    Well done
  2. Beautiful bike. Wish it were in MY driveway. Wait -- it is...
  3. Austin -- the "hill country" of Texas -- is pretty, cosmopolitan -- very nice. It's also one of the worst kept secrets around -- a lot of people move there and a lot of UT students STAY there. Raleigh is quiet, laid-back -- pretty country in its own right. Maybe a better place if you have kids. Both are nice. If you think you're going to need "big city" entertainment, etc. you're probably more suited to Austin. If you like a more sedate, campus-like living style, give Raleigh a go. I guess what I'm trying to say Al is that you've got some GREAT choices here. Good luck.
  4. Same thing as the cataltic converter on your car -- cuts down exhaust emissions. Unfortunately, it also massively restricts airflow and sound -- so it HAD TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sound clips as soon as it gets back from the shop (just dropped it off). Thanks for your help posting the pics.
  5. Slowpoke - The "race" version of the Quat-D is accomplished by ordering it from the factory with the catalyser removed. Or, you can remove it yourself, as a plate and rivets are provided. Cost was 740 Euro + 100 Euro for shipping (got here in less than a week) -- and this is for the COMPLETE KIT (headers, muffler, etc.). Sound is VERY AGGRESSIVE but still CIVIL. If you email Quat-D, Manuel DeLiso will walk you through the process. Hope this helps.
  6. Better View -- per request...
  7. I'd suggest breaking it in on cheap dinosaur oil for the first 1500 miles, then switching to a high quality synthetic (Red Line, Lucas). For the gear box and differential, go with the RedLine Shockproof Heavy. Can't be beat.
  8. Just gonna tune the stock computer -- for now. I was merely looking to "wake the bike up" and hear it. Mission accomplished. Going in for tuning this morning -- sound files when I get it back. v
  9. Rizoma Reverse mirrors. Small, impractical, vibey -- butthey look damn good.
  10. Al -- Thanks. Remember, this is the "race" system. THrottle response is off the scale. Sound is AMAZING!!!!!!!! Eventually, a dyno report... v50
  11. Thanks to our friend in LA... Pictures
  12. DeBen -- I order it through Summit Racing of Akron Ohio. They've got a website. If you're not running the SHockproof HEAVY in your gearbox and differential, I suggest you do so. These products are the best I've come across -- and I've tried 'em all. Hint: When ordering from Summit, their shipping is free -- but there's an $8.95 "handling" fee -- so I try to order in bulk. Super fast shipping -- good folks.
  13. Congrats!!! It's the best all-round bike I've ever owned. Should be a good city bike for you -- it is for me. Hint: After it's broken in, start running RedLine 15/50 and city heat won't be as big a factor. Again, all the best - and welcome.

    Yo, Jaap!

    What's wrong?
  15. Thanks anyway. I'll PM JAAP and find out what's going on.
  16. They're in your mailbox. Thanks
  17. Guy -- Thanks. I just tried to email you off the site, but I don't think the attachments took. If you send me an email @ worldstorm@earthlink.net I'll shoot you the pics back. Many thanks, V50
  18. Can I email some photos to someone to post. I've uploaded images before, but now it just says "cannot load from this location" (my desktop). Thanks, V50
  19. Screw the ti pipes, Ben. Just now got the Quat-D non-catalyzed on... MONDO throttle response -- sound from heaven -- full post soon... v50
  20. Yeah, the 4-valver is sexier -- and a little more powerful up top. The two-valver is more manageable and easier to work on. Do as the sages of this site say -- run it in for a few k and THEN start fiddling.
  21. I bought a Valeo starter for my V50 from this guy. He was very helpful and his delivery was fast. Price was damn good.
  22. Something's got to change. Perhaps the entire staff of MGNA should be tossed out on their asses. Obviously, they're not getting the job done. Replace them with a team that comes from a successful customer-focused company -- or with a smart businessman who loves the marque as we do. Too much nonsense for too long. You're absolutely right when you say that MGNA should have a PERSONAL and INTERACTIVE relationship with EVERY dealer. When people feel they're being listened to -- that their concerns matter -- they work harder and can forgive the occasional trespass. In the end, dealers are business people. If Guzzi continues to make it hard for them to do business, we'll all soon be the owners of "Itlaian Vincents." v50
