guess cutting down the cans won't help, my memory was fuzzy, those scratches look so sparkely in the sunlight oh well I'm sure my best bet there is a buff, or yeah most of this'll just buff right out. looks like I gots some work to do just need help on that pesky crack.

thats exactly how I feel after a good rest and thinking it over. thanks everyone for the support as I was REALLY shookenup last night, I actually cried a little. and if you know me, thats really rare, I Think the last time I cried is when I broke my ankle in 3 places and had to have a full leg cast. the parts from AF1 will only be like $600 and I Think my deductible is 750 OUCH so thats not the best route to go, they don't have the top fairing and its cracked so if anyone knows a good way to weld platics from the underside I'm all ears. truth betold it could have been a LOT worse. I'm very lucky. I'm going to go get pictures, anyone know how to cut done Leo's for me, that'd get ride of 95% of the dent/scuff.

I was at work, took the aprilia with 1600 mi and no payments made yet to work today a lovely 45degree F outside. I get ready to go, warm up the ape and then leave my parking spot siting upright easing it out go to turn right and it goes down like a sack of taters, I mean RIGHT down. the tires were cold, I knew this but I didn't know it would be THAT bad. the right side of the bike is scratched up, brake pedal broke off, top fairing cracked bad middle fairing scratches lower fairing scratched and a peice broke off, dent/scrape in the Leo can I'm still in shock, I have a tiny bit of road rash on my knee but I was only going about a slow jog, I guess I should have bought sliders and I wouldn't have this problem I could have just picked the bike up and left. I'm going to go cry and try not to panic on what to do, do I call the insurance and I think my deductable is like 750 so if the fairings are 1000 to replace then thats not really worth it and my insurance would go up I'm sure I don't know I'm just shaken up and this was the last day I Was going to have it out and it was getting winterized and put in the shed tomorrow and then this happens.

Once I get mine painted it will be love all over again, and funny even with the clip-ons the Guzzi feels like a cruiser compared to the Ape. They both fit thier roles nicely. AND yes I stopped to talk to a nice fellow in redwing, actually made a illegal uturn as I was like WHAT a CENTAURO, you never see those!!!

I saw the title and was skeptical but I like it, it has MC content and we're lacking in any good quizes lately so why not, and I have No idea for the answers.

I don't care what anyone says, I love the Stelvio and I just know it'll fit my 6'3" wide American ass with ease. I actually think it'll make the perfect commuter/adventuer tourer whilst the Aprilia can still have the weekends. Once the Stelvio is stateside I'll be selling my V11 and allllll its box of parts to try and afford it, UNLESS its priced as high as the GS, then bugger it, I'll wait till I can find a used one somewhere, anywhere a year or two after launch.

Respect to Michael Schumacher
DeBenGuzzi replied to Guzzirider's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
he's just doing that to show up Rossi. I thought I heard Schumaker has fallen off, didn't he get into some nasty crash or something? That'll take the edge off most racers, but to get onto a GP bike and do that well. I'm impressed and at the same time whats the average lap there? as 5sec is a luoooooong ways behind the leader. -
THAT is fricken AMAZING, and the perfect argument to come out with some water-cooled bikes. I like that alot. but you say 16000euro? ahhh whats that only like 20,000 US. STILL looks the bee's knee's

Those are quiz points for answering a quiz in the quiz section, or you can create a quiz and stump the masses you get a tree trunk(stump) I don't just hand them out willy nilly but you get the idea. It has almost entirely(with the exception of BFG) been motorcycle related, thats the idea. The round ones are ones you really don't want, thats a bodge point for coming up with something on your own that looks good maybe but is questionable when there is a perfectly good way it could have been done, well you'll have to ask Nog about what a bodge truly is I suppose.

he's a regular on the Aprilia forum, and I always wondered why he knew so damn much about bikes, well I don't know if he divulged that kind of info b4 on there but I was really shocked, I didn't even think he was that old. He knows bikes inside and out.

no no no, I meant who did they sell it all off to?
-
Great report, many thanks on that as I've been really curious about the new line, I don't have a dealer within 100mi of me but that won't stop me from calling Todd or maybe Greg to find a Stelvio in a couple years. I like the 1200mill I like the idea that is has 8v and I actually like the looks of the Stelvio and I'm smitten as its what I like about the GS and nothing I don't. plus I bet I can do my own work on the Stelvie, wouldn't try it on the beem.

I nearly spit out my beer when I read this. . . "former playgrounds -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- StefanJ, yes, same guy, same place, i was there with Herr Egli during the endurance racing days... we crushed everyone won the World Championship 6 years in a row. i designed and built the EK-900R chassis that Alain Genoud and Georges Godier and with the rest of the team that ruled the world, until Honda's check book bought up all the riders. we proved what we could do out of a little Swiss farmhouse office; Herr Egli, Nicholas sales, Silvye office mgr. shop manager; test rider, service, Seppi, Michel machine shop; Jean Paul fabrication; me, Jean Paul [swingarms] Hans Rudi aka John Lennon[mounting plates, deburring] apprentices; Rene and Sami [everywhere] one of the best things of all was when Kawasaki used a photo of Alain & Georges #7 bike in their ads, this pissed off Seigfried Rauch, the publisher of Das Motorrad et al, blew the whistle on Kawasaki at their new model press release... Das Motorrad issue #4-75 'with foreign springs' page 12. amonst other things he was also the father of the modern 2stroke and was still allowed to leave the eastern zone his son, Volker. was my friend , the photographer that John Ulrich [Cycle Mag etc.}called "the natural". my desktop is a picture by Volker of Mike Hailwood during practice at the Isle of Mann '67 on the RC166 6 cylinder in a downhill left you can see his toes and a strip of his sock is dangling.... this picture is hanging in the entry hallway of the Leica factory when i left in '75 there where 10 FIM National and World Championship Certificates hanging in the window was it fun? .... after i returned, having all the photographers send me pictures [of my first blank piece of paper design] of Gilbert Pilot going inside of Ago and leaving him behind. most fun/ biggest disappointment.... Hans Mulebach putting the workshop streetbike Kawi 750 triple on the front row, F750 race Hockenheim '74 between Bazza and Tepi .... Egli didn't let us strip the wiring harness, he only let us take the fucking lights off ..thats it. they went for a warm up lap, Hans tries a restart .... nothing, i threw a $10,000 bag full of Hasselblads to a blond standing there, put the spark the plug caps on my fingers and said 'push it', nothing .... Bazza says 'Japanese electronics mate, too bad' we had had better days .... but that would have been up there, winning/placing with a street demo bike vs factory teams. shit happens....check everything Noel-theknurl" what I wouldn't give to sit down over a cup'o'joe with this man.

to who? that sucks btw. I hope they support thier new lineup more than thier previous outings. I hear piaggio is turning it around but turning around a leaning into a curve are two different things.
-
OMG thats so true, wait, does piaggio even make parts? most of the parts out there are just stripped down left over bikes, At least thats where they get Aprilia parts, believe it.

you didn't have to unpin it, I was just curious really, and somehow didn't even notice it for a good month or more since that tenni wannabe did it. that outta rile'em up -
OK that does it, who wants my Sport? sure the green doesn't fit but I'm painting all the green black, I'll need the money to put down on this Stelvio, screw a HD, forget the GS, Me wantie Stelvio. If the price isn't through the roof I'll get one when it comes to the states in 3-5 years well at least the Aprilia will be paid off by then

psh, 10, wow. hold on to that thing for another 10 and I bet you could get 10 I'd sell mine in a second for 7k has two virtually complete sets of bodywork and all kinds of hopups, soon to be repainted over the winter to all black but the rosso mandello red tank I think with even all the crap I have on my 18k mi 2000 Sport I'd be lucky to get 5k, which isn't worth it to sell at that point. I say I'd sell it in a second for 7 but I'd use that money to put towards a stelvio me thinks, or maybe a bellagio as the Ape has taken main stage but I still like the solid ride and deep rumble of the Sport. for your Lemans I'd say 7-8k US. is what to be expected and you shouldn't need to fix or add anything but new pipes for better sound. The thing will run for 100,000 mi b4 you need to do anything to it, well maybe a clutch somewhere around 75-100k mi. The things are fricken bullet proof, all you can do is proof it some more with some mods like better valves, or shorten its life with high comp pistons, you know whatever

you know, only moderators can do anything in the classified forums, why is this pinned? heck why is this in the wanted section, you dorks -
yay three points.

found one in your color too
-
its definatly a Rupp, OH YEAH this one looks a tad nicer can I give myself a point?
-
Best bet would be to just buy all new relays, costs about $35 and you'll be golden there. Sorry to hear about your early let down as these bikes once Electronically sorted are Bullet proof beyond bullet proof more in the realm of nuclear shelter. They'll go 100,000+ without any major work I say 100,000 because you might want a new clutch at that point.
