  1. Per Moto Messiah, I'll do a "through the gears" recording when I get back home next weekend. Grown men will cry.... v50
  2. Frankie -- You appear to be a man of means. Pull that catalyser out and let your bike breathe!!! When you get pulled over, just put a few thousand Lira under your license before you hand it to the Polizia. Live a little, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! v50
  3. I have ultimate respect for Michael Schumacher. But -- enough is enough... Let the kids have at it...
  4. Frankie -- No worries. Just having some fun. v50
  5. Frankie -- I've got all that I need from the current setup. I was simply looking to receive some "aural" stimulation (much better to receive than to give). Can't see how a more restrictive system could increase revviness, but what the hell. I wanted an evil, loud and stealthy-looking streetfighter and that is what I now have. Your bike, as stated in another thread, is the best looking V11 ever. It just sounds like something my sister might ride. Ride safe. v50

    Hot 990 Duke video

Ugly. Tall. Bad Music. No thank you.
  7. Just follow this link and download. http://worldstormartslab.com/dropbox/QUAT-D/
  8. It should also be said that you are among the world's nicest people. Thanks v50
  9. I'm confused. Are you looking for the CRG bar-end mirrors -- or just the levers?
  10. Yup -- It's the infamous "colostomy bag" from a Centauro or 1100 Sport. Very restrictive. One sits in my garage. v50

    Piaggio Question

    Piaggio Question

Guy -- They ARE available here in the US. Saw a fly yellow one today. Wonderful cars. However, before someone else points it out, let's go ahead and admit that it's powered by a Toyota-build inline 4. As you may recall, I own a '79 Triumph Spitfire -- and before long I will probably own an Elise. It's not about power ---- it's about power-to-weight ration -- and handling. The Elise has gat all this in Spades. v50
  13. That's it! Rossi retires; Gibernau retires immediately thereafter, knowing that he will never be regarded as a "true" champion; Melandri is banned after it is discovered that he is part donkey; and Max Biaggi, now riding the Depends-sponsored factory Honda, finally wins a MotoGP title. One can dream...
  14. I guess that's what makes horse races. I've been running Bubs on the V50III for ten years now, and I just LOVE the sound. Throw in some K&Ns and Dyna coils (which I have) and you have one strong-running 500cc machine. One man's trash... P.S. The bike will be back Saturday. I'll grab some sound files -- post 'em -- and let you guys decide. It is my greatest desire that they be described by some as "stentorian."
  15. Please understand, I'm not dogging Frankie's bike. Fact is, I think it is the best looking V11 I've ever seen. The point is, however, that if the sound he's producing is all I could get out of the Q-D, I wouldn't have bothered. To keep this in context, please remember that this is coming from a guy who LOVES the sound of Bubs, which many here (some of whom have never actually HEARD the setup) describe as "NASCAR loud." Loud, yes. But NASCAR loud -- no. v50
  16. Still in the damn shop!!!! Maybe today-- tomorrow?
  17. Tongue in cheek?
  18. At the time, I believe 840 Euros came to about $1050 USD. Not bad. Wait 'til you hear the damn thing! v50
  19. Missed China. But now -- thanks to you -- I got to see it. Thanks so much. v50
  20. Dammit! I told mom to cut that s**t out!!!
  21. Gotta go with Dirty Al on this one.
  22. Alright guys -- I've heard these posts of Frankie's bike before. Mine is still in the shop for tuning but -- with all due respect -- that bike sounds positively ANEMIC when compared with the "race" Quat-D. I'll post sound files as soon as I get it back. Didn't want to rev it hard prior to tuning as it was running so lean after the new exhaust went on. When you hear it -- you will weep...
  23. Think of the "new" Quat-D as a "U". In its stock form, both headers feed into the front half of the muffler -- and push to the left where ALL exhaust must pass through the catalyzer. Hence, it is quiet, restrictive and good on low-end while a BIT lacking on the top-end. In "Race" form -- the catalyzer is removed -- and you are essentially left with a "U" shaped expansion chamber. Great sound and (I hope) awesome top end (will know when bike comes back from tuning). Can't speak for the "old" design, but the new one looks to be a real winner. Sound files and impressions when back from ATD tuning...
  24. Damn, Frankie. I guess it was just not in the cards for my bike to be the princess of internet Guzzi lust for more than 24 hours. My bike looks good -- yours looks GREAT. Nice work.
