No. Not a good deal at all. Plus, what warranty (recall) work has been done. I bought a NEW 2003 naked for less than your "out the door" price four months ago. Negotiate -- or walk.

They're not THAT loud. Really, they sound good -- but not obnoxious. You'd think they'd take something off the bottom-end performance, but such was not the case. The big, fat Centauro would execute a (small) wheelie when cracked open in first after the Bubs. There are, by the way, steel baffles in these pipes.
-
They're loud -- but not Harley straight pipe loud. Had these on my Centauro. Loved 'em. You will too.
-
Back on the topic of "loud pipes", my opinion here is split. On the one hand, I am happy that the "Loud Pipes Saves Lives" is tied to America and Apple Pie HD lemmings(note: not all HD owner are such, I know) ... such that I'm less likely to get grief with my aftermarket pipes since no God Fearing American is going to limit "Biker Freedom" But on the other hand, so many HD owners are "pushing the envelope" with OBNOXIOUSLY loud pipes for nothing else than to "impress", that I'm worried about a backlash. *sigh* al 50298[/snapback] AMEN!

If you're referring to the dealership in Columbus, GA that has a bunch of Guzzi and Aprilia stock that advertises heavily on CYCLETRADER.COM, don't be taken in. They're actually a car dealer with a motorcycle showroom, and when I drove down last fall to look at an Aprilia Falco which was advertised at a "too good to be true" price, it magically went up $1,000 upon my arrival. Plus, they couldn't even get one to start. Made me leery. Caveat Emptor.

Lucky for me, Tony is riding down to Hollister next Saturday to let the Corbin boys "re-fit" my seat to his bike. I'll be eternally indebted. v50

Beautiful. Welcome!!!

I've had tremendous luck ceramic coating exhaust pipies in flat/satin black. BBQ Black paint won't last. Relatively cheap -- usually well under $150 US.
-
The tankpad was thrown on by my dealer before I picked up the bike. Any dealer should have access -- it's a Moto Guzzi part. v50

The mirrors are SMALL -- and FLAT. Unsafe? Perhaps, but I always turn my head (NEVER trusting mirrors), and these Rizomas make sure I do. Good luck -- can't wait to see a pic. v50

Follow-up... I'm tracing where the seat "hits" and marking the botom of the seat pan and sending it back to Corbin for modification. I'll PM Tony if they feel it's helpful to fit to an actual bike. What a pain in the ass -- but at least I haven't found Corbin to be as arrogant as some of you have. Not yet... v50

Just got a call from Andy @ Corbin. He was suggesting that I take a few measurements -- put a few markings on the baseban -- and send it back to them for reconfiguration. Told him that -- if OK with him -- I'd like to take a shot first -- removing the problem bumpers and perhaps looking at various ways to lower the relays. He was cool with that -- I could still return the seat if I'm unable to make it work. We'll see...
-
I'll talk to Andy at Corbin tomorrow -- get some answers -- and advise as to what I'm going to do. Again, thanks for all your help, Tony. I truly appreciate it. v50

Tony -- The basepan is the same, that's for sure. Your relays don't seem to stick out quite so far. What gets me is that the second to last set of rubber bumpers (going toward the tail) are WAY too big and -- when resting on them -- the seat only clears the tallest relays by a c**t hair. Were the bumpers removed, the relays would get squished in order to "seat" the saddle. The more I try to understand this, the more confused I become. Your assistance, however, is GREATLY appreciated. v50
-
Tony -- After looking at your pics, I noticed that the most rearward relays (2 of them) were shorter. As you'll see inb this photograph, the relays on my bike actually protrude BEYOND the tailpiece toward the front of the bike. Is this true on yours? I couldn't tell from your pics. Everything else looks identical.
-
I might just email the fine folks at Corbin this thread. Whaddaya think?
-
Al -- What I should have said is -- does it look significantly different from other 02s and 03s. Sorry to confuse.
-
Thanks for the thought. I want to see this thing happen soon -- my ass insists upon it. Maybe you could look at the pic I just posted and tell me if it looks familiar. If it is the same as the early 03s, I'm inclined to ship the seat back and take Tony up on his offer. v50

I believe the FBF kit changes the entire character of the engine. The good news is, you don't NEED a PCIII to compensate. A qualified dealer can tune the stock computer. All my carb bikes do this when running LEAN.
-
Tony -- That's a wonderful offer -- I might take you up on that. Mine is the later 03 w/ crossover, larger tire. Anybody know when the underseat arrangement changed? Again, thanks. I'd love to sort this out. v50

And, oh, if anybody doubts that the "blacked out" exhaust will be aesthically pleasing, have a look at the Centauro with black Bub Bad Dogs and black Napoleons. The V11 is such a better bike, however, that I recently sold the Centauro to a collector who will probably just look at the bike -- like I did. Always wound up riding the Ducati because the Centauro (which I personally feel is the most beautiful Moto Guzzi ever) was too long, too heavy, and just not a lot of fun to ride in an urban environment. However, it was the most VISCERAL motorcycle I've ever been on -- period.
-
I suppose I could wangle around with it, but then they might not take the seat back (altered). I feel this is Corbin's problem and that THEY should make it right. Unreasonable?
-
It sits so high that the bumpers would have to be eliminated. Plus, the relays are WAY too tall. To carve out enough space for them to fit would destroy the structural integrity of the seat. Per Rich Maund, I'd love to go that way but I want to keep my stock seat -- and by the time you buy a new seat from Guzzi and add Rich's fees, you're talking 'bout some serious $. Plus, I really like the cut of Corbin.
