  1. Am I? Not really. This evening was the first time I've ever heard of them. They're interesting, yes, in some way very similar to the 9th of Mahler. In this sense water-cooling is not more than just using another brand of guitars or another set of instruments for the same somewhat advanced or intricate music project. Thank god not every kind of pop music has started as Country jingle-jangle, Don't really need no intricate water-cooling - not then and still not today. Hubert
  2. Actually it seems to be an interesting - if not amazing - bike, the Dorsoduro. Nevertheless it may be interesting in this context that Wilco started as some sort of hillbilly/country band, at least if I got it right what I found on the net about them. Hubert
  3. Didn't we have a Tom J. thread recently? For Fotoguzzi's vids I'd suggest this one as a background: Hubert
  4. Hi Foto (is it Brad?), being just back from a 4 days ride on the KR through the "higher" switzerland, for me it was not so much frustration what this video triggered, instead it rather made me remember the image below (wasn't it a link from Baldini?) : Hubert
  5. I at least saw one of "his" jackets in Paris the last week, hanging between loads of US Marlon Brando leathers (forgot the brand), boots, snap-knifes, belts, buckles etc. And hats of course. Yeah, chaps the lady sold as well. Hubert
  6. That's why I'm extremely happy that things have developed as they actually are. Hubert
  7. Wouldn't care too much about this, besides that it may weaken the frame after some decades. Should those particles hurt your engine they should first have passed the oil sieve and following that the oil filter. To me this seems rather unlikely. Hubert
  8. Simply start the engine with throttle held half open. I don't think the simpliest solution is to assume others have their things done wrong. Hubert

    Guzzichondria

    Amen, brother!
  10. Count on me (at least to ten)... Hubert
  11. .. would at least give space for improvements like ultra low thermal inertia soles. Hubert
  12. Yes, but for reaching an (symbolic) 11:10 you need two teams going strong over the whole distance ... Hubert
  13. Yeah, but I don't know whether the common public advice could make things a lot better Hubert
  14. He's probably fine. He's been awarded guest-status... Hubert
  15. Yes. Looking at his avatar I wish my other daily chief whips had at least a bit of him Folks blew up one of our older forums here because some bloke felt it was time to press in some football-"democracy" (11:10 - 11 won). They all immediately went nuts. As a result some even got the frantic urge to delete each single post they had done over the years Hubert
  16. ... so with this at least we're back to the topic Hubert
  17. I never had mine specially "secured" and never had one lost resp. spun loose. Anyway, working on the filter through this relatively small hole is not as easy as it is with the sump removed (unless you're a trained gynaecologist). You wont get enough grip on the filter to make sure it's mounted as it should be. So look for (or DIY) a matching tool for this purpose. Good ones even have a hexagon on the back fitting into the sump cover. Hubert
  18. First of all read the book again. Your results strongly depend on what wires you connect to your meter. Of course. Second check you meter. Is it a quality product or is it a 5 Euro box from your local DIY store? Third - loose your mind, enjoy the day without it and try the same again tomorrow. New day, new luck. Hubert
  19. Hoping to give it a little direction: 1: Oil can have been the reason - even if none was in. Hubert
  20. What I wanted to point out is: if they manage to build Guzzies in the future they will be able to sell them. Water cooled or not water cooled, is this the real question? I say not. Who knows, maybe the next generation even will already be luiquid cooled. Under emission aspects this is long overdue. Hubert
  21. Well, 'seems you really are an artist
  22. I've been told that some of those infamous Toyota "Racers" lately were followed by a helicopter and given instructions like "Turn the ignition off! It's the key below the wheel! Turn it off now! Just turn it off, don't pull it out!" So, what do you expect!?! Hubert BTW: Would I buy a water cooled Guzzi? Maybe, why not. I usually buy a bike when I like it (and when I have the money and space for it),. This said it's not the case that there must be a Guzzi logo on the tank. What a strange idea! Do you expect just one Laverda aficionado would have bought an example of this strange Aprilia project once featured under the Laverda label? Aprilia folks would have, of course. If this watercooled bike would be as cool as I expect my bikes to be I would buy one, if not then not. I think this question is rather an academic one - just the right stuff for this section of the forum
  23. Righthander, hetero, sane and employed. V11 Sport Green '00! Don't know what effects other types have on their owners... Hubert
  24. For looking cool maybe? Don't know what else would make sense. It works, it's even easy, but why would you really want to? I'm sure that overall it's more stress for all parts in the drive train than a proper use of the clutch. Even for the clutch itself. Hubert
  25. Starter itself is ok? Did you check the solenoids/magnets? Does the starter get hot when it shall crank the engine? These were the symptoms when mine went tits up. Always a weak battery, cooking hot starter engine, and, don't know why, days when everything was just fine. If you know what to look for you can even hear the loose magnets. Hubert
