  1. oh yeah, I should have mentioned I have the FBF crossover which is the stucci clone as well. It makes a big difference in sound with a straight crossover, also the pod filters add to the aural experience. I like it very mucha.
  2. all I know is the FBF carbon cans(didn't put the sticker on) sound the best as far as cans go if you want your bike to sound like a Corvette, or perhaps a Camero SS, the bike rumbles and at speed sounds almost identical to a big v8, either way you go you won't be dissapointed. The MG Ti's are quieter than most other performance cans BUT they are the best choice if you get better hangers, or so I think. Ironically, the loudest cans I've heard, actual cans, are the drilled stockers I had b4, didn't sound as smooth but they were LOUD. total cost to me? $20 drill bit.
  3. I think its horribly ugly, almost fugly, and I'd much rather have the Aprilia go at the rotax as its much more attractive and has higher line parts on the rest o the bike. This looks like vomit, I mean come on, its almost comical and a complete reversal from where they were, but maybe they have no choice I don't think they're doing very well and have to do something, but Really a bike is all about the engine, for a company to make it long term they need that iconic reliable strong engine, Guzzi, BMW, Triumph, Victory, Ducati and Harley all have it I don't see how borrowed engine bike companies can ever hope to make it the engine is the identifier to me more so than anything else on the bike. To me everything can be changed but the engine is the soul. Now Guzzi might not be as successful as the others I've mentioned but I think its the engine above all else that's kept them afloat to date. Guzzi just need more in other areas, or so I think. I still believe a road legal copy of the MGS could have been a spark to light a fire, they just didn't convert.
  4. well for how I would use it, I should probably get a highway princess in that GS I likes it plenty but I'm probably only going to be able to manage 80/20 on/off road. If I got the HP2 I'd try my darndest to make it 50/50 I could always get more street oriented tires and just use it to jump curbs small barriers and stray pets and slow children.
  5. Ohhhh I don't think I would cry, scratches on a dirt bike are expected, that just gives the bike character and I keep my bikes for the long haul(or try to) I do a lot of research and talk to ppl that own the bikes I want to get a good feel so I'm not disappointed. ALSO I used to have a Suzuki 125 motorcross, it wasn't the RM it was more aggresive with a different tank but it was a 78 and other than snapping off the shifter on a slow slide I only laid that bike down 2 or three times, trust me I beat the crap out of it, build jumps, flogged the mud, No I don't think I would do anything too crazy to dump the HP2, I think it would be a hella good time. Maybe I'll just get a GS instead tho because that thing fits me like a freakin glove its like they measured my arse for the damn thing. I don't currently trust KTM's they give me a bad feelin
  6. I think I see what youre talking about, I just wish they were nicer looking, or at least more aggresive looking looks like jason should have got this instead of a urinal, didn't you get a urinal?
  7. you know I've said it b4 but I have the WORST bike A.D.D. I'm gonna need to get on some meds b4 I go down and buy something next spring. I've had my eye on several bikes to see how they hold up, perform, retain value, all that fun stuff, RSV-R, Triumph daytona, 1200C, 1200GS, Superduke, and I have to say I was going to go with the 1098 but they're going to raise their prices and the bike itself still isn't that cheap or easy to fix. I've been wanting an Enduro since I started riding bikes period, made more sence when I lived in the country but thats neither here nor there. I'll get to the point, I think I'm going to try and snatch up a used, HP2 YEAH baby, its hott, its fun, its dual sport, its KINDA comfy, and it looks like it'll fit my bill perfectly. I've seen used ones for 14ish and next spring maybe I can land one of'em. maybe even a lil less, am I crazy? besides the obvious points of me being crazy, I mean the bike.
  8. well I thought about not using the sealant and if I ever have this problem again it sure will be fun to clean out my mistake but I don't plan to ever take it apart again so hopefully the small amount of sealant I smeared(very small amount just a schmear) around the rings won't cause any problems. I assume this is about a bodge as I figuredyou don't want sealant in your fuel lines but I gave it almost triple its setup time so hopefully I'm fine, rode about 100mi yesterday afterwards with no ill effects. Next time I'll just clean and get new o-rings, 0-rings are easy enough to come by, if you can't find that small one at an autoparts store I suggest a hobby store, I'm sure many a RC carb uses that size who knows.
  9. ok I fixed it, but honestly, I don't think its a fuel regulator, it looks more like a quick drain for the tank somehow, like maybe push it up and fuel pours out of the spout, I dunno, I think you guys are thinking of later models I have a 00' I took it apart and it was dirty as hell, cleaned it up real good and put a small amount of fuel resistant sealant on the rubber gaskets and put it back, let it sit for about an hour(takes 20min to setup) and the leak appears to be gone, as for NOT spinning, it looks like there is nothing there to stop it from turning its round and moves freely in its housing and ultimatly held in place by a ring clip. I really should have taken some pics huh. what the hell is that thing for honeslty?
  10. I know what 2 ppl are getting for christmas
  11. g'luck finding a set, I hear they're heading the way of hens teeth, better to decide between M4 carbon or Ti's Carbons are actually a lil, only a lil, but louder, they don't sear your skin on contact either, which is nice. Downside, the sun will make'em look like crap after awhile. Ti's dent REALLY easy too. its a toss up and only what looks better to you, no real advantage to either. I've heard several and to be honest the best would be the quat-d's with the baffel out. YUMMY
  12. ah screw it BFG, just throw that rear caliper out, it's just muddlin up the back end, save some weight, who uses the rear brake anyway? seriouslly, I only use the back brake when I really have to stop, and there are nearly no roads around here I need that semi-useless back break. I would still like it to be there just in case tho. Worthless as it may be.
  13. The Regulator doesn't move, the spout on the bottom of it does, I will look into it, but the spout shouldn't be able to turn at all? ohboy, this'll be fun taking the tank off is a pain in dabutt on the older models. Better that than a firey death, no messin around with a gas leak. Why is that spout there? there is no hose to it and gas doesn't come out of it. I'll try and get a pic up if necessary
  14. ok so that silver thing that hangs down with a spout off it and looks almost like a petcock and the spout can swivel on it, well every once in awhile, twice now, its started leaking when I start the bike, I move the position of the spout and it stops and doesn't start up again for awhile, what could I have done or could I now do to fix this? it only seems to happen if I let it sit for awhile, few days or more and then it will do this, well twice in the last month. I'd rather not burn myself alive going down the freeway and she has me a lil worried.oh btw, it'll only leak with the bike running not sitting there or after I turn it off so its getting pumped out not dripping out through that spout, and not from the spout like all around it, I'm thinking the seal inside that swivel spout is fouled somehow.
  15. you know, none of'em have decent dealers around here, KTM, BMW, or Guzzi, youre almost better off to get a I don't know what, does honda make something? Well for MN anyway. I'm not really worried about dealers for anything, mostly just parts. I'd like to be able to get parts, especially on a semi-off road bike for I would use it more than semi-off the road, just ask the buell dealer that about kicked my ass when I brought back their ulysses looking like this... except their brand new show room ulysses, wasn't the first time I've done something like that, *Cough Jeep* and won't be the last... I'd really like a Stelvio but might end up with a used cheap ulysses for a play thing.
  16. too bad you can't trade'em in like bikes. or keep one you ride forever and have others you just keep trading back in. I'm an aspiring mormon motorcyclist oh, and more hooters. in the event of a emergency, her 34G's can be used as flotation devices, or just bury your head in them and smother yourself, I can't think of a better way to go IMHO,
  17. the more I look at that stelvio the more I like it. I think I might have to get one of those, well I like it a lil but less than the BMW gs, I wish it had nicer headlights but everything else looks great. Really it'll come down to availability and dealer support, both of which don't exist here and go hand in hand. Its too bad reall as Guzzi's are truly great bikes, all'of'em.
  18. you check your fuses there Jason? I had this problem that my tail lights were out and only the brake lights came on but not full strength so it had current for some reason, the running lights have their own fuse they share with the dial lights. just a thought. I almost took my LED's OUT of their housing to buy new ones and it turned out to be a 25cent fuse. if I'm right I'm so going to laugh at you. just so you know. at least then I wouldn't be alone.
  19. which country is Europe again? I know they have their own money
  20. so dasnk isn't just a pipe tobacco, WHO knew anyway, someone must have some way to enlighten my merican ignorance. see there are no stupid questions, just stupid ppl.
  21. a friend of mine's sister has a best friend from Denmark who has lived here her whole life but was born there and speaks a tiny bit of dutch, its dutch in denmark right? anyway her name is Anja and she pronounces it Enya, I think she's wrong I think its more like anya than Enya or maybe Anjiah, maybe I'm wrong but it bugs me for some reason when ppl do that, like Anna but say their name is on-na its like, come on, your name is Anna not On-na get outta here with that. Must be the merican in me to go about naming things the way I want to also I hear they're changing the name back from iojima to chichijima or something, its like who gave it the iojima name in the first place then? that doesn't sound very merican to me. and why do we call japan, japan and france, france when its francee and NihonGo I don't get it, why not have countries be called the same throughout its like you meet someone who says their name is jaap and you go jaap huh? thats sounds a little too netherlandish for my blood, I'm gonna call you johnny. btw why does the netherlands have 3 names, I'm freakin out over here, at least I can find these countries on a map. that says something right?
  22. uh seeing as a clutch should last 50-75,000 miles I hear, considerably less if you ride like heliJim , I bet the screen printed numbers are still visible on that clutch.
  23. I got mine in the mail today, and all I can say is that I LOVE IT, its so perfect I love understanded elegance, much like the guzzi, beauty in simplicity kinda thing. Its lighter than I thought and the thing glows SO bright in the dark its rediculous. I wish I had more money for a second one to just hold on to till this one craps out hopefully many an odd years down the road. CHEERS, btw that danish crossword puzzle will be a LOT of fun, as soon as I learn dutch. I can't even pronounce the word they give you to get started
  24. AHMEN brotha, bout time someone put it into perspective, my friends R6 you have to take off the fairings and then the filter is behind the header, thats a REAL treat we got it so easy its not even funny. what current bike besides maybe an beamer could be this easy to work on?
  25. my next car new or otherwise is going to get the RLSH the week I get'er, that stuff is like liquid gold, and apparently more expensive than gold in the UK I think I paid $14? I wanna say, they're regular oil was $7 a quart that I put in the engine. I dunno, a lot cheaper than the UK prices.
