HEY get off me, its a work in progress, I know as soon as I paint the tail and fender black everyone will be like OMG I love it, you ppl are so fickle, throw a lil paint around and you get all in a huff, Its just paint. The tail came in that color I bought it for the LED tail lights that are intergrated in it, I'd rather it be CF first, matching red second or black third.

well I couldn't find a jacket that really turned me on so I bought a Nolan n102 Ncom helmet instead, I have an old Nolan N100 that badly needs replacing and wearing the guzzi helmet on the ape is just silly, my buddy has the nolan outlaw and my other buddy is going to get one, then we can all get the ncom system and chat while on the road instead of waving wildly, or listen to music or answer calls if so inclined. Funny the Ncom costs more than the freakin helmet tho.

I know the salamanders will fit into either, as I have a 00' and replaced one side after it got knocked over in a parking lot with a newer one, the newer bars are hollow the older ones are half solid and half hallow, now the hallow ones are way worse for vibes, I may need to add some birdshot to the throttle side even with my massive salamanders. Might get the tapered "dragonfly" style ones for the Ape as there is a little vibe in'em that some weights could help smooth out.

I like ICON and am looking at either the Battlecry or the Timax2 leather jackets I dont' REALLY want to spend $400 on a new jacket I was thinking to stay closer to $250 as I have a heavy rainproof and a mesh already I just need that middleweight straight leather jacket to finished out my riding gear, well and some new boots and maybe some pants but those'll come later. any suggestions? I'm looking to either match up to my Silver/Red Ape or go straight black. I'm at a loss, but then I'm never good(well mostly timely) at making a decision.

New Guzzi Land Speed Record Team Needs Your Help
DeBenGuzzi replied to Mike Stewart's topic in 24/7 V11
I've seen 2 bone stock Apes with vmax at 178 and one at 179. so 180 with a tail wind is possible I knew there were limitations but with nitrious and body kits, I just thought we'd be talking in the 190's not the 160's I'd like to see a guzzi blow that away, might need a chain to get that high. -
New Guzzi Land Speed Record Team Needs Your Help

I thought the record would be higher, My aprilia can do 180, I know thats not apples to apples as its liquid cooled but its still a twin -
the crazy thing is, it can break the speed limit in ANY gear, its also VERY easy to speed AND stay well within the breakin guide lines . The bike is crazy, CRAZY fast. I fricken love it. Me and a buddy are planing to go up the north shore, we have some friends in duluth ride to duluth stay there a night and then ride up to lutsenish and go back. Lots of windy roads up there. I also plan to go down south to winona lots of twistys to be had down there, We're also going to look into track days and get some cornering classes in first.

Mr T says these rides are dope, and drugs are bad stay in school made my friend line up his 675 for effect. I got my bike in the mail today, I saved up enough box tops and they sent it out.

appears we have a new Tx, hey Tx you ever get that rust fixed or what? some of the forum ole timers'll know what I mean.

AWESOME, I'll pay you anything you desire, within reason, and to cover any and all expenses incured in such search for said keyfob. Aprilia AND moto guzzi schwag is VERY limited in the states, anything guzzi I've gotten I've had to get from italy ore the UK, or well here. Guzzi is a little more prolific in their gear THAT or it doesn't sell as well and sits around longer so its easier to find ah well I love'em but ON the other hand, Stupid Vespa crap is EVERYWHERE, key chains, shirts, helmets, wallets, wristwatches, mugs. makes me sick

go with a high temp clear coat if there is such a thing, I saw a guy with a 2000 mille right next to the same year mille and their carbon fiber bits were like night and day, he told me he had it triple sprayed with top coat to protect it and it looked like NEW. I'm thinking I should do that.
-
thats a little too much, I love my guzzi one like this I found ones like it but can't seem to find a way to buy them this one would be perfect but it won't let me buy it when I try to. maybe someone knows of a cool leather NON brand name bike or a lucky cool lookin one that I could go after? I even looked for a piaggio one to be funny with no luck
-
I know this isn't exactly guzzi related but I can't find anything aprilia related in the states, even the aprilia ppl are at a general loss, specifically I'm looking for a keychain, I have a couple sweet Guzzi keychains no problem and I found a couple aprilia keyrings in europe BUT I don't speak german and the shipping is like 19 euro the keychain is 4 euro. anyway, looking around I can't seem to find anything aprilia in the states. AT least does anyone know of any good keyrings/key chains to use aprilia or not, I like the Guzzi rubber oval eagle as its light, sets my key apart and doesn't scratch anything up. Anyone got any suggestions I could use that would last and do what I need it to? I wouldn't ask as it is reletively trivial at best but it feels like I've looked everywhere for something good and I got nothin I know many of you have much more experience than I about things like this so screw it I'm asking "there's no stupid questions, just stupid people"

Disaster at US Guzzi National in Minnesota
DeBenGuzzi replied to jrt's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
this topic is back open, play nice. everyone has a different take on things, there is no "right" answers here. -
I dunno, it looks fake as all get out to me. There was no reaction by the riders I know it happened fast but there would be something AND it just looks fake, like the special effects in the first starwars fake. Also the second video, they've done that in the states for YEARS, its called Line Dancing and its straight up country bumpkin stuff, tho I hear a lot of europe are just thinner chain smoking bumkins, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diquaY5SkBo some of the girls are hot, I didn't have time to find a better one, but similar no? YESSS.

the ppl at the wheels of italy kinda of said I got a frankensport, one said I should paint the whole thing in this kind of rhinocoat bed liner, I think he was a little off his rocker, I may go black with the tail if I ever get ahold of a carbon front fender. who woulda thought that would be harder to find than the carbon chin pad on the tank.
-
went ahead and took care of that for ya, but it did save my butt once when my throttle stuck open on the goose, I mean I wasn't in any real danger as it was stuck as a slow pace so I was lucky but grease up those TB connector rods.

Disaster at US Guzzi National in Minnesota
DeBenGuzzi replied to jrt's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
ppl are getting too sensitive too fast round here, don't make Jaap close it down, keep it on topic, bant in the banter section. I've had to moderate myself as I had somethings I wanted to say but didn't. I will say there is some good to this disaster, all of america and probably half the world got to see some pretty sweet Guzzi's on the news if even for the wrong reasons and only a moment. -
thanks for the sage advice, that is possible it always leaks on the inside of the regulator but that could just be the angle of the bike/tank for that, its on the rh side if youre sitting on the bike, has the spout thats not a spout and leaks around the C clip, I'll take it apart (again) tomorrow and look for scrapes crackes and gouges to make sure that isn't the problem, I bet I'll have a dickens of a time finding a replacement for that stupid thing if it is broke,
-
its not a straight pipe, I was told that the end pipe in the breva is nearly a straight pipe to begin with as the Cat and all that is in the collection(aka Xover) under the bike and that it is only slightly louder, the owner made it himself with the help of a local welding shop.
-
alright I've had the tank off like 8 times in the last 2 weeks and I can't get the regulator to f'n stop leaking, I replaced the oring that didn't work, I added some gas proof gasket sealant and let it sit for 24 hrs now I gotta clean that out as it didn't help at all. I don't understand I cleaned inside the regulator and replaced the ring with an identical gas specific oring its not coming from the spout its coming from around the c-clip which means the lower oring is leaking and I'm about at my wits end here, I'm gonna hurl the damn bike off a cliff here shortly. I should just remove the damn thing and cap it somehow, not sure how but I can't take it anymore ANY help would be great, I wanted to ride it to the "wheels of Italy" show on sunday but I can't obviously take it anywhere leaking petrol. ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Got delivered and Uncrated yesterday to AF1 in texas, I should get it in >2 weeks from today, hopefully sooner depending on shipping. I'm so freaking excited already had them put in the 15t front and I may get the clear rear turn signals. I'd like to get the Leo Gen III's but I don't have the extra $1,000 for'em right now. unless some sugar daddy wants to hook up with me for a set. on the other side, I'm trying to talk some Aprilia ppl into getting guzzi's
