In 99/00 the V11 was pitched against the then also new Honda X-Eleven. Nice test, nice pictures. The X-11 was shown wheelying with the rider sitting on the bars, the V-11 instead with the rider knee and the bike sidestand and exhaust down. But all in all it was a positive test. "If you want one, buy one!" What more do you want. This time, and in another magazine, they could send a BMW and one or two of the new ducs as sparring partners into the ring. I think I saw something similar already in MOTORRAD some weeks ago. I should still have it. Hubert

Don't worry too much. All you've copied are the zip ties, and those are the first step on the way to a solid bodge I'd say. Your problem is the Whiskey, as BF already's mentioned. You should have started your story with "While I was looking at a wrecked Nippon thingy that was left stranded in the rain somewhere between "Timbookedtwo" and nowhere ..." or something like that. "Boned it out and the Goose was on the road again" as end of story and the BPoint had been yours. You know, some can sell everything Hubert
  3. It could be that this inner step is a big part of the problem. On the picture below you can see a fem study based on a rough estimation of how the wheel may look. You can see the stress concentration in the step area. Hubert
  4. Pete, now that there are several Guzzi-RAM pictures available it would be nice if someone could post pix showing an aftermarket RAM example, at least the interesting because different parts. Do you have any available? Hubert
  5. Yes, Alex, that's what I meant. Greece, always warm and sunny, white houses, old fishermen and for sure no winter additives in the fuel tanks. Hubert
  6. Yes, meant this, worn out in a strange way. And for this big washer, I wondered whether all the edges are well rounded or if you can see burrs or sharp edges? I'd expect so called Coin Edges.
  7. How do the edges of this washer look? Are both sides equal, or is one sharp and one rounded? And your splines are really strange, at least those on the picture! Hubert

But that's not my fault! I've been misleaded by your bad influence, BFG! Hubert

I can't see the 17 incher. So you're not ready. To do things only half is not bodging, is it? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sorry, obviously I did understand only half of what you've been saying
  11. Alex, I thought you're coming from Greece? Hubert

How about these: "Every bodger knows that PVC pipe and duct tape are two most important resources on Earth. You can commonly find bodgers in their natural habitat: hardware stores, dumpsters, and junkyards." www.urbandirectory.com Despite that interpretation: I have installed my recently purchased Quat-D and I have installed also the O2 probe in the hole that was meant for it, without any interference with the frame (sic!). It was not possible without the help of two big hammers, a large screwdriver, a lathe and even the devoted donation of some bodger's flesh. Now I personally think this is worth one BP for me and at least ten for the Quat-D guys. You could invent another sort of badges for people who claim 800,- Euros for such a bodge without becoming red, not even slightly. I bought it anyway, and I like the result!!! Hubert
  13. Would be interesting to hear what stories he was telling his grandchildren on long winter nights (if he survived these monsters)..
  14. It looks as if there are visible markings of small washers or even spring rings around the holes, near to where the cracks begin.
  15. Sounds reaonable, of course!
  16. I will reread the postings but I remember to have read in German forums that Guzzi actually replaces these clutches under warranty. They give people not another RAM thingy but instead one of the standard two diskers. They also replace the broken Sachs shocks. This is fact at least in Germany. Hubert It looks as if the crack is the result of a casting flaw. Do you have a closer picture of the area where the crack begins, near the bolt holes? Hubert
  17. Here is another picture of the bike. It would be a good entrance for "the sexiest..." thread as well: Hubert Now when I look closer at the two bikes then I think we see two different ones. The stickers are different, the coils are different and other things also. Anyway, thank you for the video. You don't have a longer version, do you?
  18. I've heard of people having lost bolt 17. They could continue the journey by using an other bolt from somewhere on the bike. Hubert
  19. Try IrfanView and consider to give this guy some money as well. Regardless what you give, it will be worth each penny. Hubert

    Crossover

You tweaked the X-over, not the front cross over, right? Do you know something about how it works without that front connector? Thanks Hubert
  21. realy am to blame...? Hubert
  22. In fact it is! When I remember right it was raced in Imola. Have to check my pix at home. Probably the rider was an original as well. Hubert
  23. Be it the problem or not, I'd not even think about removing the sidestand control switch. A hint like that is not what should be posted anonymous on a public forum and Alex should know this if he is the experienced rider that he claims to be. Anonymous in the case that a forgotten sidestand can kill you and then it's of no help to blaim an avatar or what ever to be the responsible for this desaster. If you just damage your bike or health it's no help either. Anyway, these switches could prevent you from starting the bike, they should not cause the engine to suddenly die. Personally I think that also a dead ECU is most unlikely. Try the kill switch. This sounds reasonable. And then the rest of the electrics. Do you know how to use a multi-meter and how to read el. schematics? This would probably help a lot. Hubert
  24. Who's the rider, or as some like to call him, "the old man"? Hubert
  25. Sorry, nor did I. I meant Quirk. Interesting looks the link to www.urbandictionary.com. Do they have a "Word of The Day" feature like M-W? Hubert And for George in V.: did they ever race this Morini? A real favourite for the upcoming poll.
