The engine number is of no value. Not for Guzzi self. They don't know what engine nr. is in which frame. Funny?
-
The single disk clutch has an aluminium flywheel, other guzzi's have steel. And the rust on the picture is dirt from the clutch, that has been there fror a while, because the crack had been there a time before the real failure.
-
I have a Scura, but never heard the clutch:-). the failed engine has a broken aluminium flywheel. That failure can be seen before it goes wrong I think, I suggest that one in a while single disk clutch owners, inspect the fltwheel from time to time. Take the rubber out of the inspection hole, and rotate the cranck one turn, inspect the flywheel on cracks.

dave a quick search in google brings enough pdf copy protection crackers. I once tried and that worked.
-
dave, the files are available two ways, 1- on the angelfire site, where you can view online, click on the "documatation interacive" from there you have the maintenaince manual, and a sprare parts catalog. In the catalog you have to click on a part to get it's number in the botton line. And these pdf's are copy protected, to make it not easy to copy and paste the part numbers:-) 2. on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/v11manuals/ or click on download zip files here on the angelfire site. There you find all files from the angelfire site in a zipped format, with a gif file that gives yoy the directory stucture to put them in. This way you can have the whole thing easy at home. I heard that macintosh computers don't do it good.

I wonder how long it takes them to build a whole bike? Or more interesting to ship an engine to me.

spiegler has no disks for rear in the program, the 280 is a strange( big) size. The das set isn't floating. I've been looking but could'nt find a fitting disk. If you go smaller, to 220 there are posibilities, but not without changing more things.
-
Galfer is no Braking. Braking started with these wave rotors. I have been looking today, the brakeline in the kit will only fit with real clipons, not with the lazy v11 ones.
-
If floating disks are quiet, has to do with the way they are floating. My brembos have a sping ring at each floater, that makes they are not loose. Advantage of these disks is, they have an aluminium center, are 4,5mm thick and have a narrow track ring, so they are lighter. These disks don't fit with original calipers, because the floating rings are more outside, running against original calipers. Mike: brake line came with it in the kit. I'm busy with the rear also, got a 190mm braking wave disk, now puzzeling with a special caliper. for Al a close shot:

I found out that the brakes that are mounted on the 999 and -r type bikes are not expensive at all. They look not very much different, but inside each piston has it's own brake pad. So there are 4 pads in each. That works a lot better, i'm told:-) Upgrading is made easy by Ducati, the have a "ducati performance"catalog, and there are a pair of these calipers, with a new brake line, and pads. Toghether for ONLY 346 euro! These parts are a bolt on replacement for the v11. I did also change the disks to floating brembo's. Came from a 748R duc. THEy don't fit, if you want these disks, buy the rsv-r disks. They fit. The big picture

one of the springs in my picture is a broken one.
-
Is the engine running with the cleaned injectors? or th cali ones? Should run the same with both, or are they different? Some time ago I bought a complete duc 996 throtlebody with all parts on it, not a bad investment, if I have to pay 400$ for one injector:-)
-
I think the spring is originaly bent to sharp. And there is an aditional coil. The gauge is the same. This spring is only on the 6 speed boxes. so not on the daytona. But I bought a scura with clutch problems, and got an extra spring with it. Roland, who made it, has driven several thouand miles with it, without problem. Since I'm in europe, I don't want to ship the spring, the post might loose it. I can make a drawing. And I still have the original spring in my 6 speed box, I want to keep the spring nearby, just in case:-)
-
I do have a special made spring. I got that from Roland Wienberger. What is different, is the small end thats angled at 90 degree, the curve is much wider made.

The first series have both, the later only the gearbox parts
-
Carl, looks like yours isn't in the range. first 2 are KR serie, 3 and 4 are KS series. Then you look from the right, so you have a 1m114639 that is beyond the 3 range. But ask the dealer to be shure.

I found on the guzzisti it groups: FROM chassis chassis N° ZGUKR0000XM11112 to ZGUKR0000YM112130 FROM chassis chassis N° ZGUKR0000YM112131 to ZGUKR00001M114639 FROM chassis chassis N° ZGUKS00001M111111 to ZGUKS00001M111147 FROM chassis chassis N° ZGUKS00001M211111 to ZGUKS00001M211162 should problem bikes. TLM said that all first series and rosso mandello are in.

Well, I'm not single, but the long time bikes were in the living room last year, makes that I don't have to ask to put it in the living again this winter.... And about money, when you're not rich, you have to be smart. The six gear box didn't cost me money, I bought a totaled v11, took what I needed, and the remaining parts deliverd more money tha I paid for the totaled bike. And my wife knows how much fun I have working on the bike, so she accepts it cost money. She won't accept if I just went to a tuner, and said: here is 6000 euro, do nice things to the engine. Then she would ask if the bike isn't going fast enough already. And will find other things you can do with the money, holidays:-).

Dynotec is allways refering to crank horsepower. Their tuned road/race 4v engines do 136hp. The guzzila 150hp!. But i've looked in the heads, these are real big holes the gas is comming in. Also using 54mm injectors with a shower injector in front. 0-100 km/h in 2,9 s 0-200 km/h in 9,9 s 400 m in 10,6 s Topspeed 265 km/h Durchzug von 60 - 140 im letzten Gang in 8,2 s

on the cd look at: Doppelschiebemuffe “D”, Einzelschiebemuffe “E” drawing : v11\css\v11_186.htm Kupplungsmuffe “L”, drawing : v11\css\v11_185.htm these are gearbox parts. I did a text search on all the files from the cd and found these. One german with a grey v11 had a letter too.
-
In germany have people been called to come back to get some parts replaced. it's To be changed: for the frames KR and KS 2 bolts from the crankshaft, and manicotto parastrappi und manicotto scorrevole and as far as I can find, that are parts in the gearbox. Not the sping!
-
The real thing is the tailsection I produce, look on my homepage at v11 parts, or look at Jaap's bike. Can be ordered at TLM, they ship quick. They sold all their stock, so we are making a new series now.

Cheaper wheel replacement and other things
Paul Minnaert replied to callison's topic in Technical Topics
These are cast. but I think a bit lighter. My forged pvm front is 1,5 kg lighter than the v11 wheel. But as shown in the picture, these wheels have a 4.25 inch wide center. The 999 wheels are forged, but have different sizes. And why a front where you can't get a matching rear? -
The nice thing is that these are forks that are the same size as standard. You can't buy them in a normal shop. Ohlins doesn't have aftermarket forks for guzzi.
