In my opinion, a street legal MGS-01 would fly out of the dealers. Maybe Moto Guzzi wants the MGS-01 to retain an aura of unobtainium about them. If they sold them as street legal, it would do that aura no good if they were getting beat by R1s and GSXRs Maybe as track only versions they can keep winning BOT races and keep that aura about them. That's my guess

That's not been my experience with my Tenni. On fast, sweeping bends, the old saying "As if on rails" applies to my bike. Solid like a rock. In any case, if you're going to spend most of your time riding in Rome traffic, a Moto Guzzi probably wouldn't be your best choice. Moto Guzzis were made for the open road.

My Tenni doesn't seem to like city traffic as it coughs occassionally as you described. I chalk it up to the engine getting hot due to lack of air flow. Guzzis love to be cut free on the open roads. Once outside the city limits, it seems to come into its own. I find mine to be wonderful as a sport touring bike. If I needed a bike for city riding though, I'd probably buy something else.

A watch question: Can riding all day damage a watch? Not just the Guzzi watch but any watch with a mechanical movement.

Maybe we should all pitch in and buy one for Gianfranco Guareschi for his Daytona victory

actually, the tank range is 125 miles with about 10 more on reserve. With those clip ons, you wouldn't want to do many more miles anyways I enjoy the rorty, torquey character of the parallel twin and love the sound it makes with the Triumph aftermarket peashooters but, it's definitely a poseur's bike That becomes evident when trying to keep up with Martin's goose. The Guzzis are oh so stable while cornering while the Trumpet feels like a bit of a bicycle. Maybe some upgraded suspension might help. That said, when left to it's own devices on narrow, English backroads, it performs reasonably well.

I think yer crazy for 14 K you could buy a kick ass KTM. I wouldn't wanna wrestle that behemoth off road.
