  2. frustrating ive git the wrong spring just arrived..
  3. sTEIN DINSE ARE SENDING ONE TO ME...THANKS FOR THAT, dont look too bad to change it either.
  4. is this a record...my gear return spring has just broken...at 28500miles.....2002 RossoMandello. Just gotta find a new one for a now obsolete motorcycle...grrr Strikes me that if Guzzi knew there an issue with incorrectly manufactured parts they should have replaced every broken one FOC...its a manufacturing defect from NEW!
  5. hmm......I do agree to some point about 'patina' it makes an old bike 'original', untouched. BUT the bright candy red that WAS the essence of the bike has faded over the 22 years and has a couple of minor marks in it..I'd like to put it and the rest of the paint back to as it was when new...the grey tailpiece has faded as has the side panels and the red pork chops....the carbon looks dull in comparison to as it was too.. BUT finding paint codes is proving impossible, many paint people say they can replicate it but its a gamble, will I be disappointed....
  6. @Rolf Halvorsen do you have the tailpiece rosso mandello decals still? Has anyone found paint codes for the candy paint or indeed the greysidepanels and tail? Porkchops an unusual colour too...and need a refinish after 20 odd yrs ownership... anyone?? andy Ashford Kent UK

  10. it was mine that got burned up in the garage within 24hrs.....oops
  11. Oh, I do have a spare fuel tank from a crashed early V11, just needs painting ...just in case. I have been absent from here for a while..sorrry all but the two Calli's and the Breva have been used a fair bit over past two years. My little 2 stroke 250 Guzzi has been used once a year and picked up a couple of show prizes too! A front tyre blow out in France at 80mph put us in hosptal for a while too....so not so much going on for a while after that. Still working on my Suzuki GT125 twin, a Yamaha RD125,a Honda VF400, two T500 Suzukis, an RD400, a Ducati Monster, an RGV 250, a CB500T Honda, a 400Superdream, a 250 Dream, another earlier TS 250 Guzzi twin, plus three 50cc bikes two Aprillia and a Derbi!
  12. My Rosso now is exhibiting a large bubble in the paint at the front of the tank, about halfway up. I want to prod it to pop it but....pretty certain the tank has been erroded internally by the ethanol just leaving paint holding in the fuel! Bike has been usused for some time now (started several times though) and now I feling I should be sorting this issue out when I refurb all the paintwork on the bike. Tank paint is otherwise perfect but the grey sidepanels and tail piece have 'faded' or are otherwise pretty shabby as the paint has worn or bleached. I will need, 1) The red pearl paintcode 2) A way to line the fuel tank from ethanol attack. 3) A way to repair any pinhole in it. 4) The paintcode for the light grey on the sidepanels. 5) The paintcode for the pork chops/valve covers. 4) The silver tank and tailpiece decals, rossomandello script in red. I am considering covering the tail and sidepanels with carbon wrap.....what you think folks? Apparenty the wheels too can be wrapped? I am in the UK but any comments/suggestions welcome.
  13. Long way round on a Guzzi? ha ha ha ho ho ha ha ho ho ho ha ha ha ho ho ho sorry....but ha ha ha that's soo funny!!! Be more of a "Long Push Round"........... :luigi: Or " The Long Wait Around" (for parts from Guzzi under warranty).
  14. I used a Bosch Lens from a BMW when I needed a glass, far cheaper than Guzzis.....reflector prob same too....
  15. considering a Calli Anniversary..

      rossoandy

so now we have a rosso, a 70th anniversary call and a 90th anni calli...loving it even if it did eat its camshaft in 12k miles

  16. Was the paint codes ever found then? The tank is a pearl red and Ive never seen it elsewhere.. The pork chops and tappet covers are a dusty red colour which mimics an anodised finish The tail section and sidepanels are a light grey paint The engine and transmission is a crackle black finish,Harley do an aerosol which is very similar finish. My bike is pretty good still but the pork chops paint is worn and the grey tailpiece has a few scuffs too now..as do the sidepanels from my leathers. The tank is pretty good but I certain its faded a little..
  17. Rosoandy, I live in kent, try and get yourself to a guzzi club meet, check Guzzi club uk webs site, we some times meet at a gliding club near Ashford, Meetings 2nd sunday each month. Paul Must be Chalock Gliding Club....usually club meets ,miles away..just got my other Guzz ready for use..a TS250!
  18. Well I would say Guzzi GB is a great club, magazine well made and informative, albeit recently not covering V11. Perhaps its because no one has offered an article on them? Last one was sold new a good few years ago now... V11Le Mans is brilliant site too. Very informative on all things Guzzi and esp the V11......loads of worldwide input to draw on....which of course Guzzi Club GB doesnt enjoy....and of course GB covers ALL Guzzi models old and new... As for slating the Calli....its a worldwide success, thousands sold....once owned and ridden most owners keep them for years.....I lucky enough to own a V11 and a Calli and they both have strong/weak points it depends on what you want from a bike on a particular day...I love emm both....so much soul....but very different. What they do have in common is the shite backup from Guzzi in the UK....no better now Piaggio in charge, all they want to do is make lots of money from sales of bikes every year...there is still little customer service/interest in owners from the factory. I hear Piaggio have dumped lots of older spares and scrapped the old tooling that made them....now many older parts are in short supply or simply unavailable and older bikes are off the road for want of parts... Anything over ten years old is at risk of being discontinued apparently.....so wont be long before our V11s are scrap.....due to lack of spares.. I cannot buy a new fuel tank for my Rosso apparently anymore....and the Ethanol is eating away at it... So to finish, there a place for both Guzzi GB and V11LeMans.com,we need emm both!
  19. Same issue here...my gut feeling is running lean...just about to check clearances and plugs, inspect inlet rubbers too. I wondering if an engine sensor is messing around, ie temperature or crank sensor......a process of elimination... Cecked all above yesterday, compressions fine at around 130psi,tappets ok too. Obserbing the engine running at a fast idle of 2000rpm I could see the coughing was on the left cylinder only, now thinking a dodgy injector as the new plugs I fitted are running lean on this cyl too...

  21. Hi all Got the Rosso outa the shed yesterday, first time in 18mths its been used! Took for MOT,no probs there, was great to be on it again after only using my Calli for past year..felt soo fast lol! However,I have now noticed a small paint blister on the tank, grrr.low down at front of tank so not too noticable.. Wondering if anything to do with this ethanol issue, my tank has swollen a little too, opened up at the front and touches forks when on full lock now....(only just tho) no issues for mot, dnt think he noticed! Does piss me off tho.....spend £8500 on a new bike....and government changes fuel specs so it effects your tank...its not good.....grrrr......grrrr. They gonna buy me a new tank? doubt it....an of course any new tank is gonna be just the same as will be old stock.....grrrr Spose I oughta go tax it but maybe I wont and tell emm I put tax money towards a new tank? hmmm wonder if that stand up in court! Happy Biking, a very very angry Rossoandy!! (anyone in Kent UK fancy a ride out sometime? )
  22. I found when I ground the stand the engine cut out!! ooooer.. so I took it off....bit of an issue when I stop an get off the bike now....

My bike gonna need a new sidestand soon too....its ground away!
