  1. Sadly, all too common. In the past year, I recall four instances of recall work not done that had already been claimed by other dealers. These were for single-plate clutches and Cali cam updates.
  2. They are the Braking rotors. These are the ones I have. They are excellent.
  3. TThe PC III listed for the 2000 Sports will work on you Cafe Sport. We put them on all the time at Moto Intl. I have one on mine.
  4. My right hand was useless for a month after a four-day, 2,000-mile trip on Billy Bob. I added a throttle lock so I could dangle my right hand for a few minutes, as necessary. This helped tremendously.
  5. I finally was able to grease my front one after finding a 180-degree swivel attachment. With the wheel off, and the rear shock bolt removed, I was just barely able to get the fitting on there.
  6. Tanks Only. Ask for CHarlie. Be patient.
  7. EBC HH, front and rear.
  8. Been doin' this for about a year now. Have stacks of them. I even have one in my Super Eldo.
  9. Axe-uh-lent! An Aussie bodge point's better'n, rare'n, and more coveted'n a Brit one anyway.
  10. I'm about exactly your weight. When I still had Marzocchis, I fitted 1.0 kg/mm springs from RaceTech. That worked well but was just slightly on the light side for my riding style. Very comfortable ride, though.
  11. I may be interested in the fairing and swapping some parts for it. Let me know if you're interested. . .
  12. Massaging them will often do the trick. Unfortunately, mine were really, mechanically warped. Another good option id the BrakeTech floaters with those built-in "ramps" to take the braking load off the buttons.
  13. DW: I shipped it. I hope yu haven't moved . . .
  14. I can look up part numbers at work tomorrow. I can also order them, if you want me to. Consider also using better pads, such as EBC HH.
  15. I have the Braking wave rotors. They are fabulous. Guzzi's even using them on the new 1200S. Aprilia uses them on the SXV supermotard.
  16. Yes, I will just replace a rear if the front's still OK.
  17. Zip ties are the key to bodgedom? I'll keep that in mind for future attempts.
  18. DW: Good news. You have about 6 months of warranty left, and I have the switch. Please confirm by phone or email (parts@motointernational.com) your shipping address, and I'll send it out today.
  19. DW: I'll check the state-of-the-art four-drawer file cabinet for your records. Micha is our stellar service manager.
  20. Damn, I'm a plagiarist, as well as a non-bodger. Yers is purtier than mine, though.
  21. You bastards're hard to please. Apparently, I've never bodged anything. I was right embarrassed to show you this rubber thingy. As for the bourbon, that's good stuff. Maybe there's better, but in a blind test not one man in a hundred could pick which it is.
  22. Even at 0, there's still too much compression damping. While changing the spring, with hte spring off, I tried to cycle the shock through by hand. I had to lean on it with all 230 pounds to get it to start moving, and it fought me every centimeter of the way, even with all the damping dialed out. Some of that was fighting the nitrogen pressure, but much of it was very stiff compression damping. I'm probably going to just have to live with it.
  23. FWIW: The last three FBFs that I have had chance to examine while coming through the shop at MI, including my own, were all in various states of cracking along and then across the weld. FBF has been very good about warranteeing them, though. Top-notch customer service on the issue.
  24. Replace the switch. The contacts inside go bad. Still under warranty, by chance? If so, Micha will send you one.

    Ohlins rant, or

I think, different part numbers. The forks, for sure are different, since the Scura uses a solid axle and the later Cafe Sport uses the hollow axle.
