  1. Thanks! I'll hafta try to find those places on a map
  2. Well, I'm committed now! Secured a fast ferry crossing from Troon to Larne at 10:00 AM Friday May 20. Got the last room at an inn in Portrush. Return Larne to Troon at 1700 hours on Monday May 23 so, that leaves me 2 days to explore Northern Ireland. I don't have a hotel booked for Sunday night so, I welcome any recommendations on where to stay within reach of the 1700 ferry from Larne. Re: viewing areas. Do you think I should stick to watching the race in Portrush or can I move about via the backroads?
  3. I'm sorry to hear about the bad news I'll get in touch if my plans come together Thanks for your reply
  4. Thanks already sent but, still no reply
  5. I'm guessing it's near impossible to find lodgings at this late a date. Is this THE Irish road race to attend if you only have one opportunity?
  6. Ahhhh
  7. The site doesn't seem to like me. I submitted a photo twice with no result. There is no e-mail address to contact the web master.

    High miles V11s

I think my 2002 Tenni is at about 64,000 km
  9. We survived the Centauro debacle I think the "direction Guzzi is heading" has always been a sort of "swerving all over the road" direction Unfortunately, I don't think the Euro-4 regulations will do us any favors although, that bit won't affect the styling department too much.
  10. WSB 2000 Hockenheimring http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1808826007287762434&hl=en# wow!
  11. That's the first time I've ever seen video of a rally driver's foot work. Amazing
  12. Maybe one of you knowledgable sorts would know...are the V11 pork chops the "weakest link"?
  13. You sound like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn anything that clebrates cafe racers should be getting a thumbs up...whether it's commercial or not You would prefer they bring back disco trousers?
  14. That could be it my '02 Tenni is now almost 9 years old. It could be that many V11 owners have moved on and the people they sold their bikes to, never found this forum.
  15. Wow That's the first I'd ever heard about a 6 cylinder MV Agusta. What's the story on it? It seems I woulda heard something about it if it had been successful.
  16. I remember reading a story about Joel Robert when he rode for the CZ factory team. It seems that race officials were concerned about riders jumping the start so, they decided to have all the riders line up on the starting gate with their bikes in neutral and their left hands on top of their helmets. When the gate dropped, Robert had a 50 foot holeshot with his left hand still on his helmet He had simply stomped on the CZ's gear shift lever and gave it the gas Then there was the story about Robert having such a big lead at a Trans-AMA race that, he pulled over to take a swig of a spectator's beer I heard an embellishment of this story from a fan at trackside at Sears Point. In his "version", Robert takes the offered beer can and takes off down the track. Upon reaching a jump, he performs a full cross up, takes one final swig of beer (while still in mid-flight, mind you) then, slam dunks the can to the ground a tad embellished
  17. I'm jealous
  18. There, fixed it for you! You know how the communists hated to lose to the West, & particularly the U.S.A, & weren't above ordering the f!ckup of the day on K.P. duty to put on civvies & "go take one for the team"... Or did you really buy that that all happened "accidentally?" I remember reading about the Czech ISDT team having mechanics hidden in the forest along the way
  19. Good to hear from you I love all types of food I don't have my plans made for next year but, I will be sure to keep in touch
  20. Speaking of Barbour, I was just in London for a visit and passed a Barbour shop. It seemed more of a fashion shop but they did play up the vintage biker angle. A nice looking trials jacket with utterly no padding which, seemed to imply that men were made of iron back then. They apparently had no need for the nanny state padding of today's biking kit
  21. Nice write up Sorry about the clutch. I have 70,000 km on my Tenni without any engine problems. I have had 4 rear wheel bearing though
  22. Thanks for the info I usually look for the twisty roads. Not goat trails but, medium to fast sweeping bends I'll stop at an occasional historic site if it catches my interest.
  23. I stayed in Italy this year but, I welcome advice on your favorite roads and destinations for future reference
  24. How are crusty, old farts supposed to act? everything you read seems to bring on a negative reaction you should try kicking your dog more
