  1. WTF does that mean? Hubert
  2. The headers do glow under certain conditions. That's nothing special. If the bike now is running as you expected it to run when you bought it then why don't you go out for doing what you spent your money for? The gaskets often are a bit hard to identify. I'm sure they're there. The 'how blue' approach is standard here. You better stick it. Hubert
  3. Searching for something different I found these lines about the battery in my 2000 KR manual: Hubert
  4. Faulty horns? Do you have a volt meter? Hubert
  5. Most I ever filled up was 17.6 liters. Was out of fuel then. Hubert
  6. Found this: http://www.motobikeworld.com/uploads/media/K-WERT_TACHO.pdf (German only, sorry) K-Value = 1.4 Ducati, Harley, Japanese K-Value = 1.0 Guzzi It's very special to own a Guzzi, obviously. Hubert
  7. That's funny. We have a quite similar word: Fluch. We don't translate it with "rain", it's "curse" over here, in your case meaning probably the same Hubert
  8. This is always useful information. Thank you. Hubert
  9. The Indian suits her well I'd say.
  10. First, the airbox must be removed for access to the shock. Second, I guess (owning a 2000 KR) the fork legs stand over 20 to 25mm or so. Do you have a shop manual? There are several download versions available. Hubert
  11. OK, you kindly send me a PM with what part you're after and I'll try to get it. Deal? Details to be dealt with later I'd say. Hubert
  12. Send an email to TLM or to one of the German distributors and you'll get your parts at once. Don't wine, act! Hubert
  13. One thing I'd try first would be getting a used IAW16 car unit out of a FIAT, Lancia or similar. Ebay sometimes has them quite cheap. It might sound risky, nevertheless I'd try it out in the bike, how the pump acts etc. the bike might start even. Third step then would be to switch the eeproms. Should this scenario fail you have at least some spareparts someone could use to repair your's (the big Vishay diode for instance and others). hubert Edit: used Guzzi parts, working, are offered for about 200 Euros. Probably the better way to go.
  14. Also check the oil pressure switch. I had two of them leaking over the last few years. They're good for a well intermediate mess at least. hubert
  15. I think, the letters say SACHS And it shows too much preload, too. These are good shocks, not much behind the Oehlins. The Oehlins you find in Guzzis are of the cheapest type Oelins ever made. Send a Sachs for overhauling and you'll get back at least the same quality that others have with their cheapo Oehlins. Hubert
  16. Two things: I've seen early KRs with WP-shocks (probably not for RMs though, ask PO), and second: this spring is able to cope with two passengers, more or less at least. Therefore if you're planning to use your V11 solo only you might go for a softer (rear) spring I'd say. Anyway, if you'll send it to Racetech or similar they probably can give you the right advice. Besides that, over here some say that the ZF-Sachs would be a better basis for any rebuild. Hubert
  17. It's not so much the shaft, it's the pump housing you need to modify for the different axis distance.
  18. I had RossoPuro caps once and found them unusable because they would have made impossible the breathing of the rubber cap above the brake fluid. Remove the Brembo part and inside you'll find a slot milled in for this purpose. The aftermarket parts should feature this as well. hubert
  19. Later was parallel. The bigger problem is that they've changed the position of the oil pump, probably for a given chain length. This means you can't use the V7 steal gears. Maybe the pump of a Centauro could help for that, but I'm not sure. Besides that it seems as if most if not all available wheel sets have the pump wheel drilled conically. If you come over such a set, ask the vendor how to install it and post your findings, please. Hubert
  20. You know this 'There's absolutely no cause for this alarm - the wings are not on fire ...' sketch? The Vulcan is monstrous even when it just stands around cold, makes me wish to have a black smoke generator adapted to my Ex-Box Hubert
  21. my favorite. timeless http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvDDDKnNhuE Hubert
  22. I read this last posting and it looks as if there are no limits... Hubert
  23. Any other explanation would certainly be worse. Really worse! hubert
  24. No no, no sketch needed. Thanks.
  25. Roy, can you explain what's going on here? This little diode pushing the alternator to squeeze out enough current to rise the voltage from 11V to over 13.5V with all the X-Mas lighting in full bling? Hubert
