From the Ducati Multistrada to the V11 - Reflections
DeBenGuzzi replied to d-rock's topic in 24/7 V11
That is straight up non-fiction, best riders bike I can think of, not a long tourer or really a sport tourer or a super sport but a great bikers bike -
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH you guys have problems with the lemans mirrors DUH, my sport mirrors are great, lol just convert it to a sport!!
-
I have the prototype edge guard, and while not as pretty as the finished product works MUCH BETTER than nothing or stock as it was, see if he can make one for you, if not you could fabricate one yourself without TOO much effort.
-
Ditto, it ran TERRIBLE after I put on aftermarket pipes and xover AND pods, in fact wouldn't hold an idle at all, remap with PCIII and runs like a watch, sucks more gas but sounds good doing it
-
dont they bite??? ooooo, nerdy boob humor hmm had a pic here but its gone, oh well
-
AH no wonder, sometimes I wish I was but when you get the see the hot ones its nice too bad 90% of the time its not the hot ones, or higher? and a pic for BFG
-
and I got WAYYY better gas mileage when I had stock pipes and ECU, now that I got a PCIII and xover and slipons it dropped at least 5-10 depending on riding, also my new tank is like a half gallon-gallon smaller I used to get about 180 miles on 4 or so gallons of gas, average 40-45 mpg now I get about 120 on 3.5 or so or about 35mpg consistently. performance and noise came at a price but I don't care, its worth it. Average fuel consumption can be said to be 35 without too much argument across the board and like a car the harder of softer you ride it will effect fuel economy.

WTH do you do???? I deliver beer and haven't had any flashed at me in memory. a girl once gissed me tho, she was a tad drunk but cute. edit, oh and sorry not following my own rule
-
OH god, should have the 10 year at Mandello del Lario that would be AWESOME, sure probably not very practical so Amsterdam would work too and I WANT TO GO, sure hope I could afford it by then I'll start saving now.
-
ok new rule, no one is allowed to post a reply without some hooters attached, even in response to other hooters, I so tired of coming back here all excited just to see a whole page of the direction of some girls gazongas, thats all fine but be sure to add more gonzongas.

My 1996 MOTO GUZZI Sport 1100 LeMans story (long)
DeBenGuzzi replied to 96SportCarb's topic in 24/7 V11
yeah, I think your wife needs a nice D16RR for how awesome she is, come on, she's worth it!!! great bike and build I wish I had HALF your talent with such things. -
WELL, put your money where your mouth's are and if you are seriously that serious about your rear view then you should all buy these to compliment your bar mirrors. http://www.reevu.com/moto_product.asp and even buzzy mirrors let you see behind you, so what if you can't tell if its a police cruiser or a cager said cases are parties not paying attention than mirrors not functioning, don't forget your head turns and being on a motorcycle means you have to look out for yourself AND every other idiot on the roadway. Also I have no idea why my mirrors don't buzz at all (except for in the low rpm range in town) I get crystal views. EDIT, had didn't read savagehenrys response, I'm thinking we need to get some beers
-
I got new tires at like 11k and they were pretty knackerd and lucky my dealer checked them all(and replaced them all) the dealer went as far as to send a guy on a scooter down to a supply shop to get better than stock replacement bearings for me and only charged me the price of the bearings, damn good shop back then, not as good now, they moved and things changed, miss those guys. I'll have them look at the bearings again when I get some new rubber later this summer.
-
I find turning my head is quite effective for seeing what is behind me I also don't seem to have too much fuzz in my mirrors either, don't know what all the fuzz is about over this
-
nice ass bike, I wish I had half your talent, I'd fit a 4v into my V11 sport in a second(well prolly a week) but I'd give it a true make over, if you notice my status for my bike "nearing completion" forever, I don't have your skill but I do what I can, also Love the aprilia, so I got one. Love the MV's wish I had one, we should have beers I'll buy
-
more like, what the hell is she a contestant for? I wish all the beauty pageants had a nekkid competition, would finally make them watchable
-
yeah, well, maybe he got lazy I mean he would have to make and fit like a dozen of them, plus the costs of materials and the time, blah, Man can't be bothered. I heard it helps to know what you're doing too I keed.
-
I wasn't, I was comparing 4 valve APRILIA's to 4 valve ducs, huge diff in service costs in my neck of the woods, like 3-1 ducs I'm sure I could handle a 2 valve Duc they seem and I hear easier and cheaper to work on but I'd rather keep my gooz.
-
mine looks LIKE a rosso, the one I always wanted and wouldn't have modded had I been able to find one when I was looking to buy. I got a rosso tank at least a bastard step child at best but I likes it.
-
so its a tarted up Vrod engine? thats kinda cool
-
where's Zeb on this one? that guy seems to be able to make or have anything made. I'd love to find a way to make and mount a nicer set of these, been checking out the more forward position bringing my leg fwd while riding and they would be really trick.
-
HELL, I only replace the actual filter every other oil change and use high end synthetics so I'm not too worried about it, filter is a bisnatch compared to any other bike I've seen or owned, I'm sure there are worse and this thread will follow with hilarious stories and examples but I have no other than my double-ought goose. I'm dropping the pan next time, didn't do it this past time but dealer changed it out time before that and with no dealers within 2 hours or a shop I'd trust to actually do it I'll be dropping it next time I guess.
-
St.Paul huh, maybe I'll see you at Bob's Java, or maybe I'll make it to one of these damn first thursdays in uptown. TOP OFF YOUR OIL, low oil is why your light is coming on and these things can pretty easily hold 4qts, that area on the dip stick for oil level is wrong you want it ALL the way to the full mark with it not screwed in and you shouldn't have anymore pickup problems I had this early on and that fixed it. Thank god my main bearing didn't go out, maybe I got lucky using super premium oils, at that time I was using Redline but now I have AGIP in it. Also make sure you have Redline Shockproof Heavy in the gearbox, huge improvement, not sure how to check that you say? well when you look through your tranny sight class does it look like its filled with pepto bismal? cool thing is I put SPH in there about 3 years and 10k mi ago or so and its still as pink as ever the riding position gets easier with time but they do make a few bar risers for it, might be hard to find but they're out there.
-
I got a 2000 V11 twin plate, I have had ZERO problems and it grips like a yoke around an ox's neck even after almost 20k, I can do power wheelies if I roll back on the throttle and punch it, burn outs if I want, butter smooth and works well, change it to a twin plate and never have clutch problems again, well at least for 60k-100k mi or so till it wears out from use depending on your level of bashing.
-
yeah, thats why above it all I may still get a harley and just avoid those jerk wads, I still like to goto the coffee shop with my bike but I commute everyday it isn't raining and go on weekend rides half way across the state(which for GB would like going from shore to shore, your country so small!!!! seriously Minnesota is only a tiny bit smaller than all of GB. For HD I love the ride its smooth and pleasant, I just dislike all the chrome and meatheads. I want blacked out everything but the motor.
