  1. Nakano's an Italian? Kawasaki, too? Hot damn...
  2. This is gonna be GOOD!
  3. I'll start cooking your humble pie this evening. There's no comparison between the Cyclone and the 'Bolt.
  4. BUY IT! That's an amazing price.
  5. Slowpoke -- I bought a Buell Firebolt last Fall and haven't looked back. Completely reliable and the most fun I've EVER had on two wheels. It's funny to hear them ripped by Guzzi devotees, as the bikes are somewhat similar -- air-cooled pushrod 90 degree V-twins. The similarity ends there, though. Throttle response is INSTANTANEOUS. Parts are CHEAP. Handling is extraordinary. Buell has got it right. Nogbad just bought one, and several other Guzzisti find them quite alluring. You simply cannot go to the Buell website -- listen to Erik talk about his design philosophies -- and not be impressed. Get on one and you'll be equally impressed. The Guzzi is heavier, but, in my opinion, a much SEXIER bike. I work in the film business with a lot of "artsy" non-motorcyclists, and -- to a man -- they all prefer the Guzzi to my Buell. Looks-wise, I agree with them -- the Guzzi has "it." Believe it or not, the Guzzi has a revvier motor -- lighter flywheel -- and feels a tad more civilized. All my friends who ride, however, are blown away by the Buell. In short, I think I'll keep both. If I could keep only one, I would probably (sadly) lose the Guzzi. Luckily, that is a decision I will not have to make.
  6. For a fella like me, it's all about bein purty! Seriously, though, the tool is most useful -- I think it costs $50 or so -- and it has the additional advantage of a tool which makes removing the oil filter a snap. Skimp on something else and order the tool from mgcycle.com.

    Best helmet?

I'm still wearing a Bieffe GPR -- inexpensive and quite nice looking -- if a bit on the heavy side. Have grown increasingly addicted to my Nolan Flip front -- as Hagan says, it's great for four-eyed guys here in the South. Was going to buy a Schuberth but found the attitude at the local BMW dealer that stocks them to be intolerable. I've got a beautiful AGV that I never wear because it feels a bit tight in places. Build quality is quite excellent. Helmets are a personal thing -- hard to quantify. I've always been kind of hard on them so I tend not to buy ultra-premium lids. My

    850 Griso

Sounds like a bad idea, as according to some of our friends Down Under, the 1100 Griso's balls have yet to drop............... Did somebody say, "Buell?"... Oi...
  12. 325 FAST miles on the Firebolt (which is disparagingly called the "Fireplace" by my "friends" at Atlanta Triumph Ducati). 70+ degrees in ATL. Perfect.
  13. D. O. G. Dog. Get over it........................
  14. "The Dude" in the Big Lebowski...
  15. Banged out 200+ glorious miles on the Buell while the redhead did laundry and straightened the house. Perfect day in ATL. Insanity stepped aside for the day..,
  16. Congrats, Bill! As one who offices with nine attorneys, I can recommend them highly as friends. Next month, I'll submit a pic and there will be no braying as to the winner......... 'Til then, all hail Hagan. And --puleez -- let's keep this damnable award in Atlanta -- where it belongs.......... v50 a/k/a Francis a/k/a the man whose hibachi was devoured by MEAN and RUDE aliens... Life, alas, has become too much.................
  17. Well, it started when my television ate my girlfriend. The cat morphed into a possum. Underwear became scarce. God, I gotta get outta Upstate NY...
  18. I paid $50 for the special tool -- and don't regret it one bit. As opposed to a dealer doing the change, it paid for itself in two oil changes. Per the "manhole," I find that if you clean it thoroughly and thread it back in BY HAND, you'll have no problems. Dropping the sump is a labor-intensive pain in the ass - IMHO. Call MG Cycle -- get the tool.
  19. True dat!
  20. UFI BUILDS A GREAT PRODUCT. Support them and save $ elsewhere...
  21. I'll stand by my assessment -- and remind you that my assessment of this pic had nothing to do with my lurid "Americanism." It was simply a crap movie -- pure and simple.
  22. "Cat -- the other white meat" And BAG the hate mail, I own and LOVE a cat. Funny, though...
  23. Was in LA yesterday and managed to sneak away and see it. Horribly disappointed. Overly-long, predictable, cheesy, formulaic. 2 out of 10 stars. Wait for the DVD -- and then drink heavily! Sorry __ I really wanted to like it, but...
  24. Is t any wonder why Rome loves this guy? Damn, Max! Test driver for Midland? We've not heard the last from The Emperor...
