them. The bottom one is now that far you can easily see what it is. Look on my website for all pictures, click on "new". My Webpage It started with this:
  11. G&B and quat D are the same, quat-d made them for G&B. http://www.quat-d.com/ The design is changed a bit.
  12. better buy light wheels. Esspecialy a front wheel.
  13. I loved reading this, reminded me that I realy need to go back on my bike there next spring. But the autostrada florence bologna is beautyfull because of the looks left and right of the road. The curves aren't the best thing. The autostrada florence rome also has it's nice looks around it.
  14. >This time, shifting between second and third, the back end literally BROKE LOSE! AND >THE FRONT END HARDLY STAYED ON THE GROUND.! Damn, that was vicious! What a >treat! Every thing you change on the bike seems to work like viagra to you. You seem to have a lot of fun with your bike, that's what they are made for.
  15. No the 16 has different size and is to big, So mail them, if they can get you the 15 or, look for a smaller one it the application list: http://www.yuasabatteries.com/pdfs/yuaapp.pdf Most do have the poles L/R reversed, I don't know if your cables are long enough to get to the other side. From what I see the YTX 12-Bs fits, is 10 Ah instead of 13Ah, size is same, only 150 mm wide instead of 175. Only reverse wires
  16. Antonio, If you get a new one, get a yuasa I have an even smaller one as the 13 Ah from the v11, that lasted 9 years before geting a bit weak. I payed 60 euro at the bike shop, not even the cheapest place. Getting the right brand is important. their chart gives a ytx15L-bs as the right type for the v11. I use a ytx9-bs, a lot smaller, lighter and cheaper. Some googeling gets the ytx16bs for 86 euro. that's a size bigger, so the 15 should be less. http://www.motoronderdelen.nl the 15 is also used in bombardier atv
  17. Jaap, Heating the heads is the only way. When they are heated enough, the bolds come easy. I used a welding torch a minute pro bold. To avoid heating the gold paint on the disks, I used a piece of aluminium with a 8mm hole in it, over the head, so the flame wouldn't heat the disk. Heat the bold until it glows. the tools:
  18. the rest too, I heard.
  19. Pete , if you send me the pictures, I'll put them on the web. Would be nice if you can find a new in box RAM clutch to see, what's the, if any, difference
  20. All new ohlins bikes from guzzi have hollow axles. Don't get the wrong idea from older marketing pictures. Guzzi isn't dead but shure the people in mandello don't have the most happy time, and this time not because they are doing bad work, but because the aprilia group is in trouble, and waiting to be taken over by piagio. Only they have to wait for banks, the european commision and more. Guzzi is the same as apple computer, they tell you every time that they are aren't going to survive, and look they are still there.
  21. Jason, nice theory, but doens't explain why there is no rosso mandello or tenni clutch broken, as far as we know. But until now there are 6 broken, from which 3 were claimed at the factory, So for them it's not a problem like the hydraulic valve issue. Until someone has an accident from the results. I know when I just had the daytona , someone in germany had an accident, I got a cage around the end of the drive shaft. That has stayed there, so the v11 inherrited it.
  22. Carl, A bit off topic, but how can they register all those orange county choppers? They must be loud and poluting the air? I figured The only way to one registred here is to treat it a a self made motorcycle. Then it needs to be stripped, to bare steel frame, make dwawings from the frame, and act if I made the frame, They first add their new numbers to the bare frame, after that you can come back when the bike is ready. Self made bikes have a higher allowed noise level. :-)
  23. If you want newspaper news, search the local newspaper, http://www.laprovinciadilecco.it/ from 28-10 http://www.laprovinciadilecco.it/online/ar...Notizia=1261086 from 27-10, http://www.laprovinciadilecco.it/online/ar...Notizia=1259848 from 22-10 http://www.laprovinciadilecco.it/online/ar...Notizia=1253811
  24. to come back to the question, it's arround 80kg it took me 3 hours from start to get the complete engine& transmision from the scura. I attached the front to the seiling, and put a small dolly with wheels under the engine, so I could drive it away whan bolts were gone.
  25. I got this awnser in wildguzzi forum Ciao Guzzisti!! I'm Enrico from Verona Italy Unfortunately everything is on Paul's posts is true A Guzzi's workman confirmed it on an italian forum I think "Mother Guzzi" will become only a museum (yet existing) and bike depot because Aprilia affords more productive and modern mills. Many existing "test" breva 1100 were assembled on Aprilia's mills. (in Italy we've seen it in a reportage on TV 2 months later). I hope you understand my terrible e nglish
