  1. I've no problem to believe you. If you hold them together as you did it, how large would you say the resulting gap is? Hubert
  2. Get yourself a MyEcu, My15M or My8M. It's the cost worthiest and most entertaining thing you can buy for the mentioned purposes. Everything else like TPS cheating or whatever is nonsense. The MyEcu will work without any TPS at all (in this case), and you will know what it does, because you can watch it if you like. Go for it, it's a pleasure. Hubert
  3. Gene, just in case something is not 100% clear here - I was talking about the rockers, the brown thingies with the relatively small worn surfaces, in the below picture placed above the followers. Why not bring those rockers to a shop and ask them to grind nice little convex surfaces on them If you tell them how important these are to keep the valves spinning they'll do their very best probably. One can read every now and then of such convex surfaces, but all followers I've seen so far (mostly old stuff ) don't show this feature. FIAT ones neither, nor was it implemented on the ones I bought from Stucchi once (the long and light ones). I could see no avantage of such a shape, but the downsides are obvious: only a very small contact area between cam and follower, short line if not even point only. They may exist, why not. Hubert
  4. This is a luxury version of what I had in mind when I wrote "Standard Grinding Stone" It's matter of max. 10min per rocker. Hubert
  5. What is the diameter compared to the original one? Hubert
  6. The rockers are looking equaly bad. It's possible to rework them DIY using a standard grinding stone. Just take care that you hold them properly. You could try the same with the followers (but at 20 Euros each it won't make very much sense probably). How are the valve ends looking? Hubert
  7. You should use 10-W40, a good and especially synthetic car quality, instead this outdated 20-W50 stuff. Then change the oil once a year only, or every second year even, and you'll have a much cleaner and also a better running engine for overall less money. Also I doubt that a bad head gasket will let sip oil into the combustion chamber. Hubert
  8. So, why argue? You remember the picture: "Even if you win, you're still retarded"? Hubert

    Surrogates!

THX, I'll forward this to my kids. It's them who come up with stuff like that from time to time. Enjoy.

    Surrogates!

    You'd better not - Hubert
  11. You guys are funny. These things are estimators anyway, not calculators. Happy X-Mas Hubert
  12. No, no. Just not the most correct sentence ever. It was meant as a question only, more or less. I was interested what sort of "nice improvement" pu(i)mped your springs from 0.6 up to 1.0 . Hubert
  13. You've the guts to share how you've done that? Hubert
  14. The 16M is widely used in FIATs and Alfas.
  15. Define this "long time to fire up" - time, please. Probably your bike is perfectly right, so is the battery and so are the relais , probably. Have you tried to shift quicker and have you tried not to close the throttle completely? Imagine the clutch lever was broken and you had to shift without this handy tool - that's how shifting should be sounding like. Hubert
  16. And have you seen how green all this wonderful stuff is? Hubert
  17. No, nothing, wich was not a good solution. I then put it back to where it belonged to. They don't look very strong, these thingies. I think I've read about putting it into a drilled film box once (if you still have one around). Hubert
  18. Put it behind the lamp. Somewhere there in front. When I bought my bike it was mounted there. They've been using a small alu bracket for that. IIRC the wire had to be made longer for that. And it was mounted freely. Hubert
  19. Yes, maybe. Anyway, I apologise for confusing him with someone else, having the Nick "Killer". Hubert
  20. Oh, it's easy. Just keep it stored for too long. The same if your business is not clean enough. Hubert
  21. Video removed due to certain violations I think he was "under discussion" even in Britain - IIRC.
  22. We call this "Selling Things Like Sour Beer". Hubert
  23. Some info about different Guzzi maps would be interesting, no doubt. I know from Ducati owners that at least on some bikes there is no difference in the maps between single and dual plugged engines. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was the same with the new Guzzis. On the other hand I'd be really surprised if Guzzi would share map details with their dealers. Hubert The V11 has a peak advance of 43 or 44° even. Better be careful with simple old school Guzzi maths
  24. Tell me, has it to do with the Orkneys somehow? More here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/240343.page Hubert
