  1. Ahem, the man is right The only reason it fit on my 00' and fit BETTER than my stock tank
  2. its running in these photo's hmm nothing like the smell of old-gas seafoam and stabil rich exhaust in the afternoon you can finally see how my blinkers look too, a lot nicer than those old photo's too bad I can't just throw the seat on and go, gotta get those panels in to get painted AND does anyone know of a way to mount up say a small fender extender on the front so you only use the back half of the fender, I want to go less front fender it just looks slick but I don't want to NOT have a front fender. God it started right up and runs like a dream, I even di a mini burn out, you know to scrub the tires and such

thats awesome, now if you can fit the Scorpion MT's under that front fender I might have a new front runner for a second Guzzi here(of coarse in a few years I don't even know if they're in the US at all yet. When it comes to anything piaggio the US is about 1yr behind.
  4. Mine is in MN and is NOT a flood bike, I didn't attend the rally, wanted to but now very glad I couldn't also same problem there is very little intrest in the V11's right now so I'll probably end up keeping mine as well and bringing it AND the aprilia to this years "Wheels of Italy" show downtown.
  5. a skyline too? jesus, can I live in your garage and just buff for food, I don't take up much room
  6. getting laid off is a nasty afair that I've had to go through twice in the last 2 years so I've had about 6 jobs in that ti me and now have come full circle and finally doing better, hopefully I can find a way to keep my guzzi to keep my new Aprilia company, a sensible man would have waited to get some of his bills paid off before buying a new bike and a new car right? well I need room for the family and I'm only young once I got my whole life to pay back the debt I reckon
  7. Chrisssake, I'd do back flips if I sold my V11 for that much, obviouslly I know these things cost a lot more over the pond, I tell you I'll find a way to smuggle my bike in and make a huge profit. At the same time I'm not totally sure I want to sell the V11, in fact I don't but I have soo many bills it would eliminate my credit cards if I did. Thats really my only motivation. After I get it painted I hope Jaap will put it up for BOTM as I think it'll finally be worthy of such an honor.

HAHA, I have the Scorpion Sync's on my V11, they work really well on the street but I would NOT, I repeat NOT take them off road, MAYBE on a bike more capable but you better get the scorpion MT's if you want to go off road, I almost dropped the V11 going for a photo op on some grass, doesn't handle well on grass, on gravel they actually do pretty good tho, a lot better than normal street tires but they are a hard packed gravel and street tire only. I guess if I really want to go off road and get around it might be more between the 1200GS and the road cruiser of the cali vintage, The thing with the BMW is that it fit me like a freakin glove when I sat on it at the bike show, even my slightly overweight frame looked fine on it. I mean the 1200GS adventuer, might be able to find a decent used one at some point. I don't think I'll own another super sport for a long time tho, the aprilia is SCARY fast. lose my license fast. I need something slower
  9. well Al unitendedly sold me and several others on their V11's I sometimes wish I could have found a lemans for the wind protection but my sport has a nice street fighter look and feel to it. no one's using my images for listings I'll tell you that much but once I get the tail and fender back from the painter they might

    Stelvio

yeah I really don't like the norge tho, doesn't suit me at all, just my opinion. I really like the stelvio from the side and back but the front is 999 ugly, doesn't matter tho is does what it needs to and can go off road, where as I'm torn as the cali vintage is really a beautiful bike all around and would make a excellent touring bike which is what I want both of them to do and really its quite hard to find anywhere under an hour or two to go off road anyway, maybe if I still lived up by canada but I'm in the metro now. So each has their advantage to me I just need to weigh the scales and see what happens when I get the money and motivation to call up Greg@moto-international or Todd@MPH cycles to ship me a bike hopefully I'd be able to get a test ride on one but that is unlikely with the dealer situation in MN, there are two I know of but I don't think either has any *new* models on hand.

I can't believe you bought a stelvio, I'm so fricken jealous, let me know a more detailed ride report on the new fangled ditch pump as I'm fairly sure that if I sell my V11 either a Stelvio or cali vintage will replace her, (I'm not totally decided but the stelvio is winning)
  12. ah come on now, bend it back out, lil spit, shoe polish, she'll buff right out I'm also jealous as you own my dream bike, the one if presented with two doors behind one door the Desmosedici and the other the MGS-01 well I can't lie I'd take the desmo BUT only for one season of riding, sell it and buy the MGS-01(the true dream) a Stelvio, and a car
  13. K, and heck I woulda let myself cheat, I tried once for one I really wanted to win, submitted the photo to a historic motorcycle museum of some kind but they never got back to me
  14. there is always the laminar lip or however you say or spell it, its a honda but you get the idea
  15. 33 here, just been a lucky number for me, that and 3, 7, and 99 were all taken in the bat of an eye 33 was my fourth choice but still a good one
  16. that reminds me of a great joke but it is farrrr to long to post on here, I don't want to type that much, god why can't this damn snow melt and spring get here already, it snowed like 6 inches in the past 2 days
  17. I love mine and am wearing it right this second, it feels great and I can't wear cheap watches because they tend to dissolve on my acidic skin and this watch is great, wish I had bought two but don't really have the money but I will have it long after my guzzi has gone, or so I hope.
  18. I can't believe this never got closed down, wow and now I've brought it back up, HAPPY EASTER
  19. well it is easter, its tradition
  20. Funny you say that I just traded in my 99' Acura 2.3 CL that got a solid 29mpg and they gave me 3500 for it, I mean it had 110,000 and the tires were bald and the e-brake was fried as in made a bad squel constantly, it was leaking oil and the AC was going out but 3500, I KNEW something must be up, I saw a lot of similar ones listed for pretty high online but I needed to get rid of it asap as the wife was getting induced and the 2 door with 3 kids was just out of the question, but yup its the milage not the amenities anymore. now I drive a 23mpg ave Subaru Impreza 5door so the Guzzi and Ape are way more economical in the summer now at 35mpg. good to see youre still kickin out there.(edit, I didn't read all the posts stoped at the one I qouted but it looks like I ripped someone off, no great minds just think alike)
  21. I was listening to the band "Cake" a lot when I was in high school and they had a song 'Rock&Roll Lifestyle' one of the first lines is "how much did you pay for that bad moto guzzi?" I was like hmm, whats a moto guzzi, looked them up and the first one I saw was a silver V11 sport which I ended up buying some years later at the ripe old age of 23 I'm now 27 and looking like I might be selling my Guzzi this spring but I do know it won't be my last goose. The single biggest reason I love the guzzi is its beauty in simplicity, it can have such elegance and charm in a minimalist package and I've always like the 'retro' but I feel more timeless style that the V11 represents. I know I'm going to miss this V11 and am really torn but financially I don't think I can do two bikes two cars three kids and a dog, something has to go, anyone want a slighty used child or a dog that grabs loafs of bread off the counter and chews'em up all over the place?
  22. holy crap this was posted mar 4, sorry been real busy its been a day over 2 weeks and no ones guessed for a week so if no one has anything by friday you know the drill
  23. Oh my, that looks like the devil for sho, I think that fits the lines of the bike better too, Makes me want to change out my FBF carbons for'em where do you even find those? anyone wanna trade for FBF cans?
  24. Well I would have liked the 1098 as well but at the time of purchase I had no idea how good they would be mechanically AND I want to ride not wrench, piaggio aside its hard to beat the rock solid Rotax inside and thats what I paid for the bike is currently bullet proof aside from a faulty antifreeze hose clamp(they went to the cheapo snap ring non reuseable style) Several of hte 1098s have had problems I didn't want to deal with either some have had none but ducati's track record isn't my cup of tea, someday yes I do really want one don't get me wrong on that.
  25. I dunno if youre as familiar with the 916-998 bikes and their equivelent 7 series but some had so many problems a few got brand new bikes there were so many warranty issues it was cheaper to hand them a new one, Thats what stopped me from getting a 1098, I just couldn't trust Ducati on a first run, even the 999 had their share of niggles paired with the extreme cost of maint I said no way I called around and asked aprox $600 first service then $1200 then 6 then 12 thats also based on once a year and X amount of miles now if you ride enough its more like 1800 a year in general maint alone, not to mention tires and tricky bits nothing all to wrong with that it just means its out of my price range right now even tho I could afford the loan payment but with Guzzi couple small, often cheap, fixes off the get go then ride change oil Aprilia few small things also cheap and easy ride change oil Ducati- change oil, check valves, replace belts, check valves again, better replace those belts again, valve adjustment and new seals I'm just saying I'd actually rather had the 1098 a little bit here but I'm no real mechanic and ducati scares me, turns out the new ones are more reliable and have cheaper parts and maint but still not as problem free as Aprilia and Guzzi respectively. Someday when I can afford to sign my checks right over to the ducati dealer I'll get one, but I will have one someday side note, sat on that paul smart NO WAY you old cronies could ride one of those for more than 5 min, my wrists, legs, back, and butt all were uncomfortable after 1 min at the bike show.
