  2. Nevertheless, if this new VFR won't sell, then maybe their other stuff: or (EDIT: Sorry, just now I see that Tom had posted the above already ) Very close to custom bikes like at the link below for instance (just add a matt black spray can to the above) http://www.wrenchmonkees.com/bikes.html I think Honda might be quite close to the market actually, even if their products don't find too much enthusiasm on a dedicated Guzzi forum Hubert

You're disappointing me, Raz I really thought your L-controller does the logging. Does it mean, you're feeding all sensors into the L-controller and then you store its output on a laptop? Hubert

I think his Lambda controller does the storing. I used the laptop once. Put it into a rucksack, cabel zipped to the jacket and attached to the optimiser cabel at the bars. Just don't think too much about what can happen, wether the cable would come loose when it should and so on. The bigger problem is, that you have no optimiser for checking the map points while you're logging. So you can only save your current everyday's riding style - what makes analysing the data a bit tricky. Especially if you're not the real natural Excel hero. Hubert

Search the Menus there. Somewhere you should find a card where you can choose what action will be performed as soon as you flip over the screen. Be carefull anyway. Logging with a laptop always is a bit risky. You may ruin your harddisk pretty quickly. Hubert

  7. Well, mine does not, and I haven't heard of anybody else here that theirs would do so. I'd probably not worry too much about it either, but basically what you describe is no good thing. If oil gets pressed out, something else gets sucked in instead. This is not always just air, clean air. Hubert
  8. Could you provide a little more details, please? Hubert
  9. It's featured in the actual MOTORRAD brought out today. Pictured from different angles it's not an ugly bike. What they underline especially is the Honda spirit. What other company is so inspired to take another step forward, a step like this. "Crises? What crisis?" they say BTW, also Mandello is featured: another 50 employees kicked. "Which Crises? This Crises!" Hubert
  10. Man, I do hope it won't interfere with GMG again! It was, however, maybe the last time last time. Hubert
  11. Hm, me too. Hubert
  12. On the first picture it looks as if the cable is already pulled out too far for still getting driven from the gearbox side. But then, if your speedo just stopped working from one moment to the next, it is probably the inner cable. Such things happen. Mine once died differently. It's been not the cable, the 45°worm drive at gearbox side had lost its teeth then. The reason was that I had clamped the whole cable assembly with the front strap of my tank bag. The inner cable survived btw., has seen a lot of kms in the meantime. Genuine Luigi quality Hubert
  13. Try it this way: The KRs have to L-connectors, one down at the gearbox, one at the speedo. And be careful! The thread (orange circle) is more than weak. It's not meant for the inpatient ones. Hubert
  14. Ego-problem? Hubert
  15. Has someone already mentioned stuck injectors so far? Hubert
  16. Hang a good battery in parallel and see whether the bike runs better. Somehow I wouldn't be too surprised if it has an influence. Hubert
  17. Good one, Docc This becomes interesting. Hubert
  18. Maybe that you haven't compared part numbers yet. Compare part numbers - if you find some that match it may explain and proof a lot Hubert
  19. No effect when turning the forks. Zero. The effects while the suspension is moving are marginal. That's why I provided the sketch. So far Greg only's made up dead riders killed by made up normal use wobbles. So far no stories of Red Frames that become or became unrideable and deadly as soon as you touch the brakes. It seems you two are a good team, though, so who knows what story comes next. Hubert
  20. Well, someone presses 4 or 5 bulbs into his instrument, one after the other, prises his god-like idea of filling the housing with silcone grease before so that now the bulbs got stuck somewhere and don't rattle, then finally the instrument gives up - the longer I think about that the clearer it becomes: it must be a Guzzi problem. Somehow Guzzi must have a certain magnetism on specialists all over the world. But that's a chance for others: for the less gifted specialists that's the chance to make a living out of it. Hubert Edit: you could of course send it to me if you like. I had the possibility to repair it.
  21. Only a quick sketch. The distancies like 505 or 230 roughly measured at noon, 92 trail from the papers. 1 top is standard, below -100mm while braking for instance. 2 is with .5deg in one way to get the maximum of trail change (huge huge monster 7mm), 3 is he same in the other direction. To avoid language barriers I admit I don't know whether this means raked in or raked out As I said, just a rough sketch for checking what could be achieved if you go to a maximum of trail change with this method. Hubert
  22. This does not apply. In fact it makes no difference how or in which way you achieve a certain trail. Be it offset, tilting or just bending like on a bicycle. It's always the same and identical result. You'll see very small differences as soon as you shorten the legs (on the brake for instance). In this case tilted, off-axis clamps provide a different changing of trail. That's all. In case you don't have a drawing board available you might find helpfull this: Hubert
  23. Enlighten me, please (language barrier and so, you know ): a) Greg is comparing part numbers and finds that some numbers match. Right so far? b ) Now he says this, for him, is proof enough that later clamps were tilted, right? c) You answer that you are very hard to convince if it comes to believer questions. d) Anyway, this "Matching part numbers make tilted clamps" vodoo is exactly what you've been waiting for? e) Are you serious? Please don't take this as argumentative. I'm just puzzled. The more as still none has reported any difference in wheelbase within the KR series. Did they still build KRs in 2002 or was this meant just for spare parts? Same wheelbase - same parallel clamps. It's that easy. Maybe that the bore diameter has changed for instance, or the way the handlebars were attached, things like that. Again: how do matching part numbers (matching to what btw.) provide any evidence that these newer clamps were off-axis? What am I missing? Hubert
  24. When H-D were through with them they sold the rest of the company to Castiglioni and he made Cagiva out of it. 1000 is a very good price. Hubert
  25. You pressed the starter button? Don't know why someone should do so, but for that the description would match. Hubert
