  1. That is Varseveld. Eindhoven is the dot in this picture.
  2. You are safe, they don't brake in the USA.
  3. Well, the dealer bought the bike back from guzzi. He had a crashed one too, so making one from two.
  4. The last german one had his bike replaced with a (ex demo)cafe sport from the importer, they found it to expensive to repair.
  5. I have been working in a professional theatre. There you have the saeme things, a manufacturere that claims their lamps do it better. We had lamps from 1000Watt each(PAR64), 50 of them above the orchestra, because of the heat and power consumption we looked for different lamps. The 80 musicians were very keep on enough light, so they could read the music. Which is mostly on not to white paper. We exchanged the lights with ETC 500watt lights. They were happy. Why? well the ETC uses a lamp that gives a bit less yellow light, more blue, not much, but enough that noone found out that they were actualy having less light. It didn't look less, but we measured it with an instrument. I think they ended up with 70% of original lighting level. We did comparisons next to each other it didn't look less light, maybe even a bit more. Just because the blue. The gains were less heat generation above the stage, which is pleasant for them, less power use and we didn't need to cool the hall that much. So a bit more blue gives you the idea that you have more light.
  6. lot of ram clutches out there: http://www.ramclutches.com a daughter company?
  7. correct Yes correct, so if you look at this post: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...=2659&hl=clutch scura&st=20# you see how a ram should look. so maybe they are all ram, but they made different types during the years?
  8. nige, don't make it more difficult then it is. the picture from the jlywheel you have there, is the standard flywheel from guzzi for 2 plate clutch, touring , heavy model. When I had a quarter from the (guzzi mounted) flown out flyheel in my hand , I've compared that at TLM with a new in box ram clutch. It looked a niece of it but not it's twin. SO or it was an earlier type, or different make. But they were not the same. Only to be seen when comparison side by side. I've seen a picture of the ram where the RAM is printed on the center picture here: picture
  9. I think you loose power. But you have the pipe in front of the alternator, so the engine has something.
  10. If that's true, it's pretty exceptional. Normally the parts come from the aprilia warehouse. If they were allways from close to the production line, things might be better. But they also can't have a lot of unfinnished bikes because someone needed the spings.
  11. John's story confirms that the bolts in the center push the aluminium away. Aluminum "flows" under presure.
  12. Why do you want a 17x 4.5? there are no light aluminium ones made as far as I know. The older aluminium ones were heavy, while they are not forged. Only forged aluminium is light. I had an older pair PVM 3 spoke aluminium, they weigh exact the same as the v11 5.5 wheels. = rearwheel 18kg including brakedisc and tyre. The original daytona( sport1100carb) wheel is only 13 kg. That because there's no cush drive, and the 160 tyre is lighter. The only way you can get a light alu wheel, is to let PVM make one. If they have a 4.5 rim, they can make it fit for a guzzi. But why not a 5.5 then the same time?
  13. it's 18x4.5 made for 160/60x18 No use, but yes it goes straight in, as long as you use the complete rearbrake that belongs to it. Same wheel as first daytona.
  14. There's one in england who did it: http://www.guzzimental.com
  15. You know they close the factory for a month in the summer, maybe they start cleaning the month before, and after that took a month to get you parts. But more serious, which parts are you waiting for?
  16. I just have read that the owner of the german exploding clutch scura has accepted an arrangement with Guzzi that he is happy with.
  17. Almost all v11 have the sachs-boge shock, so you leaking one is the same. You are the first to have this problem as I know of. You cant use anything from it for a new shock.
  18. For a bike with such shaking heavy silencers on the end, 60000km is a nice score. Important is that the whole system is mounted without any stress. A bit of stress ends up in cracking. The bike is never dropped, or some other force put on the exhaust system?
  19. If you do it yourself, go fot satin black, easy to repair, and clean
  20. Where is the squeak comming from, rearwheel, gearbox?
  21. Al, your bike hasn't run in yet. Once this is over, no problems. But taking the whole thing out in pieces, can in the end deliver a nice "blueprinted" engine, or a lot worse, depending on the shop. You have to have your priorities right But in the 10 years I have the daytona, there have been low milage years. But kids grow, and then you'll have more time again.
  22. well, if they do a track day on monza again I might go.
  23. So Carl, are you going to put the daytona fearing on, I like it. The daytona has a better wind protection.
  24. with the new forum you can add more than one picture in one reply. Just click browse, go to the picture, and "add this attachment" do that as much as you have pictures
