fast sweepers are my favorite though I'll ride anything scenic. I like dramatic coast roads too but I'm not picky Juding from your avatar, Baldini, you ride at a pace faster than mine. I won't be lagging too far behind though but, you may have to wait on me. to be honest, I've 'ad a few pints in me and it would be pushing it for me to make it to the Ponderosa Cafe anytime before 9 A.M. so, yah...maybe Wednesday is best. Today is lovely in Shropshire! I hope it holds up! Maybe 9 A.M. Wednesday at the Ponderosa? This would give Martin a little more sleep. Martin, either way is fine with me. I can meet you at the truckstop or the Ponderosa.

Llangollen weather for Tuesday looks sunny! Wednesday & Thursday look somewhat iffy. I'll try to log on Monday evening from Whitchurch to see if anyone is still game for a little blat

I have about 40,000 km on mine...all of them sport touring. I'm very satisfied! I had an initial oil leak from the timing chain cover and two rear wheel bearings fail but other than that, it's been wonderful. I think they made 150 or 300 Tennis. I'm leaning towards 150. In case you didn't know, the paint scheme is in homage of the Guzzi factory race bikes of the 1950s

I just found out (ok ok, so I'm a bit slow) that, along with the nitride coated forks and the single plate clutch, the Tenni also has carbon fiber cans that differ from the cans on regular Le Mans models. Anyone know any specs on these carbon fiber cans? Are they lighter? Do they provide more power? I've noticed that they sound pretty nice but, I just assumed all Le Mans sounded this way. Cheers

I'm completely satisfied with my Tenni as a sport tourer I have longish arms so the riding position seems to fit me just right. I love the torque and the sound. btw...this isn't a technical topic...moving to 24/7...*click*....*click*click* hmm...my mouse isn't working

1 week notice it's been too long since I've ridden!

Congratulations MikeC!

Sir John Surtees made the switch to Formula 1 at 26 years of age...about how old Rossi is now. Rossi can't wait too long if he wants to join Surtees as the only motorcycle and auto world champion.

After the Loma Prieta quake, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a study to find the safest place in the U.S. from natural disasters. The safest place? Eunice, N.M. It ain't much. Trust me.

I purchased a Bates leather jacket in 1984 and I still have it. Very well made...the color has faded a bit over the years but all the stitches have held back in the day, it seemed every professional roadracer or dirt tracker wore Bates. They seemed to fade from the mainstream back in the 80's. My thinking is when other companies started doling out big buck endorsement contracts, Bates chose not to play that game. A visit to their store in Long Beach is a treat. A rack along the wall has leathers worn by famous racers like Roberts, Sheene etc...or at least it did when I visited in '84!

Sounds like a plan to me! I arrive the afternoon of Monday Sept 12th. We can have a look at the weather forecast then and decide on which of the following days has promising weather for a ride

I think the Breva just needs a good protective fairing and it might be competition for the BMW RT

I know where the Midway Truck Stop is I've had breakfast there before. Sounds like a good meeting place to me. I was going to suggest it but I wouldn't have been able to supply directions

wow you'd ride 3 hours just to get to Whitchurch?? I'm not worthy I was playing it by ear. I was thinking of doing a couple day trips through northern Wales then, perhaps going into southern Wales and finding a nice B&B. Yes, my friend has internet access. I'm not too familiar with Whitchurch so, I'll have to ask my friend where a suitable meeting place would be. Hopefully the weather will cooperate
-
OK...I'll be in Whitchurch, Shropshire...just alongside the Welsh frontier. Just post a date, time & meeting place and I'll try to be there. If Baldini reads this...a local's road knowledge would be greatly appreciated

dunno if this is the right forum to post this... far be it from me to be so desperate for riding friends that I have to post pleading messages on the internet anyways, I plan to return to Shropshire from September 12 thru the 19th to do some exploring of Wales. Would love to meet similar minded Guzzisti. I enjoy long walks on the beach and listening to John Denver records...can be plied with a few pints. Oh and do try to have that weather thing sorted out by then

Thanks for the correction I guess I associated the Aermacchi-Harley Davidsons with their 250cc GP race bikes of the 70's when Harley won a couple of 250cc World Championships, so I assumed they were two strokes.

I got 7000 miles out of my OEM BT020s. The rear was ready for a change but didn't have any cord showing.

Kinda harkens back to the Lampkin lads in the 70's. A late night out at the pub...a couple winks of sleep...up bleary-eyed the next morning to compete in World Championship Trials Then there's Joel Robert whose idea of training was beer and ciggies didn't seem to slow him down much

I'd love to ride the Cabot Trail some time before I kick the bucket. Sounds like a great trip I hope you post a link to some pictures.

Dottore, I'm glad most of the observations are positive. Your brother in law is wise regarding the riding style. Maybe a set of Pirelli Diablos might give it a quicker turn in (from what I've heard). Vibration? Whut vibration? I realize everyone has different comfort levels. I never even notice the vibration and I've left my bike stock. Hands don't go numb or nuthin. Regarding living in a remote location...ya never know. You may have one of the bikes built on Tuesday morning when Guido was in a reasonably coherent state of mind Since your bike had a previous owner, with some luck, he may have ironed out all of the kinks for you Glad to hear you're enjoying the bike

lol yes...that's my Tenni

sorry bout that... I suck at the internet

As promised...heres a quick snapshot I took of Gianfranco Guareschi posing with the 2 MGS-01s he raced at Assen. I'm sorry for the poor lighting. You'd be hardpressed to find a nicer chap. Second shot is my Tenni parked out in front of Moto Guareschi just before setting off for the U.K.
